Yes I will

Indeed I will

If I may, if I might

If I can

Once upon a passing night dream

He beheld a mystic image

Bathed in blue reflection

Then he stood and made his song

Closed his eyes to feel the thunder

Echo like a wave around him

Love was in this strange house

And he knew he did belong,

Yes he did belong

Yes I will,

'Deed I will, if I can

And cold it was within the marrow

Waiting like the wounded sparrow

Helpless and forgotten

While the radio played on

Sing your song you fool, you dreamer

Cross the space that lies between us

Cast the stones of fortune

For the journey has begun,

Yes it has begun

So you do,

So you want to be giving

Say it out loud if you need to be holy

So you do,

So you want to be loving

Say it out now

If you need to be holier still

Say you do, Say you want to be giving

Say it out loud if you need to be holy,

And you do and you want to be loving

Say it out now

If you need to be holier still

So it seems or so it may be

I can't know for sure but lately seems

I'm on a journey

To a place I've never been

And baby if I had the answers

I would lay them all before you

Plainly it's a circle,

One that ends and then begins,

And begins again

Yes I will,

'Deed I will if I can

After all these years,

After all these tears between us

Still I couldn't find

Someone half as right as you

And each time I stop to think

What it is I truly need

Here's what I conclude

All I really need is you

Just say what you want to say

You don't have a chance in the world

Can I, knowin' how I've tried

Still come close to losing you, girl

When you are my world

Have I, spent these many years

Tryin' but in vain to tell you

Don't you know it too?

All I really need is you

How could I have known

We'd have ended here

Where we finally did?

You hooked your life to mine

Once upon a starry night

Now when someone asks of me

What it is that I believe

Say, I believe it's true

All I really need is you

Just say what you want to say

You don't have a chance in the world

Can I, knowin' how I've tried

Still come close to losing you girl

When you are my world

Have I spent these many years

Tryin' but in vain to tell you

Feelings come and go

Me, I'm never gonna

Ever let you go

Promise you I'm gonna

Always love you so

And all I really need is you

this one is just plain fun

Lonely lady one, she run away

And number two, she do the same

Lady number three walk out on me

Like number four

Who's keeping score?

Lady five, oh how she lied

She made me pay some dues

Six and seven, eight, nine, ten

They really were bad news

Oh no, they'd only break my heart

That's how it seems

And then I finally came upon

A lady seventeen

Lonely lady number seventeen

She stayed a while

She had the style

Lonely lady number seventeen

She got to be with lonely me

Lonely

Lonely lady number seventeen

Yeah

Lonely lady!

Ladies eleven, twelve and thirteen

They came and went

Baby, I still can hear them sayin'

"It's time to repent"

I turned around and there she was

With such a sweet surprise

A lovin' face, lovin' smile

And love lights in her eyes

Lonely lady number seventeen

You stayed a while

You had the style

Lonely lady number seventeen

Come on and be with lonely me

Oh no

When lady fourteen walked out

That's when I screamed

I had no luck with lady fifteen

Or sweet sixteen

But lonely lady number seventeen

You stayed a while

You had the style

Lonely lady number seventeen

Come and and be with lonely me

Lonely

Lonely lady number seventeen

Yeah

Lonely lady

She makes me feel so sociable

Lonely lady

Number seventeen

Yes

Lonely lady, lonely

Lonely lady

Number seventeen

ok, I'm done now - ::sigh::

havn't done that in a long time

memory - I recently picked up my nephew from elementary school - the new Linwood school which used to be the old OPEN school over on Osceola Ave in St Paul. I was bumped up from 6th grade to 7th grade (yeah, ::blushes :: they thought I'z a smart 1).... they sent me to OPEN - soooo, Maxes kindergarten room turns out to be where I learned how to play the flute (I can still blow on it -but no gaurantee of what noise it will make) ...it's just fun and crazy to get to stand somewhere you have vague memories of and just gaze around.... anyhow, we walk out and I stand outside what used to be, and still is, the lunchroom/auditorium. Just standing there remembering standing in the hallway and what/who was in the auditorium/lunchroom.... back then there was this boy.... he was in a band and played the electric guitar. I walked into the lunchroom and sure enough my memory was correct ...there before me was the stage I used to watch him perform on. talk about feelings flooding back! As I walked out and down the short hallway, I completely felt 13 again! I felt light - and I could feel my whispy hair (I had gotten a haircut from really long straight hair to bangs and shoulder length JUST to be noticed by him.) I stood there trying to figure out if it was real - I thought if I had a mirror Id be staring at a 13 yr old girl! I really felt youthful for those few momments - it was a true twilight zone --- COOL!

I've had that happen twice in my life. Once with school and once with my old house. That's a pretty freaky feeling.

Both my kids went to the same high school I graduated from back in the day.

Even though it had been remodeled some, the auditorium was the same and some of the same teachers were there! That freaked me out!

I went to grade school just down the street. When the church has their Fall Festival, I always go into the school and open up the door to the closet where the janitor kept the mops and buckets. It still smells the same! Smells like strong soap and that saw dust they use on a dance floor. They used that stuff after they cleaned up after someone vomited. :lipsealed: :smile:

My husband and I and all of our children went to SSP high. What was considered the "new" gym when I was in school is now Heritage Hall. They covered up the beautiful wooden floor and use it as a gathering place now. They filmed a Pepsi commercial there with one of the Timberwolves before it was converted.

This guy.

