I just went into Paypal to get a list and figure out where we were.
To date I have a total of $230 (this includes those who are sending me a check).
I have the cost of the brick and then a little extra covered at this time. If you still want to send cash to the paypal account, I will be going to the bank tomorrow to get a Money Order for the total of what I have over the cost of the brick. I was going to get a savings bond but you need more personal information then I have the ability to get (SSN). So I will put the money order in a card that will go along with the certificate. If you choose to donate on your own that is perfectly fine too.
and you as well, nick, i hope we can do something for you, too. i'm a terrible slogger and saw that your dad was ill but missed the post about him passing away. how awful. keep your head up and know you have friends to lean on.
well I got the call yesterday, finally got the time today to say sorry to Brad and to Nick my heart goes out to both of you along with all my prayers. I will see you all tonight just let me knbow what I need to give and I will do it.
Just a suggestion my self and the Band Westside do a lot of benefits to help raise money for things like this We did one for the young man that did from the flu this year,we do the amber alert system, we can do something for Brad and his family too. See you all tonight.
I am leaving work to run some errands and get the Brick taken care of.
I will be presenting the certificate and remaining donations to Brad tonight.
If you still want to donate please feel free, just call me at 612-387-1782 so I can make sure to add it to the total. Same goes if you want to bring money with you tonight if you are going. I will be happy to put it all together if you want.
Thanks to everyone who has donated. I am amazed at the response and I am sure that CM and Ali will be happy and overwhelmed!!
Sad enough, I won't be able to make it to either the funeral, or the get together afterwards :frown: Give Brad my love and my condolences, though. :frown:
He does have family. He will likely be buried in Brewster. I'm sure contact information was in his wallet so they could contact family last night/this morning.
Mostly what I found in his wallet when I was looking for any medical or contact information...was restaurant punch cards! It was kind of cute, really, though I don't mean to make light of this tragic situation...
There was one business card but I don't know the significance of it. No medical cards or that type of thing...
He lives in Princeton now if there's no one left in Brewster. He did say that he doesn't know a lot of people personally in Princeton. But did mention the man who turns out to be a relative of mine if they need a name.
Glad to hear they had at least that much to go on, Terry. I'm sure they will know the family. Dave talked fondly of the get-togethers in Brewster and he was there for nearly every holiday. He loved the feasts they would put on.
If you don't end up collecting enough, please let us know. I don't want getting socked with a big balance.

DOB: 12/21/1942
(i couldn't find anything more)
Reminds me once the night on an election, on the news we saw him at the Republican headquarters for the evening. He had gone mostly for the free food!
They will find his family. From personal experience, when we needed to track down a relative when Inks' brother died...
the sheriff from here will contact the county out there and will contact local law enforcement who will know of the family and will make contact.
Such saddness....
frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: "may you rest in peace Santa Dave"
all i know ... don't have a last name...
