You're right. I've heard them all for 42 years now too. :eyeroll:

It is kinda cool that not only do people remember my birthday because it's on a holiday but the older ones remember the actual day I was born because of that huge St. Patty's Day snowstorm that helped create the great flood of '65

Actually that blizzard was a small joy for me... My sister wanted to bring my 2yr old son trick or treating in her neighborhood (she in St Paul - me in Plymouth).

Being a single mom I looked forward to having the night off as she was going to keep him over night..... they ended up having him for 3 days!!

Well CM my due date was that day too... my parents apartment complex set up a "gathering" in the laundry room close the the door so the guys could keep the sidewalk shoveled to the car..

My mom - well being Irish (Bridget Sharon Collins) had to have a couple... before long they all were doing Tequila shots... needless to say I was very comfortable were I was so I stayed and slept it off for 5 days!

A solar disturbance is currently in-progress and is producing

enhanced periods of geomagnetic and auroral activity. There is a

chance some middle latitude locations may spot periods of auroral

activity during the next 12 to 24 hours. No significant auroral

storming is anticipated, and the brightness of the moon will hamper

the view fairly substantially. Nevertheless, the risk remains that

activity may become sporadically strong enough to view from some

middle latitude locations. The disturbance is expected to begin

decaying on 29 September.

This watch will remain valid through 23:00 UTC (7 pm EDT) on 29

Sept. It will then be updated or allowed to expire. For updated

information, visit: http://www.spacew.com/aurora/forum.html. For

I was going to tell you about that today 3M. There's also going to be an opening in our building as well since two guys both from 50 and 225 are moving out to the burbs to take care of some new accounts Hines just nabbed. Us(225), 50, US Bank Plaza & Wells Fargo are all under the Hines umbrella. Ask about 225. Tell them you have a pal over there that knows that they will be needing someone. I would assume it would pay a bit more as well.

There taking two of our guys out there too. My day utility guy and one from US Bank are going down south as well. Getting their own brand new vans on top of it. I'm way happy for them. Hines will be a great place to be for quite awhile since they're being pretty aggressive at buying stuff up at the moment. Good luck man. Let me know if you want in my place. I would have a pretty good chance on making that happen if you wanted to.

I'd love to work at 225! I'm still in the very early stages of this but I'm crossing my fingers.

My instructor at school worked for Hines as a bldg engineer and ran his own bldg for a time. The guy that hires called him and said he wanted his best person. Fred told him thats me! He wants me to get my resume ready and we'll fax it over within the next couple weeks.

Only problem is he wants me to start in October. Fred told him that would be a problem because I don't graduate untill the end of December. Sounds like he's willing to work around my scheduale untill I graduate.

This is great news for me. I really hope it works out, but I am not going to quit school when I'm this close to having my degree. I was planning on going another semster for a 2nd degree in HVACr, but would pass on that for now to get into a company like Hines.

Fred also mentioned the same reasons for why they are looking for people as you said.
    Sun, 09/30/2007 - 6:48 AM Permalink
    Clue Master

You could always work at 50 for a bit then move to 225 after you get some experience within Hines. We have guys moving on to their own buildings all the time and have a pretty big staff even for a building this size. They don't take any chances and pay for that reassurance. We had 3 engineers out at Centennial Lakes managing a million square feet and have 15 guys + contractors managing 1.4 million at 225. You can see the math. Each guy is more of a specialist than an overall handyman type.

You'd love it at 225 though. It's a real family there. They even eat all their meals together watching their big screen TV.

heart randomness. im @ wendy's having lunch. at the table across from me there is a smarmy man that i think looks like a child molester having lunch with a pretty girl who couldnt be more than 15. hes wearing a bright orang shirt. green shorts and... get this pale blue socks with little white snowflakes on them in sandals. they are talking about mushrooms n psychadelic drugs.

at the table next to me there is and oddly tall asian man with a very short asian woman. between the 2 of them they have 4 baked potatoes, 4 side salads, 2 chilis and 1 drink.

in the corner is a mexican group of college aged kids who are discussing economics and the topic has heated up to one guy yelling at one of the girls and her crying. interesting . they have toned it down a bit and are talking about investments vs. CDs & bonds.

in another area a man eatting chinese food with 6 kids eatting burgers.

recently entered a couple who would make trailer trash seem elite... and their. 4 screaming kids.

its like a mental hospital in here.

I use them for walking too KC. It's just Asics fit my feet best. If they made indoor soccer shoes, I'd spend $400 on them if I had to. They are dreamy.

I have a great pair of driving shoes too CM - it's called bare feet.

funny story - Sun night I'm on my way home from Soccer, and a sherrif gets behind me, and pulls me over.. IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE! I give him my lic and he looks at it, and says - do you live near by? I'm like - yeah,I'm in my parking space.

    he goes oh.

then he looks at me and says - do you play soccer (I'm in my uniform) I bite my tongue from commenting on how observant he is and just say yes.

then he tells me all about how his Girlfriend plays- blah blah blah. He's handed me back my license but I'm still sitting there.

finally I look at him, and say - so are you gonna tell me why you pulled me over - since you are like um a sherriff and well, you guys just don't do that stuff usually.

he smiles and says - your license plate light was out. I won't write you a ticket - if you can just take care of it.

    sooo random.
