Damn... that seems to be going around... must be contagious..
Carolyn is trying to sue one of her former bosses now, because she got canned the night of her accident, for not showing up, even though she called like 15 hours ahead of time to let the b**ch know what was up...
update on the accident, by the way...
the police report, indicates that the guy had a revoked license...
the cops didnt take down any insurance info on the dude, other than a company name...
and nobody has ever heard of the company...
they got a fake phone number from the guy... along with a phony zip code for his address...
we're gonna take a drive to his neighborhood tomorrow, and see if we can locate the car, and/or he actually lives where the address indicates...
right now, its looking like he's getting away scott-free...
the impound lot wont let her get anything out of her car, for whatever reason.... making her jump through hoops, to do so - even though the car wasnt actually "impounded" and there are no holds on the p.o.s.
dang, that sounds like a mess. Thats why I want out of the city. Too many people like that around here and we pay for it, by having our rates jacked up.
I saw that column in the east side reveiw and it really hit me. That could have easily been written about my Uncle and Aunt. She just passed away. They used to sit in the driveway in front of their house all the time. Just a couple days ago I visited my Uncle and there was one chair sitting there. I even comented on it saying "I see you've been outside". Then I got home and read that article the next day.
What really hit me is that day in the article is still coming. I'm sure it won't be too long before he can sit with her again. Thats when the 4sale sign will go up.
Last nights performance of Edward Scissorhands at the Ordway.
WOW!
If any of you are looking for something to do this weekend and enjoyed Tim Burtons movie - I would recommend checking out this production. It runs through Sunday.
I used to do exactly what she did. I would drive past a house that this elderly woman lived in and she would be out in her garden or shoveling snow or raking leaves. ... I looked forward to seeing her, even if I only saw her twice a month... it became fewer and fewer times BUT when I did see her outside it felt good and would get teary eyed as I drove past her. I tried to help her shovel once and she looked at me as if I was gonna steal her shovel and wouldn't allow me to help....she died last year ... I went to her estate sale and bought one of her rings. :frown:
I used to see an old guy walking his dog Red all the time. He stopped to rest on my wall and visit if I was in my yard. He told me that Red had been abused and he rescued him. He was a really old dog. Then I saw him a few times walking without Red, and now I haven't seen him at all for a long time. :frown:
my favorite guy is the jogger. He's got a belly on him! I've never seen him lose weight ---always looks the same ...
I'll be driving down the High Bridge and there he is --- I'll be driving through downtown ...and there he is... I'll walk to work sometimes through the skyway...there he is walking in the skyway! Ive seen him cross the Wabasha Bridge and along the Ohio Hill -
I guess the more modern version of that story would be something along the lines of remembering when this cute little old lady used to post all the time with her husband. Then it was only her for a few months then we didn't see a post from her for a few weeks. The next thing was that somebody posted a link to her obituary. :frown:
He sucked then he sucks now. I have Pearcy listed as my worst ongoing disappointment in live music. And that says a lot since I have Axel Rose as my #2. And I've seen more shows than most people I know. :eyeroll:
But, I'm always open for a new take. He might realize that he needs to put food on the table and understands that you need to put forth some effort to get the people to come back the next time you crawl into town.
Please let me know how it goes. I like the tunes anyway.
Doing a U-Turn in the middle of crowded 7th street in DT St. Paul only to stop traffic to get out and hug two strangers in the middle of the street who were holding up 'Free Hugs' signs. :ooh:
My daughter thought I was the coolest guy in town because she just seen this highly viewed YT vid last night.
It wasn't those guys from the Hug Brigade. These people seemed a bit more huggable and didn't approach people. They just held the signs and waited for others to approach them. As it should be. I would have kicked them out of the MOA too. They were coming up to people and forcing themselves on them. And many of the visitors being from out of town didn't know what to think of a bunch of hippies wanting to hug them. Pickpocket anyone? They had the right idea but went about it all wrong is all.
I thought he was good. I did hear some stuff about his attitude from the waitress that had to go pick him up from his hotel. Evidently he demands that as part of his setup. He also required a didcated bouncer as a body guard for him all night. He made an enterance in a entourage style with bouncer in front, the band all in a row, then bouncers in the back like he was really something. He was kind of stuck up. He said at the end to stick around for another set, even though he was done. When they left, they all walked out entourage style and nobody even cared. It was kinda comical. You could tell he really thought he was hot sh#t.
Thats a brilliant idea. I'm gonna get all my friends who are single and in need of a date, dress them up, and one of these fridays when the one corner of downtown is full of anti war protestors, and the other with AT&T employees picketing. I'm gonna line them up with thier signs and see what happens.
D4 and DD's other sibling, the tall volleyball player, just got a new job, working for the big Bear. She'll be moving back to the area (yay for D4!) and starting her new gig on or about June 1 once she packs up the fiance and moves from Tennessee.
Yay for the DD family! (and me, for picking up a quality newbie)
there was a little tiny tiny baby at chili's the other night. It had a lot of hair. For a second I thought the guy was bottle feeding a puppy. Then I realized it was a baby. it couldn't have been more than a regulation sized football.
I know im a little late in responding to this one...
but eh..
whatever...
was gonna post a response, when I saw this... but I never did...
It reminded me of my grandparents on my moms side..
the day that my grandma passed away....
my grandparents had been sitting at their kitchen table, as they often did... drinking their morning coffee.... and talking about whatever plans they had for that day...
company that was supposed to show up... whatever...
doing the newspaper crosswords/jumbles/scrabbble, etc...
my grandpa looked down to write something and at the same time, asked my grandma a random question, and she didnt respond....