I was in the 100th graduating class at St. Paul Central. If I remember correctly, the first graduating class had like one or two people in it.

Our class was about 400.

What a great topic: crushes on teachers!

My crush was on my high school biology teacher.

Funny, but I can't remember his name anymore! LOL!

I went to my 30th high school reunion in 2001, and two of my favorite history teachers were there.

I told one of them, "I wish now that I'd paid more attention in your classes." He replied, "So do I."

At my 20th reunion, that same history teacher told me that one of the student teachers during my junior year, had a crush on me! I had no clue at the time. But it sure was sweet to hear about it 20+ years later - both that the guy was so enamored, and that the other teachers (who were young pups themselves at the time) were so appropriately protective of me.

I like that SSP highschool.... we did a few speech tournaments there during highschool...

I stole one of their paper cows that they decorated the walls with, for the tourney...

Its still on the folder that I used back then.

I placed 3rd in my category - Humerous Interpretation - at one of those tourneys...

To Sir With Love

Those schoolgirl days

Of telling tales and biting nails are gone

But in my mind

I know they will still live on and on

But how do you thank someone

who has taken you from crayons to perfume

It isn't easy but I'll try

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky

in letters that would soar a thousand feet high

To Sir with love.

The time has come

for closing books and long last looks must end

And as I leave

I know that I am leaving my best friend

A friend who taught me right from wrong

and weak from strong

That's a lot to learn.

What, what can I give you in return

If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start

but I would rather you let me give my heart

To Sir with love.

Those awkward years have hurried by, why did they fly away?

Why is it Sir, children grow up to be people some day?

What takes the place of climbing trees and dirty knees in the world outside?

What is there for you I could buy?

If you wanted the world I'd surround it with a wall,

I'd scrawl these words with letters ten feet tall,

"TO SIR WITH LOVE"

  • sigh*

    I always think of Mr. A when I hear this song. :sheepish: :pbpt:

    As we're talking about teachers on this day. My 8th grade shop teacher would 'celebrate 420' with me many days before and after school. That skewed my whole perception of teachers. Before that, they were this entity that lived in the school and weren't real people.

    I remember that we thought our 5th grade teacher, Mrs Johnson, was in a playboy mag. I still don't know for sure if it was her or not, but it sure looked like her. She also used to kiss our other teacher Mr Bennet in the conference room. I used to have a crush on her. I got mad at her one time and brought a rotten apple from our tree at home and put it on her desk without being seen. She didn't know who did it and never found out either.

    I had Mr Bennet in 3rd and 6th grade. We never had to do any work. We could put our desks any where we wanted and didn't even have any books and could say and do whatever we wanted.

    One requiremnet of the class was to learn how to play chess. We were required to do the "1st 5 moves on every game".

    We also had to feed the lab rats. One got milk, the other water or pop. We took turns bringing them home on the weekends.

    But then once in a while we would come into class and find what we called "6 rows".

    When he got pissed he would put all the desks in 6 rows and we had to sit there very quitly and read the book that was on the desk. Any peep and he'd go into a rage. It was hardcore rules and dicipline when he was mad. Then within a few days of that, we would come back and all the desks would be all scattered again and everything back to normal.

    Not sure what the subjuct of the class was supposed to even be, but I liked it. Oh and I almost forgot, the 6th grade class was all "Line patrols". I went to summer camp and took a test and was supposed to be the "captain" because I had the best score. I was robbed of this though because they let the "bigger" kid be the captain and made me the 1st luitenant.

    Learned a lesson there eh?

    I never really had a crush on any of my teachers- I had a lot of respect for a couple- unfortunately they both passed away. I dated a 6'5" hot gym teacher once - he had teenage girls who drooled over him! he wanted 8 kids though and I was way to young to be married and way to young in the sense that there is this whole world out there still so why him? - I don't know how to explain it- so we didnt last long

    I don't mind, when you act your age

    It suits me fine, that you treat me like a child

    And I can't deny, when I'm with you that you

    Step outside, from all those fears locked up inside

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Your love just takes me away

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Takes me all the way

    What I like, is what you've got to offer

    Just my type, I don't mind playing on the edge

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Your love just takes me away

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Takes me all the way

    Lead me to forbidden doors

    You know I'm yours

    Yeah you've got it, yeah I want it

    Don't you know it babay

    Right on time, a tight fit right on the money

    So sublime, hot sweet cherries on the vine

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Your love just takes me away

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Takes me all the way

    Your love is driving me crazy

    Your love just takes me away

    Your love is driving me crazy

    look what google started ---- uuuuuh

    ironic too - heres a picture I found just yesterday in my collection. I was at the sounding in front of the Union Depot
    (1999 - I video taped it too)

    Rose: Teach me to ride like a man.

    Jack: And chew tobacco like a man.

    Rose: And spit like a man!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Rose: I love you, Jack.
    Jack: Don't you do that, don't say your good-byes.
    Rose: I'm so cold.
    Jack: Listen, Rose. You're gonna get out of here, you're gonna go on and make lots of babies, and you're gonna watch them grow. You're gonna die an old... an old lady warm in her bed, but not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?
    Rose: I can't feel my body.
    Jack: Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me... it brought me to you. And I'm thankful for that, Rose. I'm thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.
    Rose: I promise.
    Jack: Never let go.
    Rose: I'll never let go. I'll never let go, [letting go of Jack's hand and watching him sink] I'll never let go, Jack.
