thats funny we didnt name it last night but it is one of 6 hunts that we plan to do as a group I think sence there is 4 of us the first one and the last one will be a group thing then we all will have our own in between that!!! so thats our game plan!!
I am going to say that what we would like to do for now is go and say you have to reg. at the pre dig you can still hunt for it and every thing but we would like to know who all is hunting!!
But the way I would like it is if every one who hunts it would like to put 5 dollars in to the pot! and if you reg. at the pre dig for it I will find a way to give you bonsse I dont know 25 dollars or some thing like that!!! but if you dont go to the pre dig and pre reg. then your out of that 25 dollars!
I am thinking to do The pre dig at more of a family type place where We can all go and still have a drink but yet you guys can bring your kids and segtions on a place like that!! I was thinking somewhere like BW3's in west st.paul ??
I have the date in mind for the pre dig kick off party it will be friday oct 19 say at 7pm
the hunt will be 12 clues!! and be a Ramsey Co. wide hunt!! yes I know BW3's is in Dokata Co. but hay cant win them all!!!
more to come in a day or 2!!!
If someone could set up a folder that would be great then I could post the rules and all the info!!!
if we could get the folder to be called Hallowicked!!! that would be best for this hunt I think!!!
ok, I'm at this point in my life.... I need to let some things go. ...... I have a box of newspapers & magazines from 9.11 .... would anyone like them? ::sigh::
I have some packing materials too - any takers?
also a kids Little Tikes tourquois toy chest with upper 1 level book case.
I'm sure most if not all of you have been throught the Hinckley Fire Museum - but if you haven't, it's truly worth the stop. And once stopped, plan to spend sometime there. Truly amazing.
I've been there more times than just about any other city in outstate Minnesota (mainly because you ALWAYS have to stop at Tobies) but never stopped to see the museum since I never heard many comments about it. Only the signs.
Thanks TV. I guess I was waiting for anyone to mention it to get me to go see it. I'll just need to set up some back story first so the kid stays interested.
Even though it was sad to see Amy's name associated with my ancestors, it was pretty cool scrolling through all my relatives. I forgot I had a membership with A.com. Thanks for the reminder. I haven't been there in years.
The first time we went to the museum, my kids were like 9 and 11 years old. They were fascinated.
And on your way to the fire museum, a great place to stop for dinner is Cassidy's next to the Little Store (on the other side of the freeway from Tobie's). They have one of the best salad/soup bars anywhere. It's truly a meal in itself. They have great salad fixings and various salads, always two soups, usually some sort of hot dish and the best breads you slice yourself. They always have had at least two choices of bread - and I think my personal favorite is the wild rice bread.
Cassidys is a must stop for lunch in a small town. when I visit Hinckley I always walk the city streets and visit where my ancestors old houses are - no relatives there any longer. And I visit the cemetery and the Pit, where some ran for shelter. My great great grandma was 9 mo pregnant when she got on the train- got seperated from great great grandpa and had the baby in Duluth 2 weeks later. and FYI - my great aunt owned the restaurant/bus stop IN TOWN - sold it to the now TOBIES. so Tobies has always had a place in my heart with the connection to my family.
A couple weeks ago I bought a signed copy of Under the Flamin Sky. I have an original signed Hinckley Fire Book from the 1890s too.
It would make a horrible but good movie!
just thinking of the stories of people burned to death on the tracks and nothing but clothes left and how people ran with suitcases for the train and how they had to drop everything!!!
the family they found in the well dead. uuuuuhhh
take a look on the MN Historical Societies webpage for pictures- Ive done that- its horrible.
I thought it sucked when I first saw my dads name listed in the ss death index years ago. :frown:
oh and you know how some relatives SUCK! well, my grandmas brother had died back in the early 1980's. His wife had a garage sale and sold a bunch of Hinckley Fire family stuff! :frown:
I don't get why families don't offer personal items to family members first. luckily when my grandma got there she saved the family bible- I have that now. - Its huge! She didn't get there in time for other items though.
my grandma won the 100's anniversary quilt in an auction there - fitting. now my aunt that we dont get along with has it. :frown:
because of all the mental distress it caused her by seeing all the parents and kids crying and her not being able to get her kids tickets!! it was funny I saw it on the news!! it was something really stupid!!! like that!!!
ya I know isn't it amazon how so many people are sue happy I think they need to say if you come at me with another stupid case like this I am not only going to put the dumb azz that made this up in jail but the dam lawyers!! to!!!
On KDWB.com there's a secret link somewhere to get Hannah Montanah tickets...As a group, I bet we could probably figure out where it is...It's an online hunt!

Guest speaker at class today was the Development Director at Como.
She shared they are looking for a 20hr a week Grant Writer to help write grants for the new Polar Bear exhibit.
Neil and Buzz (polar bears) are leaving Como in Jan/Feb to go live somewhere else while their new home gets built.
Also learned that if anyone has 1.8 million dollars to donate they can put their name on the building.
I'm down....
iceman says that he's got 1.8 million bux laying around someplace, collecting dust.... he calls dibs on the building.
Its like 3:20 in the morning...
me and Carolyn are leaving for our trip that I was talking about a while ago - at like 7:00 - 7:30....
Me and Steve and Iceman, and Carolyn just finished writing clues, and the medallion has been hidden....

Good luck.
