let everyone but 1 person go. They got rid of their office across the hall -so now they only have the 1 office and I got one of their chairs when they gave away furniture to others in the building.
I'm thinking of attending that meeting - Im wonder who will show up - I think it will be interesting to kick back and observe/people watch.
I might go... the main critique I would have with the winter carnival is that they give all the cities in Ramsey County notice of the medallion hunt and an opportunity to opt out.
I've got about a foot of snow here now, and no signs of it stopping until FRIDAY night! It is expected to lessen somewhat in amounts this evening, but winds will be gusting to 35mph through the rest of the storm, too, so the coastal flood warnings (with waves exceeding 20 ft.) remain in effect too.

I don't think that the Festival and Heritage Foundation has anything to do with the Treasure Hunt. I think that's all Pioneer Press!
I think it would be a fun forum to attend. But other than treasure hunting and attending my first parade, I didn't really take in the Winter Carnival this year.
The parade was a blast, but I think that was because of the group I was with for the parade! :smile:
The parade was fun, but it was way too cold and windy on hariette island. Theres no wind break on the island, so I think it's a bad place to have it. Como would be better, or phalen. The coming out of the vulcs was a huge dissapointment. There was hardly anything there exept a warm up tent. Didn't seem to be a huge draw to me.
The wind does suck down there. But if you thought parking was bad at Harriet, try Como. That sucks even worse. I assume they want to keep it as close to downtown as possible for the most interest and proximity for everyone. And as the Taste has shown us, there really isn't much of a choice other than the Capitol grounds that can hold a decent amount of people that's close to DT. Maybe the lowertown area below Mounds?

The reports coming in are troubleing, the "Say it aint so Crew" is still roaming Central Park in Roseville. Roseville police say 3 scuffles with the crew have occured since the reported finding of "The Puck" . Some reports say the "Say it aint so Crew" will continue looking threw the summer. Some of the "Crew" are still roaming other St Paul Parks in a mission of finding the real "Puck" as they believe the 2 Pucks found were fakes. Some say they will keep looking till the start of the 2008 hunt. Some of the Crew are insisting it is still at Como,Some saying in the frog pond. Some are saying they had another doughnut and yet some are saying the Vulcans have had some hand in the massive deception that the Puck has not been found. Reports from the "Say it aint so Crew" say that the conspiricy runs so deep that truth is only "one inch below the surface". When asked what they ment by that the response was "read between the lines". On a side note - with the exception of some MN homeboys putting it down, live on PPV - Wrestlemania sucked... wasnt worth the money.... i'm glad I sold my ticket to the event, and didnt go....
Next year, it'll be 2 weeks after my b-day... in Orlando.... as of right now, we're planning on being there.
I tried calling Comcast to see if they had a recording or anything saying when we might get service restored, and not surprisingly, the line is busy. :eyeroll:
I woke OTiS up when mine went out. He got messages saying that cable was out all across town. So everyone went out. Which is very unusual. I can only imagine that everyone in the twin cities calling Comcast at the same time. HAHA no wonder the phones were busy. He went back to sleep so I dont know the details of what happened.
It was some national screw up. They did some router maintenance last night that caught up his morning I guess. The whole metro lost everything channelwise up to 99 the SW lost a few other channels that are ADS and then little tiny Manitwoc WI. gets a fiber feed for video and internet from us as well. They lost everything. VOD was hit and miss.
This kind of nonsense is why we are starting to take back OPS from the nation level. They screw things up Wayyyyy to often.
