agreed. If it's not REAL cheese. Its not cheese. I've gone through drive throughs and then driven BACK and walked inside if they put cheese on something.
(now real cheese, I love - but if it's not real, it's not cheese)
Kitchy.. I still love you - compatible or not.
I suppose one of your other favs is maple syrup? or perhaps tuna from a can.
I'm not a really a picky eatter -but being that my top 3, tend to be staples for some people sometimes makes it seem that way.
Heck I always hate at the fast food places when they ask if you want cheese on the burger you ordered. NO! If I wanted your gross yellow cheese substitute, I would have ordered a "Cheese"burger.
I've given burgers back too because of cheese issues.
I also won't ever go back to the Tap N Grill in North St. Paul because I ordered a philly cheesesteak sandwich and it came covered in melted american cheese. Everybody knows it's supposed to be swiss, even if some come with fake swiss.
I'm really not all that picky of an eater myself, but if I'm spending $$ to eat, I don't want to eat stuff I don't care for.
I never used to like cheeseburgers. Everytime I'd go to McDonalds to get a quarterpounder you have to ask for one and say very clearly "Without cheese". Usually they repeat it as "a quarter cheese with no cheese". No wonder it usually came with cheese and I had to bring it back. Even the menu lists it as quarter cheese and then underneath says without cheese. Stupid!!
go schedule him a tee time. That is what I used to do to my old boss at my last job. when he was driving me nuts - I'd clear his schedule, call his 3 retired buddies, and make them a tee time.
Then I'd pick up his lunch, go into his office drop it down, and tell him he had to eat, and get the heck out, cause he had a game in an hour.
He really loved me for that. usually I handled everything he would have, with a lot less stress that way.
No way, I just want to kick him out. That sounds like way to much effort, especially today.
He bought pizza for everyone, but it's in his office, so to get it, you have to go in there and deal with him giving you another task or 3 (there's no quick way out of his office, I know him too well).
Enjoy: Having my new water/ice-on-the-door refrigerator and 3 pot direct-feed coffee maker hooked up in our break room outside my office. I ordered it up before I was off and it was all hooked up today. I'm way excited. The first pot is brewing as I type.
next we will just have them run a IV drip to your arm and get you a cart to pull it behind you for the hunt!!! lol we will have to mod. it to serive that hot choco that roseville gave use this last year and then have a line in to it for the captin morgan!!! lol but I found a better spiced rum then captin now so next year I will have to interdus you all to it!!! it is smoth and stronger and better tasting then any morgen I have ever have and CHEEPER TO!!!! sailor jerrys!!!! it's the best!!!
I wasted an hour and a half of my life in that meeting, and I'll never get it back. :eyeroll:
I started off the day so positive, and then I got to work. I kept trying, and then I got stuck with a bunch of petty tasks culminating in a meeting I could have easily skipped.
These are the days I have to remember when I'm offered other job opportunities, or trying to make some positive changes in my life.
Going to see my tax lady to make an apt for June 4th to do my taxes (cause I'm a lazy extension filer kinda gal) and her printing me off the cheat sheet for all the crap I have to bring her & realizing its not actually going to be as bad as I thought.
Knowing the Cooler Crew people and all that they do for each other. I feel so happy, honored and blessed to know the super great group of individuals that make up this crew.
I'll go with you to Carbone's when you come here Eags -
no one I know likes it - I love all kinds of pizza (not keen on Dominos or Pizza Hut though but I'll still eat it)Savoys is real good ~ Carbone's reminds me of my grandma  nice memories
oh and ps... I'd go with you even if I didn't like it because I'd like to spend the time with you - hurry up and get here-chop chop
And some day - sooner rather than later - I need to have some Savoy's. I did once long, long, long ago. I remember it being good. I don't remember anything else about it except that someone had done the take out thing.
What I've noticed about Carbone's pizza is that it's more about the smell than the taste. Their pizzas don't really have much to them but they and the restaurants smell fantastic. A real genuine pizza smell. Kinda like the old Sal's pizza place in the K-Mart mall in Cottage Grove. The smell was everything.
You know CM, that's exactly what I remember of a pizza place called Sorini's that used to be up near Snelling on University. We went up now and again when I was in high school.
And then carried that tradition forward when we were first married.
The smell was enough to make you think you were starving! The pizza was good though too.
And Papa Mike's smelled that way.
Most pizza places smell like pizza - but some smell even better. I wonder what it is.
I am starting not to be all the rave about savoy's like i used to...not really caring for the sauce.
I like this joint i found in dinkytown about a block to the west of mcdonalds...forgot the name of it...pizza's by the slice and they have all kinds....my fav. is the mac and cheese pizza.
I also like "old world pizza" in IGH kittycorner to applebees.
ofcourse I also like the $5 pizza from little ceasers  just cuz its cheap.
I'm not sure how much Angelo's or Carbone's have changed their recipes over the years, but Angelo's was started by a guy who used to have a Carbone's franchise. He altered one ingredient by a smidgin' but otherwise they were the same pizza.
Hey (as Santa Dave would say)!!! We could have a bring-your-favorite-pizza get-together!
Golfing with this guy: jonathan cain heck of a nice guy.
but that wasn't the true enjoy - the true enjoy was 2 fold
1) a drive that landed 7.25 feet from the hole (and yes, it was mine) 2) our team finishing 9 under par for 3rd place - tie. (the #1 finished 22 under par - jerks)
blessed with wonderful friends who would drive 30 miles to come get me when stranded- ty - I love you guys/girl dearly
(now real cheese, I love - but if it's not real, it's not cheese)

I love mushrooms, love bell peppers and love onions.
but I won't eat the 3 of the together. There is some strange smell that comes from the 3 put together that just turns my stomach.
Any two in the combo is fine, but all 3 - forget it.
:0)

And right back at cha D4
Now I just need to get my butt in gear and do something with them.
I also need a web designer - who works cheap - or better yet - for wine.
I miss Carbone's. Its the first place I go when I land in the cities.
This university town has a lot of pizza places, but I haven't found one that makes me hungry for pizza.

I too wish you'd get moved back here. We miss you. Thank goodness for computers so we stay in touch.

side note (and so I dont get in trouble): Pizza Magic is the best!
If circumstances allow, I might be down in mid-June for son Mags' 31st birthday party.

Oh well.
It's all about Hearthside Pizza. My friend Vanessa and her boyfriend took me to both carbone's and savoys when I was there. It was ok.
I'm not a huge pizza fan, but I do applaud the restaurants there for offering green olives on pizza. You can't find that here.
But you can get alot of other wierd stuff - like cobb pizza.
