Yeah, I'm getting contacted by the parks and rec person on Monday. I'm sure they'll ask how I found it.
That was crazy, I never expected it would ever work, but there ya go.
Going from the first three clues, it is possible to narrow it to that general location. And I guess I did use luck to "find" it. Posen said he would discretely pass on the website info to the parks people later. In actuality, it's an embarrassing mistake for them.
I heard Columbia Heights was found today, any luck there Nick? I didn't hear where it was found.
Somebody asked where the heights medallion was... Sullivan Lake Park. I cant believe it.. I took Pablo there almost every day.. blah! It was wedged in a bench, and from what I heard, it was in memory of a Norm someone, hence the Silver Belle is a Christmas tune
Not Norm...ally heard in June
Im still looking for the explaination of the clues.. post more when I know more
Thanks! Actually that goes for everyone that's said it to me.
I still don't think I deserve any congrats though, heck, I just exploited a weakness. I'm sure it would've only been a matter of time before someone else did anyway.
I wish people would get a hold of me, I'm trying to get stuff in order, but have to wait to hear from this or that person to figure out what I'm doing and when.
heh, eventually I'll get there, but I got all these darned gift certificates to use up.....
Here's the Tally for the Roseville Hunt (I got the stuff tonight at their closing event at Central park, lucky me, they didn't even ask how I found it).
Green Mill $50
Dunn Bros Coffee $100
Timber Lodge Steakhouse $100
Outback Steakhouse $90
Applebees $100
Macaroni Grill $100
2 30 Min Massages from Rocco Altobelli $80
Parking Pass and 4 ride tickets for the Ramsey County Fair (judging from the site I'd guess this is worth about 10 bucks)
6 $15 Gift Certificates to Rosedale Mall $90 total
2 REI Gift Certificates, unknown amount, think I'll stop in tomorrow and check (the website didn't specify)
2 1 night stays at the Marriott in Roseville (who knows how much these are worth, depends on the night)
I think it's well over 700 bucks worth of stuff anyway.
lol! Sorry Kat, I didn't mean to say anything bad about that.
In fact I might go this year because of those tickets, and it would be the first time that I've ever gone.
Crazy considering I go to the state fair just about every year.
Unless they haven't brought back the Technology building they replaced with that ecofriendly garbage (literally, they had a huge pile of garbage as an exhibit in there). I was pretty upset that they decided to do that. No offense to the ecologically minded, the Fair could have put in another building for that, or even temporary tents, which are more ecologically friendly anyway.
no, just two nights at the marriot. Last time I gave mine away, as it's only good in roseville... Oh, and I just found out the REI certificates are $50 each, so I got $100 there.
The Vadnais Heights Heritage Days Medallion Hunt - $200 prize! Begins on Monday, August 14, with clues posted at City Hall, Community & Kohler Meadows Parks, and the medallion hotline number at 651-204-6017. Sponsored by Community National Bank.
We have been working on the Maple Grove hunt. Tomorrow's clue is the final clue. My dad is coming over early to watch the boys so I can go out. HOWEVER!! These clues suck!!
Does anyone see anything in here that stands out terribly that we may have missed? Thanks in advance guys!!
Someone should totally do a mock hunt since there's a bit of a lull in the local hunts right now. I remember some dude who found my golden egg at highland saying he was going to do the next one...
I love this. You deserve it Joel!
We just tried that with the other hunt and they were smart enough to encrypt their address.
Funny stuff

I guess I could say I got lucky, very lucky...
at least what I remember of it.

It got pretty late for us, last night.... so we never made it back out there
Congrats on the find.

That sucks, it was the only park I had on my list that I didn't look in....

Date Clue
6/6/2007 Maple Grove, our fair City
With trails and parks that are so pretty
People come to work or play
And find out soon they want to stay
Search the city high and low
And buy your button before you go!
6/13/2007 Take your pole out on the pier,
They say the fish are biting here.
Rocks and hills and swimming geese
Amid the noise youÂ’ll still find peace.
Where little kids take off in flight
While I stay here out of sight.
6/20/2007 Townhomes, cattails, and lots of spruce
With ducks and turtles on the loose.
Be careful if you climb the hill,
Remember the tale of Jack and Jill.
6/27/2007 The waterÂ’s here, you want to swim,
But at this park, you canÂ’t dive in.
So park your bike by the creek,
To find the trail that you seek.
7/3/2007 Stop a while, enjoy the sounds,
The fun youÂ’ll have knows no bounds
The treasure waits for your discover
If you hear the siren, run for cover
7/11/2007 To find the name of the park
Read the clues from the start
Where the path splits the woods
Look left or right to find the goods
Boundry Creek.....
But there are no hills there....which is just funny...We dont see another park that fits.
But for a final clue...they arent giving you much to go on!!!
a playground with an airplane type of dealio, or a rocket-ship, or something?
a tornado siren nearby?

Funny...today was the last clue. Noone has found it...
They have until 3 pm tomorrow.
