It would just be really cool to be close enough to a big group to where we could all have a big fire and get all blurry and slurry, and not have to have anyone worry about a 20 minute (or so) ride home... ya know?
our ISP dropped off a box of chocolates at the office.
Odd considering usually ya only get stuff from vendors at christmas. Wisecracking coworker tried to say some guy was sending me stuff (just cause I'm single does not mean I'm gay, sheesh, not to mention I expect it wasn't the network engineer's idea, seemed more like a company thing). So I tossed em at my coworker, since he usually gets all the perks around here anyways, told him to give em to his wife and drop it.
Geez the only time I get anything extra around here and all I get is crap for it. Screw that.
He's a jerk of a guy anyways. Started off at this place being equal to him, and yet somehow he thinks he's the boss around here. I just ignore it, and any demands he tries to make of me.
Best part of my day is when he tries to tell me to do something, and I get to say no. Been doing that more lately, cause I know this place is screwed if I leave.
irritates: getting the second batch of 3 dozen roses delivered this morning in the same condition as the ones on tuesday were. ftd and dhl are really starting to piss me off. dhl has been called and a complaint written against the driver (same driver both days), and ftd is too busy "due to the high call volume to take" my call. a chargeback may well be in their future if they don't start answering their damn phone.
the nice thing is right now we have close to 5 dozen "good" roses in the house. i want 3 dozen more on ftd's dime and my money back. in order to get that i kinda have to get my way into customer service.
although don't think that calling for a chargeback isn't really really tempting.
yeah that's possible. ironically, after doing some more research on the matter, what i received isn't even the picture that went along with the auction. its bad enough out there that ebay has one of their guides written on the matter:
I'm still a sucker for a gift from the heart. I would take a homemade card - and something made that took time, effort and thought over 3 dozen sparklies anyday of the week.
that being said... I rushed right out to hallmark, best buy, and hellride when buying HIS gift... (as I didn't think he'd find the same sweetness in a gift from the heart) but turns out what he really wanted was me to make him a scarf. Which I'm attempting. slowly.
ugghh.. came in to work today, slightly under the weather. Now I'm feeling worse, but we're understaffed today.
So, I sit here miserable anyway, because I'm such a nice guy I don't want to overburden my coworkers by leaving.
Sick days, vacations, blizzards, apocalypse.. doesn't matter, I'll go in to work anyways. Honestly 10 years ago I would've never thought I'd be a workaholic.. Still really don't think I would be if the situation was slightly.. different.
Getting a ticket on the second to last clue of the hunt...
Making a special trip to take care of it all, and being told that the ticket is not in their system yet, come back in 10-15 days...
Making yet another special trip during rush hour to finally take care of the ticket... and being told that my proof of insurance is not good enough (printed a temporary card on-line showing I have and had insurance)... the woman telling me, "please come back later with a real insurance card"
The good thing is, the "real" insurance card is going in the mail to me tomorrow,... BUT, I have to wait 2 weeks to go back in (when I'm off work during business hours), and pay a late payment fee

It's riddled with "Ask Joel" comments... that never is a good sign...

waiting to see what the seller has to say about it.
picture of what i received:
picture of real thing (distorted because its stretched):
can you spot the difference?
I just ordered a 4GB mini for my phone (not from ebay from Amazon) it should be arriving today.
vino if you bought it from amazon you should be safe.
fortunately, since i paid for mine via paypal, i'm safe too
assuming you bought it directly from amazon you should be safe. if you bought it via the marketplace you may not be.

and yes, the one i received has the squarish corners of the counterfeit cards in the first set of pictures.
yeah i know i know there's never such a thing as too many sparklies.
really though, for valentines day (or any day), I just 'want' to snuggle and feel loved
I don't need material things

That and an obnoxious singing rose to annoy everyone in the area.

I don't care to listen ALL DAY to people practicing opera in the foyer for a performance tonight!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
Thanks
