It's kinda scary at that end of the bridge at night. But you're definitely correct in that I need a night shot before they force us to shut off our halo lights. We already have to do it in foggy conditions.

Maybe you can catch a bird flying into the building in your photo, if the lights are on.

HAHA - It does have some merit I guess. I haven't had the problem in my current building but we did go through spurts where there were a few dead birds laying on the ground outside the St. Paul Companies cafeteria in the morning after foggy nights. It might have been more in St. Paul because the building was shorter and the top was brighter. We actually had 'dead bird clean-up' listed as part of one the day position job duties.

I don't think it's lights that kill 'em though. I think it's reflections that blind them.

I remember one day about 3 years ago I was sitting in the living room with my wife and we had 3 birds fly into the picture window within an hour. I heard that if you put a small peice of tin foil on the windows they can see them then. Must break up the reflection or something.

(Yea I know you can't put tin foil on all the windows in a building)

We get a bunch of birds that hit our windows at home in the spring too. I don't do anything about it because is entertaining watching those black birds bash their own heads into my patio door. HeH

Ice wasn't out yet on Sturgeon Lake this weekend - though I expect it will be by next weekend. Open areas near the shore and an open line across the middle. Weird looking that split is...everyone was talking about it.

The ice went out on Shagwa on this day last year. I hope our recent cold spell was cold enough to extend it a few days.

I think we could be good....as long as the wind stays down...

We need to find places where we can invest some cash and watch it on a webcam..

Cambridge used to have a car parked on the ice....and you guessed the day the car fell through was like $10 a ticket.

Unaired first episode of Gilligan's Island

It's worth a look for the opening credits tune alone. And you were always bummed out because they called the Professor and Mary Ann "The Rest" You'll see who the real stars of the show were supposed to be.

Probably one of the best sitcoms ever made. It ranks up there with All in the Family and Seinfeld if you ask me.
