I don't remember ever talking about Stan let alone you remembering that. wow- thanks for the heads up - I went out to dinner last night and didn't get home til late so I missed it :frown:
speaking of the dinner- I tried hard to curl up & poof my hair in that 80's look just because Ares wanted it back and I wondered if I could remember how to do it - even used hairspray (I rarely if ever use hairspray) I may post the pic later- we'll see- my hair is longer and not layered down the sides like back then. my hairdresser AND daughters would probably kill me if I asked him to do that. It's like my mom going in and asking for the 60's hairstyle yah know! embarrassing for the kids.
that was my best friend at the time - we rented an apartment together - I wasn't even out of highschool yet. It was the 'in' thing to wear/keep your boyfriends bowtie during/after the dance. you guys are too nice- ty - I didn't expect one photo to collect so much attention- I only really posted it because Sarah is hitting some of my memorable years in life - and I'm reminiscing
ooooooh The Creature from the Black Lagoon is on right now!!!!!!!! sooooo cooool!!!
I took the day off of work- had a horrible headache yesterday around my ear and right eye, back of my head and felt dizzy and car sick at work--- it didn't help that I was reading up on Longfellow - he died of extreme vertigo -
I got online at 12 Noon to get tickets to see Weird Al August 27 at the State Fair. Within the two minutes that I had to commit, I was looking for a little more detail on the mailing choices when the two minutes ran out, so I lost the Row 11 seats and ended up with Row 19. Then they give you one minute to fill in your basic info, and three minutes to fill in all your credit card and shipping info, and although I type like the wind, I'm sure I came very close to losing those tickets too! I understand why they can't leave the tickets out there forever, but geez!! I know - I could create an account, which would speed things up, but didn't figure that out until afterwards. Anyway, I don't know if I will already be moved back to MN by August, but at least I will get to the State Fair this year. First time since 2001 or earlier, probably earlier.
they were selling the center row first - first 20 rows
than going 1/2 way up sections 3 & 2 than section 4 than up 5 than back to the center section, row 21 and back. I actually had gotten 9th row in section 4 but I lost them - I rarely take their first offer unless its in the first few rows. I always feel like I'm being cheated out of better seats. And sure enough when I gave up my section 4? I watched people buy seats far back and I still got close up. I was offered rows 15, 20 and 23 in the center BEFORE I found row 10 in section 5. Each venue seems to have a different system. They claim the computer spits out the "best" seats BUT I don't let the computer decide for me that row 20 in the center is better than row 10 in the section over. The closer the better - wether on the side or front or behind the stage. Every concert is different and sometimes you have to know the performer and where they stand on stage more too.
Excel - Roger Waters- I just checked it and I can get row 20 in 119!!! techniqually section 119 doesn't even begin til row 9 so really its like being in the 10th row on the side. Where as when they went on sale I would probably be given 1/2 way back on the sides in sections 115 or 104. When Im paying for the tickets I'm picky. If someone else got them than its not that biga deal where the seats are and I'll go to just about anything. But I always give it my best shot to play the system.
Avril Lavigne- good for instance - waited until 2 weeks after the tickets went on sale to sell the sides of the stage - 500 tickets were released. We got Row 9 on the side - that turned out to be FRONT ROW!!! at stage level!
Weird Al will be fun!
oh and I lost those 9th row seats because I tried to have 2 ticketmaster windows up at the same time- you can't do that any longer- I think they track the IP # or whatever that is so it kicks you off or merges the windows.
Nothing beats the days of sleeping over night outside the MET stadium for the weekend though to get concert tickets!
A Kindred Spirit is someone who shares similar thoughts, feelings, someone who is close in temperament and nature to yourself, to whom you have a rare spiritual link that is very special and you can't quite explain.
I got another flat tire yesterday - got stranded in front of MattyB's for over an hour.
then thismorning I slipped on the slippery wet steps outside - I can't imagine I didn't wake a neighbor with my scream as I fell. Somehow I managed to spill all the coffee without breaking the mug.
so I missed the deadline this year for the Ely ice out - but last week I tried the scientifc ideas by researching the last 4 years dates, and printed off sheets with years of daily data to help in my decision to pinpoint a date, day and time for this year. thought I would share my quirky idea -

I thought of you because you know someone who helped build it.
