I love the fact that someone is using one of the ads. that I dug up!!! they are kool I could put every one of them to a person!! thats why I posted them!!!
I think its from a car I had that got totaled. I think it was interest for early payment of the loan. I don't know why I never was contacted by them. They had my correct adress. Maybe it just got destroyed by the post office or something. My sister sent me e-mail saying I was on the Mn commerce website for missingmoney.com
Well, that's very cool! I keep looking for the paycheck I never picked up when I worked one day at The Golden Rule back in 1960. They put me in the deli and told me I had to use this big old blade slicer to slice the meat. Had no idea how to use it and told customers who ordered sliced meat that the slicer was broken. Sold lots of potato salad though!
I never went back. Never picked up my check. It never dawned on me that payroll would have no idea that I walked off. :eyeroll:
Wow! Never thought, until now, about the job I walked off - they probably owe me money. It was a keypunch operator job and paid by the keystroke. Since I could key >10,000 numeric keys per hour, I stood to make a lot of money, but what they didn't tell you was that the newbies were given all the alpha jobs.
I cut out pop since last thursday or so, and have been watching how much I eat, not that I haven't anyways. Still, I noticed I lost a few pounds, whoohoo!
Still a long ways to go, but then I'm fairly impressed I can do something about it without consulting a specialist or joining a group or all that stuff. Who needs em? Just start recording some data and that will be your reminder/motivation.
KC - Something else you might wanna consider is getting your chloresteral tested. Then in a year or so - do it again. It's a great bench mark that's non physically visable for being healthy.
2 years ago I was 189 (high for my age) but with good HDL.
Thanks, I might have to do that. However I'm a bit leery about it just yet... Still, yeah, I should get it tested.
I'd go to a doctor too, but the last thing I want to hear right now is about losing weight and eating healthy. Blah blah blah, been there, done that, doing it, leave me alone.
I'm not holding my breath on that, mrmikey. It was two days pay because we got paid for a day of training also.
But The Golden Rule became Donaldson's and then what the heck happened to Donaldson's?? I'd almost forgotten about Donaldson's. And Schuneman's. Schuneman's became Dayton's which became Marshall Fields, which became Macy's.
And Field Schlick's! I loved Field Schlick's! Frank Murphy's! Another great store!
Three Sister's and Mangles. You could get some pretty inexpensive trendy clothes at those little shops.
St. Paul used to be a happening town, people.
I almost forgot my most favorite place ever in St. Paul. Alley 29. I've talked about this place before and it doesn't exist on any maps, documents, whatever. It was on 5th St. between Wabasha and St. Peter I believe. A little hippy bookstore tucked into an alley off of 5th. You could take a book off the shelf and sit down with a smoke and coffee and hang out all day. Meet lots of interesting people.
I have my friend the Urban Geographer on the prowl for some documentation that this place existed other than in my imagination. :pbpt:
But his wife backs me on it. We'd go together sometimes.
It's basically "dedicated" to Alley 29, but she does a really good job describing the place and the ambiance. The rest of the site is interesting too. She's a writer.
I'm just so happy to see something about the place. Too bad it went the way of so many other interesting places in St. Paul. I bet it would be a really popular place right now.
Second line was referring to the fact that I never just went to a .com to find it. I relied on Google, which let me down. I see it there now on Goggle, but I didn't when I was first looking for it a year or so ago.
I didn't see much history about it on that web-site, however, I did have a guy come in and research Alley29 a few months back. We looked at old insurance plat maps and such. We didnt find much except that it existed at one time and I think he said there was music and a bookstore.
From what I remember it didn't exist until maybe 1959. I went there until early '60's and then got busy with my family and don't know when it disappeared. I need to take a walk up 5th St. to see if I can get a feel for where it used to be.
Or was it 6th St? Well, I'll get some exercise anyway.
KC.. if/when you change jobs.. you cant go too far away... I'll get orange cobalt withdrawals, and who am I gonna wave to when I drive by your lot..?
Speaking of jobs, my daughter works her last day at the hell hole known as Best Buy Corporate on Friday! She leaves with severance, unused vacation and a new job waiting on Monday that pays MUCH more and is half the driving distance to work.
congratulations!
and see if I can play the match game
Enjoy- getting my money from the unclaimed money website. $167
also trapping 2 more opossums today that lived under my shed. That make 5 in 2 tries.

Always poignant, appropriate and amazing with flawless delivery

Good for you KC.
It's VERY VERY good to write down what you eat. It seems to make us more aware of what we put in our mouths.
I have 2.2 to go until my WW goal.
Check out this website www.caloriesperhour.com
you will love it! All sorts of calculators and info - I'm a number geek at stuff like that, and I've found lots of cool things.
and it's all free!
2 years ago I was 189 (high for my age) but with good HDL.
Now I'm 142 (good) with really good HDL.
I'd go to a doctor too, but the last thing I want to hear right now is about losing weight and eating healthy. Blah blah blah, been there, done that, doing it, leave me alone.
My Doc - partners with a wellness clinic that offers free dieticians, free body fat tests, so on a wellness library of info.
Knowing what my #'s were - is a good benchmark for me. besides the weight in the mirror.

Wow! Why didn't I ever try the www address? Haha!
Now I have to go look at the WHOLE site.
But I am *really* curious about your second line... :sheepish:
I'm just so happy to see something about the place. Too bad it went the way of so many other interesting places in St. Paul. I bet it would be a really popular place right now.

minnesota) I'd like to give a big shout out of "hear hear -all hail
the king" for King Boreas on his 1500th geocaching hide/event on Sept 22nd.
Hail the King!
http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars/ballsmahoney/
heres his WWE profile page.. you can find videos and photos of him....
he's one of the last remaining orignal ECW wrestlers still employed by WWE and the new ECW...
we've hung out with/met him a few times now...
we had more fun at this past show, afterwards - just trying to talk to people, outside - rather than inside watching the show itself....
Could be next week, could be next year, but sooner or later, I'm outta here.
Besides, there's another Orange Cobalt in columbia heights, I've seen it a few times. Main difference is it has a spoiler, mine doesn't.
It actually pairs you up with employers based on your personality & skill set - not just your past qualifications.
just at thought.
is it in rot13?

Kind of an interesting project. Thought it would be fun to participate, just for the heck of it.
Sweet, I can't wait to go see this!
