today is crazy.

winemaking decided not to crush yesterday(holiday) so we essentially have double the work today.

and so far - nothing has gone right, cause people made their own decisions yesterday about stuff.. and didn't tell anyone.

ugh. I hate this.

Yeah, that's the stupid thing about attendance there.

It doesn't matter how many people filter through the building, what matters is if they found the experience enjoyable, profitable, or even worth their time.

I can run in and right back out of there and still be counted as if I spent the entire afternoon there. What's better is they'll count me every time I enter, no matter if I just left to find something/someone and had to go back in again.

If it's back next year, I'm avoiding the place like the plague, or I'm going to enter on the side where the bathrooms are, they don't have a counter posted there.

Seeing this: There were no tickets available that matched your request as I tried getting Hannah Montana VIP presale tickets today.

So much for buying into a popular fanclub

 :eyeroll:

I didn't have any problems getting my presale members only TOOL tickets. They limited them to 2 tickets for each member and you could only buy them for the venue closest to your address to prevent out of state scalpers. I'm guessing the scalpers gobbled up all of these the second they went on sale. :frown:

idiots (i know that is a HUGE list there)

We put up flyers two weeks ago - that say - you cannot park along the maple trees - this is truck parking only.

On the trees - we hung signs that read - do not park here, GRAPE TRUCK PARKING ONLY.

So today - when I am slammed with trucks - like everyone showed up at once slammed - and I need to park them... guess what?

There are two idiots who are parked there. So now I have big doubles in the middle of the drive way - out into the road & I am looking for the idiot owners.

I find them and say - you have to move your car.

why? cause you are in Grape Truck Parking..

well - I drive a truck, and i brought in grape samples (these are seasonal employees...)

insert me counting to ten..

and then saying as calm as I can - get your truck out of the way - go park in the parking lot that is 5 feet away from where you are now & don't park there again... got it?

They are clueless. i think tho the fact that I almost lost it with them.. may have killed them.

Um, it's really obvious where the parking lot vs. the grape line is. They deserve whatever you gave them for being stupid.

Then add our paper vendor to that list.

The guy complains, daily, that we send them a bunch of orders after 4pm. I have told him, daily, that our customers make up their orders over the day, and them submit them before they leave for the evening.

I know he thinks I'm hoarding purchase orders all day to send them during the last hour, but the man won't listen to the simple logical facts. I can't make our customers order paper earlier in the day, it's called the customer is always right.

Apparently though in our case, since we're the customer to this paper supply company, we're the ones that are always wrong.

Assuming we were Ok after all the rain that came thru over the first weekend of the fair - Went away for the holiday weekend -

Came home to find that our storage room (under our front step) actually accumulated a ton of water and the plastic liner we have in the room had 2 very small holes in the top - so it slow leaked taking a week to work its way into the carpet in the basement -

All of our xmas stuff is in there, but majority was spared because they are in rubbermaid tubs - but all gift wrapping was wiped out (so much for the stocking up after the holidays) and my expensive doll collection fared Ok (one doll was damp, but found the problem before too much mold set in) haven't looked at any of the candle holders yet - I figured they will all need to be cleaned, we can smell the mold -

While this does irk - it's nothing compared to those down south who lost so much more...

"Joel my computer is still locking up" "When is this going to get fixed"

That's it!!!! My coworkers just lost their web access privileges, just as soon as I get the main issue solved.

The only real reason they care about having to reboot their computers is they lost the webpage they were surfing on. Screw that, this is a business for pity sake, GET YOUR FREAKIN WORK DONE!

Nah, we do too much stuff that requires access to the net and specific webpages. I'm going to lock them out of everything else.

I'm just sick of phones ringing and people shirking off work just so they can look for purses and use myspace. And when their computers get a virus or start freezing up because they have too many webpages open, all the sudden I'm the one getting chewed out for it.

