Buying lite beer for the first time in my life :eyeroll:

At least I'll have first hand experience of what lite beers taste better when I'm done with this experiment. I think they all have the same boring watered down dull taste so it'll be like picking which rice cake tastes better. There's gotta be something out there. So far I tried St. Paulies Girl and bought Coors lite and Leinie Lite. So far - same crap different label. :eyeroll:

At least I'm drinking less than I thought I would. I found out something about myself tonight, that the taste held more weight for me than the alcohol content. If I like it I drink more. Pretty simple I guess. I thought I'd try and drink a case of this crap to get me where I want to be buzz-wise and it doesn't matter. If it sucks to drink, I don't drink it.

sorry for blabbing - Ali got a diary in the mail today and told me to get a journal and I said I had this site to put down my life's BS.

Thanks guys

try making it into a michelada

ice - salted rim - lemon juice - worsteshire (sp) and a splash of tomatoe juice.

or drink the bud light chelada's premix.

not too bad.

I have just given up drinking for the most part - it seems better than empty alcohol calories i'll feel guilty about later anyway. :eyeroll:

losing my soccer game last night - we were undefeated for this session - but we didn't have any subs and it was just an off night for us.

Not only do I have a bruise from taking a ball in my knee sunday - but I have a knot and a bruise on my calf muscle that spasms when I'm walking and I nearly fall down

... yes - quite comical

the good news? we are still moving up a division - where we will get killed next session.

My mother kept a diary as a young woman. Up until she was married. She always said she wanted to burn it because she didn't want anyone to read it after she died. But she never did.

I have it now, but even nine years after she died I haven't been able to read it. I think it would be fascinating to read about her life growing up in the early part of the 20th Century, but I keep remembering that she didn't want it read and feel I must respect her wishes. Yet I can't make myself burn it either.

I have journals all the way back from when I was like 12. I can't bring myself to read them, cause I'd prolly be embarrased of myself!

I haven't found any of my grans old journals (if she had any) but I have found many of her old correspondance letters with her 2nd husband (when they were dating) needless to say - I have now seen a very different side of gran. :sheepish:

I also have the letters my mother and father exchanged when they were courting. My father lived here in So. St. Paul and my mother taught here but spent her summers in her hometown. They're fun to read.

My grandfather was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives during the 37th Session, and most of her letters to my father are written on stationary with the State of Minnesota House of Representatives 37th Session letterhead, with his name in one corner. I wonder if there's any value to them? Maybe if I come across a letter from my grandfather written on the stationary there would be? That was a long time ago. Around 1912 or so.

I'm sure its worth more to you vs. selling it...
Tue, 09/25/2007 - 7:08 AM Permalink

Yes, I'm sure of that. I just wonder if any other letterhead from that time still exists? Not necessarily monetary value, but historical?

But since it's not a letter written not by my grandfather but by his daughter, probably not so much.

And everytime they screw something up, I get a new "process" I have to do, everyday, to make sure they're doing their jobs.

Why don't I just take the orders, drive to our vendors, use their terminals, enter our orders, pick the product, box it up, and hand deliver everything to our customers?

I swear it's the only fool proof method of confirming everything gets done right.

The other day when I was at the cemetery, two of the guys who work there came up to me and told me my truck was leaking oil. They saw a trail and tracked it to under my vehicle. So I got on the ground and put my finger in it and it was reddish so I thought it was transmission fluid. Drove to my shop and it turns out it was oil and left it.

Picked it up yesterday afternoon and it was the oil sending unit. Not a big deal. Really cheap. I was happy. I drove down to Subway and got out and smelled something. Thought maybe it was from a different car in the lot. Got home and smelled it again. So drove back to the shop. I was leaking coolant. So now it's back in the shop maybe needing a new radiator.

This one is going to seem strange...

BBQ Sauce and Baked Beans - both food items that I cannot stand.

That was the Harvest lunch catered today - which is fine, I didn't have to eat it. I'm cool with that - but the entire cellar where the breakroom is REEKS of those two smells. I can't even walk into the area without wanting to be sick.

I realize that I am in the minority of people who dislike those foods, but gawd the smell has got to go. :frown:

What irritates me: getting two separate privacy notices from HSBC, without any reference to the credit cards the notices are associated with.

Turns out, its two related retail stores for which I do hold credit cards, but why the heck couldn't they put that on the notice?

Instead, I'm thinking, who the heck opened credit cards in my name???

I called my bank - everything is fine with my accounts there.

Then checked my credit report - everything is fine there too. At least there I could see who has the HSBC accounts.

Online, I can find all kinds of negative info about HSBC, and lists of examples of companies that are under HSBC, such as Best Buy and Costco, and none of those are cards I hold or ever held. Nothing was listed that were cards that I do hold. The two stores that the privacy statements are for, are not listed in the examples.

I had to go all the way to my credit report to guess at who the heck was sending me privacy statements.

So, while its good to look at one's credit report on a regular basis, I didn't appreciate looking at it while being worried about possible identity theft!

I have a friend who makes it and usually gives me a few jars every year. But when I don't have any of her's I've discovered that Libby's canned tastes the most like the home made stuff.

I have an old cutter and a crock in this old house's basement, but I've never done it myself. My mother did and let it "work" on the landing going down to the basement. Nasty stuff goes on in those crocks. :lipsealed:

My secret to my sauerkraut tasting even better than my mother's is that I add a couple or three fresh pork hocks to the mix. It gives it a heartier meat flavor. My sisters even admit mine is better than Mother's.
