The point of post Cosmo Cat 1/28/00 2:05PM is to stop everyone from trying to find quadruple clues in a single clue.. i.e. rapscallion in clue #1... IT MEANS NOTHING!! and enough with this well-trained eye = hawkeye = hawkeye pierce = pierce butler... too many links in that chain...
AND I ALSO REPRESENT GARAGE LOGIC... although some may say I'm nested in Liberal Lakes... and my CI is 0!!!

I know that also at the battle creek off of 61 on the cliff there an old friend of mine carved something on there when his father died. I was wondering if anyone can remember what it says. Does it fit anything? I know that they did only hide it in battle creek 5 years ago but who knows. For all they know they could have hidden it in Conway again just to throw us off.
I have to run to the bank in a while and will drive by battle creek off of 61... ill let e1 know what the scene is in about 2 hours... not a search choice of mine but i will gander by and give a report
Hey ya'll how about this: well-trained eye = hawkeye =the Iowa hawkeyes =Iowa street that runs right into Phalen, Even though it runs into the golf course, just noodling
I agree Cosmo. Can't have long chains. Last year when "trees in a line" meant Woodrow, which led to Wilson, the clue specifically spelled out each step along the way.
I still say there's NOT too many links - last year with Conway it went from "trees in a row" = wood row = woodrow wilson, wilson was a street that ran along Conway.
As far as the good hunter thing from last nights clue goes. Is there any good hunting areas around phalen? or something from the past? BEing a hunter does not mean it has to be a medallion hunter.
trees in a row translates into Woodrow which really doesnt translate into anything beyond that other than adding Wilson on... but that was last year... enuf with conway... point being hawkeye doesnt conjure up pierce like woodrow conjured up wilson...
I hope that tonight's clue is a good one that so at least I will know where the hell to go instead of waisting tanks of gas driving all over St. paul every day just to check things out because it could be anywhere.
Last year it said think first of trees in a line, Then, from this a name will emerge. It was very specific that Woodrow was not the answer and that you had to take a second step. So, unless it tells you to take that second step, I say don't.
clue 6 "apply" the shipping co across the street has an application sign out...newell. "inspection". MN Dept. OF Health has an office close by (closer to midway).
I also thought maybe a well trained eye meant that perhaps you could see the medallion if you looked carefully and you didn't need to dig (I know--sacrelidge!)
why doesnt everyone try doing something different for awhile... how about acting as if we live in china and have no idea what the parks names r... they havent given it to us anyways... why not just figgure out what the clues may contain and then when they do give the park away.. zero in from there... everyone is reaching WAY to far to make it fit their park of choice

I think I am going to head out to Phalen and Newell this afternoon. Anybody else heading out today?
a CI of zero??? sounds very euphorian to me...
I am with you cosmo. I think that they are trying to make the clues fit the park that they want.
Hey ya'll how about this: well-trained eye = hawkeye =the Iowa hawkeyes =Iowa street that runs right into Phalen, Even though it runs into the golf course, just noodling
Okay...I'm back form work...let the weekend begin..Woohoo!!!...what have I missed?
I agree Cosmo. Can't have long chains. Last year when "trees in a line" meant Woodrow, which led to Wilson, the clue specifically spelled out each step along the way.
A CI of 0....
oooohh. I'm not much in front of you, CC.
I still say there's NOT too many links - last year with Conway it went from "trees in a row" = wood row = woodrow wilson, wilson was a street that ran along Conway.
my zero CI is not by choice...
cosmo cat-- glad to see a voice of reason. digging to deep only gets you shovels full of snow and dirt.
but i still have no good ideas of my own. gotta run; be back soon.

Hmmm, Mom, we're almost thinking alike.
Two problems with Battle Creek... construction zone by the school and playground, area off 61 doesnt even have plowed parking lot
I didn't know I haven't been there I was just wondering if any one had checked it out.
Actually last year I took that clue to mean an "Arbor queue" say that fast and what does that suggest to you.
I think the medallion will be found tomorrow...tonights clue is going to blow it wide open
trees in a row translates into Woodrow which really doesnt translate into anything beyond that other than adding Wilson on... but that was last year... enuf with conway... point being hawkeye doesnt conjure up pierce like woodrow conjured up wilson...
I know what it translates to now, but I liked my explanation as well.
Obviously it does for some, not for others.
Time will tell. I personally don't believe it's that far of a path to go from Hawkeye Pierce to Newell..but then I was/am a die hard M*A*S*H fan.
Hawkeye does conjure up Iowa.

Has anyone ruled out Swede Hollow...and if so why?
they used a Hawkey reference sometime in the early 1980s to signify Pierce Butler road. Would they do it again?
I tied last night and could not even find an accessable area to Swede Hollow. How the hell do you get there.
I don't know Alan. It works for me at the moment.
I have NOT ruled out Swede Hollow. Still, I have no explanation for clue #5 for that park.
I also thought maybe a well trained eye meant that perhaps you could see the medallion if you looked carefully and you didn't need to dig (I know--sacrelidge!)
I believe it is at Radar O'Reilly park!
Allison that's what I took that clue to mean right away.
Swede Hollow is right off of Payne and 7th st. Right by Metro State and the Downtowner carwash
why doesnt everyone try doing something different for awhile... how about acting as if we live in china and have no idea what the parks names r... they havent given it to us anyways... why not just figgure out what the clues may contain and then when they do give the park away.. zero in from there... everyone is reaching WAY to far to make it fit their park of choice
Grab your shovels, to Radar park we go!!!! Every clue fits, even the Teddy Bear reference.
Fianally some people that are thinking like I am
But what about Trapper John Park?
Radar park is right on target!
LOL @ Alan
I heard they just renamre a park "Hot Lips" is that helpful?
I think that is basically waht people are doing to the clues
I like Frank Burns park myself!
Trapper park is in Roseville. Sorry. I know where Swede Hollow is just not how to access it.
Or Sherman T. Potter Park! Or what about Klinger Park?
M*A*S*H -- ROFLMAO
ive been reading all the posts for days and im getting the feeling im at a cellulite convention with all the stretching going on in here
Hello everyone any ideas yet on this clue #6?
