Thanks everyone... it helps to have friends pulling for you... he made it through the chemo yesterday without getting sick and feels really good today so hopefully we can get some good news in the next couple of weeks... please keep the prayers coming!

TC I want to thank you again for the chat last night, I had no clue about your dad because when I came back this year for the hunt I marked not all but most of the threads read because I didn't have time to catch up and also keep up with all the threads. It is a great help to know that I'm not the only one going through this right now.

If you need anything, someone to watch the kids or ANYTHING, I am just down the street... Do you have my number?

Update on Dad... he has his first chemo treatment yesterday at T-gen (the experimental cancer center in Scottsdale, Az.) thank god he didn't get sick. His potassium was low so they gave him an IV to get it back in the normal range... with that and the chemo (blood draws between each med) it was a long 11 hour day. hopefully the chemo will be faster without the potassium complications. He said his back hurt from lying down for such a long time. I will be leaving town on Sat. to be with him... cuz of the potassium they are only doing two weeks of chemo this time rather than the usual 3 weeks so we will be back in town for memorial day. he is in town for a week and then back out there for the next round. I will be in town for 2 weeks then back out there for 2. Mom and I alternate one chemo round she takes 2 weeks and I take 1 then the next I do the 2 and she takes the one... we have our first test to measure results after 3 rounds. what a week! all I know is that I can't wait to see him and hold on to him and not let go!!! This is one hell of a fight and we are NOT going to lose him!!!!

Thanks for the update TC. Low potassium is nothing to mess with. He's gonna be a bit sore. It affects the muscles pretty bad when it's low. I'm glad he's able to go to a beautiful place like Scottsdale for the treatments. That's gotta help in itself.

TC sorry to hear about the low Potassium I feel for him my mom had to have several days worth of 4x a day IV's and that stuff hurts/burns going in. As always your dad and family is in my thoughts! Hope this next week goes better for the Chemo. HUGS!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! Just arrived in Scottsdale... really pretty... there are lots of flowers on the cactus this time of the year... pictures will follow as soon as hubby puts them on here for me. Was so good to see Dad! He looks terrific and says he is feeling great! His hair is even starting to grow back and this new chemo doesn't seem to be making him lose it. The house I am staying at is something else! (again hubby will supply pics) so nice of Pat to put us up! A real southwest experience... the other day a rattle snake was out back and last night there was a family of eight javelina pigs. Tomorrow we are looking forward to a day off chemo and are going to go visit Talieson west one of Frank Lloyd Wright. Now I think I am gonna go swimming and take advantage of that water fall in the pool :smile:

What a great day! Dad was feeling terrific... Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture was fabulous... the weather was nice and all the cactus in bloom. Tomorrow it is back to chemo... today was a day to feel really blessed to get to hang out with my dad. :smile:
