#3 is saying you will see the tower or Two ONLY if you look in KIng Boreas' direction... (either North or to St. Paul)...
When I say I 'should' be somewhere by 8 that means maybe not but most likely i will... seeing the towers to the north SHOULD guide you to the prize, but maybe not.... point being is that the Tower or Two WILL BE VISIBLE
This clue is from 3 years ago @como.....note their use of the word "track". It is intended to refer you towards railroad tracks...something to think about.
Clue 2
Your cure for displeasure could be this treasure
As you track north through the ice and snow.
You might consider a scarf for good measure;
It will help tell you in which direction to go.
This clue gets you looking in the northern portion of the city as well as north of the railroad tracks near Bandana Square; the scarf may lead you to think of Bandana Square, but it's also a direct reference to the red scarf the medallion was wrapped in.
well, heres a thought if it really has said twice in it evrytime and that's what they want you to figure out maybe it is cherokee park since it has been hidden there twice since 1990
I agree Cat... surely visible!! And I believe they will be to the north.... good picking that out green! Maybe we should all put on our tutu's and go dig? LOL!! :)
clue #'s 5 and 6 BEG us to read into them for hidden words... and i think ive found them... everyone agrees with 'Fair' from #5 i think...
and i just posted the --- be on the right track = BN 'the right track' (runs flush against newell park) and the 'well-TRAINed'=Triad Newel (try at newell) ideas... soemone please either SHOOT THEM DOWN OR AGREE!!!... i feel like triad newell is akin to chair-o-key...
www.lileks.com is a huge web site that Mr. Lileks does on his own with no connection with Star Trib. It has no advertising, and is done for his own amusement. And for mine, and whoevers. Try the items under "The institute for cheer"--especially the gallery of regrettable food. I think he uses web site as a test market for his writings..... if you want more info, I can e-mail it to you, since I am sure medallion people will tire of this...

Instead of looking north or towards St. Paul, who is the person that was named King Boreas' this year? Who does he work for or what company does he own and where is it located?
I read an article in the paper that stated that King Boreas was King of the Winds, not a specific wind. He assigned his four brothers to the four winds. How does this fit in with the clues? I thought he was King of the North Wind until I read the legend in the paper.
It worries me when you start talking numbers, Green.
I like the BN track thing. I'll agree with that...at least until the next clue either shoots the whole thing down or we end up being at the right park.
but Kiwi... its far from a consensus on my ideas... which could be good or bad for me i guess... but they usually try to throw people of without making them read into clues AT ALL... such as hunting + attack = BATTLE creek
Sorry Kiwi... I don't agree.... I truly believe the tower will be in sight... for sure!! :)
There was also alot of vandalism done to the park, the PP was pissed and so were the people who lived by the park.
There was also vandalism there a couple years ago that had nothing to do with the hunt.
And I didn't see vandalism going on when we were out there...and that was lots and lots of hours.
Vandalism where?
Here's an idea everyone get drunk and high and then start talking about the clues.
I think you already are KIWI
Kiwi you are a looser!
Looking back at the clues, each and every one has a "two" in it.
Twice named the park.
Two races
Two towers
Two places to gain relief from the rain - that serve cooking
Two words with one antonym
Two tracks
No but, It might help for the people with ine track minds atleast I am open to everything except the way stretched crap

Downtown Dave what category is it under? At the trib's page.
Has anybody considered the "eye" in the "well trained " clue could refer to the letter "i"?
so what are you saying Green?
Actually, the easiest way to prevent vanadlism (tip from my neighborhood watch days) is to have a steady supply of people!

Green - I think you were doubling things up last year...or was it the year before too!
Has anyone picked up on the clue within the clues yet?
I agree Cat... surely visible!! And I believe they will be to the north.... good picking that out green! Maybe we should all put on our tutu's and go dig? LOL!! :)
troy and kitty, it's called the back fence
Ter, that was '98... I doubled EVERTHANG!
This, however, is not based on math, but reading the clues.
Maybe all the "two's" will be a reference somehow to the year 2000??

well, I still think rice is a possibility
Maybe there are 2 medallions
And, Ter, don't furget 98's "line o'double division" that left me totally clueless and in the dark! :>
Troy and Kitty-- in startrib his column is www.startribune.com/fence

Well maybe they are begging for you to do this only because it will throw you off the track
Local now I think you are on to something

Thanks, DDave. I found it. Anyone out there like Orion the hunter deal?

Boreas it self means north
Therese -- in mythology, king B is considered "the north wind"
but Kiwi... its far from a consensus on my ideas... which could be good or bad for me i guess... but they usually try to throw people of without making them read into clues AT ALL... such as hunting + attack = BATTLE creek
Kiwi, please explain how Boreas' means north?
I'm not surprised, Terry. It SHOULD. Knowing you know how bad I am with them...
Anybuddy want me to bring 24 POUNDS o'potatoe salad to *this* Re-Hash Bash????
Or should I bring a ham I've baked 16 hours?????
that is what someone had said way earlier according to something who knows
Kiwi, please explain how Boreas' means north?
If boreas or king boreas is king of all winds then which park is in the middle of north south east and west?
I just did a minute or so ago
KIWI... the 'central' park wouldnt be LOOKING in king boreas' direction... im just caught if it means look to st paul or north or Both
has everyone ruled out Highland??
10/4 on St Paul Kiwi.
went to the website of lilek where on the page are the clues explained i see no mention of clues at all.
If king boreas's direction is south north east and west the park in the middle you could look north south east and west
or be in the direct middle of all of these
