I was just looking over your earlier discussion...as to what it's hidden in, to the best of my recollection, it's always hidden in something white isn't it? That seems to rule out all the vikings stuff, but not necessarily the card box. I lean toward ace for it's tennis reference though. Any thoughts?

I spent the cooler parts of the morning at Newell... Not too many people there. Phalen was busy both last night and this morning. I lost faith with Battle Creek, too far from the "tracks"?

has anyone walked through the clues with longford in mind? Luther sem isn't too far away (for the religious/simple truth tie) I'm liking the midway area for sure....newill...maybe too obvious.

Clue #5 says it is simple truth to find prize in the first two lines: must take it verbatim, it is a simple clue but making too much out of it;how can we simplify those two lines? Take it for what it is? but HOW?

Climbing Princess:

Please don't make me responsible for the religious/simple truth goose-chase. That thought is a tangent of a tangent of a tangent. LOL to you, but I doubt it'd go anywhere based on that noodle.

I have to go now...it's so hard to type in a straight-jacket.

hey mom -- have you gone past the site of T.H.G. photo #6 to see if there has been an increase in activity? Are you still stuck on this park?

just logged in. what's the current thinking? my interpretation of today's clue is that the keys are "well-trained eye" and "track." The significance of the latter is obvious, but the eye reference could be a street, I'm thinking. My thesaurus has the following synonyms for this: sharp eye, eagle eye, hawkeye, keen eye, and various others that wouldn't work (such as x-ray eye). I like "eagle" some, and "keen" even better. Is there a Kean or similar avenue?

so what is the average font size these (cold) days..

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 11:24 AM Permalink
'mom'

Just add "size=12,14," whatever - and you don't need to put the quotes in.

I can help you change your colors and font, but I am so confused about the stupid medallion.

As for the furnace, I called the company that put it in. They said to turn it off and then back on (like a 'puter!). Did that and it seemed to work! So I called them back and gave them the a-okay. Then it quit again. So I called them back, asked for someone to come out.

Tried something else - cleaned out the prefilters real good, and turned on again. First nothing, then it was on again. After we had heat going for 15 minutes or so, I called and said "never mind" again.

Shortly after that, it quit again. I called again and asked to please send someone - even if it DOES come on again. And it's working now. So at least we are not freezing.

Probably more than anyone wanted to know.....

The hawkeye thing is what's keeping me thinking Newell....Hawkeye Pierce for MASH and Pierce Butler as a road that borders the park.

enough with the fonts already! They're fun, but isn't the purpose of the place to discuss the medallion hunt??? Or did I mistakenly enter the "fonts" water cooler discussion?

kid - just think of it as a short diversion while our brains try to noodle this out. Personally, my noodling is producing mushy spaghetti at the moment.

Has the medallion ever been hidden somewhere other than beneath the snow? In a tree or under something

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 11:32 AM Permalink
'mom'

I don't know if I've ever been "stuck" on the "#6" park...but I do like it. Not sure how these last coupla clues would apply there though.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to come around to Newell, too. Things haven't really "clicked" for me though. I need to go out and see what I can see from there. Maybe everything will come together.

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 11:33 AM Permalink

In recent history, it's been found at ground level in the snow or in grass/leaves, etc. when there has been no snow - not up or in anything else.

Earlier history did find it attached to trees and such...but that is old history.

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 11:34 AM Permalink
'mom'

It has been taped to a tree before, but is usually under the snow.

terry-- yeah, I understand the importance of breaks. But I just got here, so I'm kind of impacient and eager to hear some thoughts on the clues.

Also, I was thinking "lesson" could mean a nearby school, but upon further consideration, I think that the first line is the important one, and they just needed something that would work with the rhyming scheme, and happened to use "lesson you need to apply."