So fine, I'll fix their computers, I'll fix them real good. Then let them just try once, just once, to come up to me and complain that they can't get on the net.

Too bad, go to the library on your break, better yet, since you're all so fond of leaving early anyway, go home and surf.

I've tried playing the nice guy, and all it's gotten me is more and more headaches.

Maybe then for once we wouldn't need to hire more help, because the employees here would be so bored they're actually looking for work to do.

What irritates me: waiting for the final three seasons of Cheers to be released on DVD. Frasier season 10 has been announced for December - that will complete the series. But no word on Cheers 9, 10, or 11. Meanwhile, there are complete sets out for some of the dumbest shows that could not possibly sell the numbers Cheers would.

hear you eags.. they just released season 2 of 90210.. that show will be off the air - 10 years next year.. and they are on season 2.

I now have 1 & 2 - but I can't watch them until it's complete.

I loved that show so much - when they announced the last 8 shows - I stopped watching, started taping it - and never watched them. It was like I got to break up with them first.

or something.

wow. that's a lil pathetic.

Naw, that's not pathetic! Everyone's got their favorites they like to follow. I am currently renting all the Netflix DVDs of Frasier, in order, since I missed that show when it was on originally. From 1974-1991 I worked evenings and from 1994-2001 I traveled for work, so I missed a lot of TV shows when they were in their first run. I am really enjoying watching Niles and his antics. He is a riot.

I have a friend (? soon to be ex friend I think) who has been trying to start a business for the past 4 years that I've known her.

When I first met her - she had a bf who supported her as she tried getting started. he got sick of her blowing through his money & basically not working and kicked her to the curb.

Since then, (about 3 years now) she's lived w/ her mom. She dates men who are well to do - so that she can go places & always complains that she doesn't have any money. For a while - many of us would buy her a drink when we went out etc. etc. but she just started milking it.

and I mean REALLY milking it.

two months ago - when I went on the radio to promote my car wash - she came with, along with another friend. She tried to turn the air time into a promotion for her website/biz (sex toys) when we were there to promote a fundraiser for children (I nipped it in the bud -right there)

Well, I'm friends with the DJ - and have been cutting promos for him, etc. etc. etc. (although none since harvest) she is trying to woo him, into letting her be on his show - to talk about 'toys' once a week, to self promote her business.

which he won't & can't do - cause a) she can't mention her biz name - it would be free advertising & his company won't let him do that and b) she doesn't have a good radio voice.

well - Mr DJ - announced yesterday on the radio that he is doing a big show Saturday night for his B-day party. I happen to have tickets... she knows that - she is pleading with me to take her (I'm not) now she is trying her hardest to get a *date* to take her (cause it's kinda expensive)

downloaded the song "gold digger" onto my phone and made it her ringtone....

The funny thing is - she refuses to get a job. Cause she is 'struggling at her craft' as she calls it. If she got a job - any job - heck working as a barista somewhere - she could have some $ and possibly some intergrity.

and NO I don't have a beard ....

:eyeroll:   :goofy:

I got rice cooking in the microwave

Got a three day beard I don't plan to shave

And it's a goofy thing but I just gotta say

Hey, I'm doing alright

Yeah I think I'll make me some homemade soup

Feelin' pretty good and that's the truth

It's neither drink nor drug induced

No, I'm just doin' alright

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good?

It's been fifteen years since I left home

Said good luck to every seed I'd sown

Give it my best and then I left it alone

Oh I hope they're doin' alright

Now I look in the mirror and what do I see?

A lone wolf there starin' back at me

Long in the tooth but harmless as can be

Lord, I guess he's doin' alright

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good?

Sometimes its lonely

Sometimes its only me and

The shadows that fill this room

Sometimes I'm fallin', desperately callin'

Howlin' at the moon

Well I might go get me a new tatoo or

Take my old Harley for a three day cruise

Might even grow me a fu man chu

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good?

And it's a great day to be alive
