It's not at Newell--I just got back from there--too many peoplek, too early....Went at lunch and after work--My theory--the puzzle writer HATES NEWELL PARK! All of the digging, but no glory!
Howdeeeee.... does everyone think that the training reference and on the right track means RR (train) tracks? Or is anyone thinking of it in the athletic sense as in physical training and a running track as in track and field??? :)
A "Hunter" always on the attack that a person witha good eye can see is the constellation Orion. He is looking West in the night sky. Does that mean the western side of St. Paul? Or near
Remember, there have been many clues relating to the sky (rain, cloudy,...). Inform me of any feedback.
Cougar... I thought the well trained eye could also mean a reference to a target range... as in bow and arrow ...etc.... but the trained part might just mean RR trains... or athletic training.... ?? :)
Has anyone thougth that Rapscallion could mean a Vulcan? I hadn't thought of that till now. Also right track might mean just that - if there is a right and left track, it could be the right track - like an athletic track or any walking track or path.
And a tower or two could mean one "tower" and the NUMBER 2.... food for thought.... anyone notice that the snowman on all the clues in the paper is holding a magnifying glass??? Well trained eye??? :o)
Newell can handle this hunt. It's handled it before...and that year the park was swarming with hunters. The snow was piled high..but it was still found late on the last day.

A tower or two has no guarentee of anything it doesn't say you will see a tower or to or that you can see a tower or two it's all that you should but, maybe you won't
Yeah it still there
Rice is a good one I think but, everyone can think differently
I don't think so - but the Ice Sulptures are beautiful this year though.
It is not at Rice!
Saw the coke can at Linwood, thought it was fake, Hit the root out at Keller, with shovel or rake,
Was in the same barn, with the horseshoe at fair, Gave up to soon at Newell, when I knew it was there,
Have frozen my nose, and toes, But not in vain or jest, Wish I was there, For that great treasure quest
A good hunter stays on the attack, instead of going on defense (the fence)? That line is still bothering me.
JOE!
A DOUBLE JOE! 6:56!
Do train tracks have names?
The way everyone stretches everything is amazing
Train tracks belong to one railroad or another, Allison. The Soo, The BN, etc.
That's a fake JOE not a real JOE!
Allison -- to back up your last idea, there is a huge snow fence at Linwood Park!!
Hey folks- just got in from Newell- all that can say is that I am getting real frustrated
TV you're gettin a lttle too deep now! Relax, kick back and clear your mind!
The clues are starting to suck you in deep!
You have to jump out before they eat you alive!
If "the attack" were a name of a train track, clue 6 would make total sense.
Where in the clue does it say anything about what you are talking about alison? I think you are digging yourself into a hole.

That's what I think also Dave - PP hates Newell!!!
I'm going to tell yall something right now!
Swede Hollow at night would be one cool spot to seek the treasure!
I'm tellin yall that this place is unique!
Yall might be afraid to go down there but I think it's OK now!
There's no other PARK like it in the cities!!
I betcha Highland will end up being the sleeper....everyone loved it at first, but now nobody even mentions it.

New Ideas To Quander:

I think w Well-trained eye means a well trained eye and nothing is is intended
Cougar... I thought the well trained eye could also mean a reference to a target range... as in bow and arrow ...etc.... but the trained part might just mean RR trains... or athletic training.... ?? :)
Who is King Boreas' this year?
Does anybody make anything of the repeat of "well" read this well, well trained eye..........
It's a word people use a lot of probably means nothing
Has anyone thougth that Rapscallion could mean a Vulcan? I hadn't thought of that till now. Also right track might mean just that - if there is a right and left track, it could be the right track - like an athletic track or any walking track or path.
Dave are you going to get a paper tonight instead of telling us how many cars are pulling up to PP?
Dave.... as in NeWELL?? Although I don't think that is the park.... but who knows yet? So many still fit the bill... :)
A well trained eye could be something like the lens of a camera too.
What Kiwi just said, made me think o'something.
"Well-trained" has a double mean.
There have been many 2's in this year's clues. Many doubles. Not that that's a clue in and of ittzself. But it could bee.
Or bicycles on the left, walkers on right, or a pair of RR tracks, or a throwaway phrase.
Heres my take on #6
train tracks all the way... 'well-TRAINed' also jumbles to Triad Newell (Try at Newell)
be on the right track... BN TRACK
Really like the Orion ideal. He's in the southern sky and his arrow points east.
Kinda funny -- here are clues 5 & 6 from 1952....why can't they still be like this....hahahaha
Clue 5
Boreas' loot is hid near trees
To guard it against Vulcan's thieves.
Underbrush lies here and there;
We hope you find the treasure's lair.
Clue 6
Above the ground but under the snow
The thousand bucks will almost glow.
If, however, the snow should go,
Underbrush or leaves will cover the dough.
I think everyone is reading these clues to well, start thinking of other parts of the clues and maybe it will help.
Newell is to small of a park.

that was sooooo funny downtown. sound par for the course too.
There was also alot of vandalism done to the park, the PP was pissed and so were the people who lived by the park.
