Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Clues:

Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet

Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul

Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

Hey, Lil Man -- Is there any particular year that you're looking for? I haven't even dug into the previous years ones yet, but if I knew you wanted a particular year and I still had some, I'd be sure to save one for you.

I'm not sure if you could bring 1 of each that would be way cooler! I went looking for all mine and can't seem to find any of them I hope I did'nt lose them in the move.

Thanks MOM

Well, "no time for cold feet" also can refer to dancing. It is on my daughter's danceline competition t-shirt. So I thought, hmmmmm.Everyone is focusing on the movie, maybe it has double meaning> And greet anagram is egret. A lake? Nature preserve nearby. Nature preserve and "natures lovers".
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 5:31 PM Permalink
queenmalley

anagram for low is "owl" ; two bird anagrams from clues.

no time for cold feet has me thinking, not to be nervous for a marriage. Como park conservatory/nature lover...
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 6:07 PM Permalink
queenmalley

Good one, B, about cold feet and marriage. Do you think it would be hidden at Como again after two years in a row so recent? It will probably be a large park again with so many peeps hunting now.....
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 6:11 PM Permalink
Brassmonkey

like your 2 anagrams with birds

know its a stretch but i cant rule anything out yet.

queen, do you know of any saint paul parks that have a bird avery?
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 6:30 PM Permalink
queenmalley

Brass: i have been looking on St Paul parks page. Can't see anything yet....you?
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 6:32 PM Permalink
Brassmonkey

queen, we need to talk in private!

http://www.wintercarnival.8m.com/index.html

that link is really cool, lists details on percentages that each clue names things about the park. IE: 28% of the first clue has general info. It also has a chart on outside of St. Paul, not too many times. Also, not many times has clue # 1 been unique in wordplay.

Brassmonkey

Im on to something with the birds, that web page wont load for me.. But I am fairly certain that the first clue usually has a hidden reference to the park or something near it, even if they dont admit it at the end.
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 6:45 PM Permalink
queenmalley

City name has been in clue one 21%
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 7:02 PM Permalink
queenmalley

For Clue 1:I meant 28 times, not percent. 28 times the city name; 21 times, general info;

6 times what is near the park in clue 1; 6 times the park amenities; 6 times what it's hidden in; 3 times the street name.
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 7:06 PM Permalink
queenmalley

It hasn't been found outside a St Paul park since 1988.
Sat, 01/20/2007 - 7:13 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

probably because they've gotten too many complaints from other municipalities when they've hidden it outside of st. paul proper.

What a GREAT time!!! BEST yet! Found out I'm some people's 'hero'! And my own hero - Greg Saxx - has made it back home, was at the Pre-Dig (I couldn't quit touching him! I just couldn't believe he was really there in PERSON!), and will be Hunting and noodling with us once again!!! I'd not seen him since Conway in '99!!!

WELCOME HOME, GREG!!!! I've missed you SO MUCH and am THRILLED you're home and back among those who love you!!!! You go, boyfriend, and find The Medallion!

I now return you to your noodling.

Huummm... Owl and egret. Two birds... Double division? To and fro?

I'm still thinking CoNo. Not that I WANT it to be CoNo, Oh, no! But thass what I think. At least at this point. I reserve the right to change my mind in five minutes or five days.

Putting on a strong ethiopian blend to percolate, stocking the mini-bar with water, juice and pre-mixed bloody marys. Setting out trays of bagels, muffins and pastries along with a full selection of cream cheeses and bloody mary veggies.

Have a happy clue 1 Sunday!

It hasn't sucnk in yet that the hunt is actually here. The lack of snow through December really put a damper on my spirits.

Hey everyone! We're new to this (second hunt) but we been thinkin Hidden Falls. K. here goes. nature lovers greet at Crosby, a mostly natural habitat as well as Hidden Falls (attached to Crosby). The kicker is that the south half of Hidden Falls is closed in the winter except to FOOT traffic. you have to walk unmaintained paths from north HF or Crosby to get to the puck. No time for cold feet!
