AHHHHH!! I can't even watch them on TV. And dude, talk about karma... after I posted that comment earlier, there was one in my building at work. I had to duck around the corner and hide from him till he went into an office.
the area/treasure chest family has added a new memeber. sophie is as long as your thumb and wide as two of them, but has a giant heart for a small hamster. she was abandonded by some heartless twit and rescued and tucked into her four level castle in megan's room. she is just too cute! pictures to come.
I'm sure it can be kinda overwhelming at first.... especially if he's not used to being around more dogs...
they catch on, pretty quick though...
they meet others, and run around and have fun.... they'll come back and find ya, when they've had enough..... kinda like taking little kids to the playground...
every time I've been there, the large dog area has had alotta people there... its a good way for the dogs to get some exercise, and at the same time, interact with other dogs.... thats the fun part is watching them all play/run, and meet eachother....
when we were there yesterday, I took a walk over to this pavillion type thing they have next to the lake/pond in the large dog area, and there was a huge ol' rotweiler just splashing away in the water, like he didnt have a care in the world...... was fun to watch....
there was actually a lady with a black lab, that was waiting for us to finish up in the small dog area yesterday, because she wanted to bring the lab in there by himself for a while....
she had said, basically the same reason...
the small dog area and the large dog area, actually share a portion of the fence, so dogs can still interact with eachother.... so that might be a good idea, if its the first time there... just to see what he does...
I don't want a lab but a golden retreiver may be alright -I was hoping for a smaller dog this time around- a spaniel of some sort - retrievers are so darned cute as babies!!!
Thanx everyone, today has been tough, there are certain times you just expect to see them and their not there :frown: she used to jump into bed with me in the morning for about 5 min, then she'd go sleep on her pillow, she wasn't there this morning :frown:
I know what you mean. My cats been gone at least a couple years now and I still feel like she's gonna walk around the corner anytime. Kinda weird feeling.
we got a card from the vets office we brought her to, this is the poem on the card, thought I'd share it with the rest of you who lost pets.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

we took them to the dog park in Apple Valley, today...
the one in the purple, is Pedro, and the one in the blue is Ponch...
How big is that dog park in AV? I just drove past it the other day after leaving my dad's place... Never knew it was there...
I find it funny that Carolyn named hers Pablo, because my sister and her guy, had they gotten a 3rd one, would have chosen that name....
Its that Alimagnet one (i think I spelled it right)
theres actually a whole park there too.... baseball fields, etc..
the small dog area is like the size of a backyard...
the large dog area is huge.... its gotta lake for the doggies, and a gravel path that runs around it...
Might have to take my big dog to the small dog part first... He gets intimidated by the cats...
Not even the "devil cat" as much as momma's little angel...
they catch on, pretty quick though...
they meet others, and run around and have fun.... they'll come back and find ya, when they've had enough..... kinda like taking little kids to the playground...

The song that gave her her name...
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into
Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
you made me so happy, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
I need you today, oh Mandy
I'm standing on the edge of time
I Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhyming, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Yesterday's a dream I face the morning
Crying on the breeze
the pain is calling, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy

My Barney looked very similar. I still have dreams about him.
