I may be a bit late on posting this but as much 9/11 footage I have, I've never seen this stuff. It's raw and mostly unedited taken from the 36th floor from a building not far from the WTC. I can't turn away.
9-11 hit me hard back then and seeing this has me bawling right now. We always talk about it at work when we're going to the higher floors but it brings it all back to me now. That's the best footage I've seen outside of those French boys. It made me feel as if I was filming the IDS or something. Just think of those people who look out their window every day and don't see that monolith complex of humanity any longer. Fortunately, they do see hope being built right before their eyes anyway.
This is tough shit indeed. Like they say at the beginning, watch the whole thing in it's entirety to really understand the feel of New Yorkers during that time. But if you want to FF to the really tragic stuff, go to 19:30. That has to be the best footage I've seen of the North tower collapse. :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:
Sorry if I bummed any of you out but I had to post it for my own reasons.
thanks for sharing. Yeah, it's hard to watch, but there are a lot of people that just want to gloss over that day and forget it. While I see their points, I also understand it's important to remember it.
YWKC - I see the point now more than ever! As much as I felt for those victims and families of 9-11 it did start to fade for me. Sad as it is, it took my own tragedy to really appreciate the loss that they're going through.
I see why people say what they say after a death as I want to say that my grief can't compare to those who lost a loved one during 9-11. I know now that it's not any different of how, who or what you loose, it's the impact on your life that makes it all the same. I can easily see how some Grandma of 40 years loosing a wedding ring can compare to a child loosing a loved pet to someone loosing a long time spouse to loosing a leg or any other loss that impacts your soul can all have the same deep dark feeling.
I asked Amy to talk to those 9-11 victims and let them know we still remember. :frown:
Its an excellent and very important point that we can't compare grief.
I still say there are worse things than I've been through, although I've been though some horrible stuff.
However, I would never think that I have *worse* grief than someone else. Its such a personal experience.
One's grief is not greater than, nor lesser than, someone else's. Its just DIFFERENT. And because its personal, it may very well be the most difficult grief they've experienced.
Hey KC - Wasn't it you who was capturing the last Ice Castle being built with me? I don't think I have that prog any more. Would work pretty cool for this thing going up. Ground breaking is only a couple of weeks away.
In honor of one of my most anticipated movies to see in years - here's a guy playing the Simpsons theme on two different guitars at the same time. WOW!
True.. I was referring more to that year. It just sucks that "The Greatest Country In The World" only really cares about one another when tragedy happens, otherwise, to each his own..
As sad as it is, I think we all need to revisit the events of that day from time to time. I knew there would be stuff like that out there. I wouldn't be surprised if there was plenty more where that came from. There are quite a few people who live in that area that I'm sure would be like me and try and capture every single moment on tape.
While printing my coupons I noticed my ink is getting low. There's a sign at Wallgreens that says they fill ink cartridges for some low price. Is that for real? Any brand? Has anyone done that?
other than the artist formerly known as

Another one
I will add to that, however, that I think it's sad that it takes a tragedy like this to unite our country.. :frown:
When I watched the 1st time, my computer musta screwed up because it ended just before the collapse for me.
Because of your post, and CMs reply, I rewatched and got to see the collapse this time.
Thanks for posting that CM, and thanks for commenting on it GB.
so I tried HALF a bottle of this stuff...yep works...
The ice palace was cool because it was up and down in a few weeks time. The ballpark will take a couple years to develop.
Even twice yesterday  Thanks :sheepish:
