Julieta Venegas - Limón Y Sal lyrics
Artist: Julieta Venegas
no hace falta cambiarte nada,
yo te quiero si vienes o si vas,
si subes y bajas y
no estás seguro de lo que sientes.
Tengo que confesarte ahora
nunca creà en la felicidad
a veces algo se le parece, pero
es pura casualidad.
Luego me vengo a encontrar con tus ojos y me dan algo más
solo tenerte cerca siento
que vuelvo a empezar.
CORO
Solo tenerte cerca
siento que vuelvo a empezar....
I have to confess at times I do not like you. You disappear and I do not understand. You never say anything Romantic, and you have such a strange humor each full moon.
I want you with Lime & Salt. Just the way you are. I want if when you come and go, high or low. You make me unsure of how I feel.
I never believed in happiness until the times, when I'm being myself. Perhaps its pure concidence. Then I find myself in your eyes, and it all begins again.
:pbpt:
Verse 1:
Wake up to the sunlight
With your windows open
Don't hold in your anger or leave things unspoken
Wear your red dress
Use your good dishes
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes
Have what you want
But want what you have
And don't spend your life lookin' back
Chorus:
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
You won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
Cuz it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live
Verse 2:
So go to the ballgames
And go to the ballet
And go see your folks more than just on the holidays
Kiss all your children
Dance with your wife
Tell your husband you love him every night
Don't run from the truth
'Cause you can't get away
Just face it and you'll be okay
Chorus:
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
You won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live
Bridge:
Oh wherever you are and wherever you've been
Now is the time to begin
Verse 3:
So give to the needy
And pray for the grieving
E'en when you don't think that you can
'Cause all that you do is bound to come back to you
So think of your fellow man
Make peace with God and make peace with yourself
'Cause in the end there's nobody else
Chorus
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live
Gettin close to an overload
Up against a no win situation
Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
Im hangin up my boxin gloves
Im ready for a long vacation
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
Youre walkin a high wire, caught in a cross fire
Oh be good to yourself
When you cant give no more
They want it all but you gotta say no
Im turnin off the noise that makes me crazy
Lookin back with no regrets
To forgive is to forget
I want a little piece of mind to turn to
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
Youre walkin a high wire, caught in a cross fire
Oh be good to yourself
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
There's somethin' special on my mind
Last night I met a new girl in the neighbourhood, whoa yeah
Somethin' tells me I'm into something good
(Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin')
She's the kind of girl who's not too shy
And I can tell I'm her kind of guy
She danced close to me like I hoped she would
(she danced with me like I hoped she would)
Somethin' tells me I'm into something good
(Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin')
We only danced for a minute or two
But then she stuck close to me the whole night through
Can I be fallin' in love
She's everything I've been dreamin' of
She's everything I've been dreamin' of
I walked her home and she held my hand
I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand
So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could
(I asked to see her and she told me I could)
Somethin' tells me I'm into something good
(somethin' tells me I'm into somethin')
Somethin' tells me I'm into something good
(somethin' tells me I'm into somethin')
To something good, oh yeah, something good
(somethin' tells me I'm into somethin')
To something good, something good, something good
The kind that you just want to give away
It's ok to open up
Go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
You wanna shut the world out and just be left alone
But don't run out on your faith
Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
And when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else seem
So small
It's so easy to get lost inside
A problem that seems so big at the time
It's like a river that's so wide it swallows you whole
While you're sitting around thinking about what you can't change
And worrying about all the wrong things
Time's flying by, moving so fast
You better make it count cause you can't get it back
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
Oh, and when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else seem
So small, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
And then you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Oh, it sure makes everything else seem
So small
[Mike Shinoda]
Here we go for the hundredth time,
Hand grenade pins in every line,
Throw 'em up and let something shine.
Going out of my f**king mind.
Filthy mouth, no excuse.
Find a new place to hang this noose.
String me up from atop these roofs.
Knot it tight so I won't get loose.
Truth is you can stop and stare,
Bled myself out and no one cares.
Dug a trench out, laid down there
With a shovel up out to reach somewhere.
Yeah someone pour it in,
Make it a dirt dance floor again.
Say your prayers and stomp it out,
When they bring that chorus in.
[Chester Bennington]
(Chorus)
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away.
[Mike Shinoda]
I bleed it out.
Go, stop the show.
Choppy words and a sloppy flow.
Shotgun opera, lock and load,
Cock it back and then watch it go.
Mama help me, I've been cursed,
Death is rolling in every verse.
Candy paint on his brand new hearse.
Can't contain him, he knows he works.
F**k this hurts, I won't lie.
Doesn't matter how hard I try.
Half the words don't mean a thing,
[Bleed It Out lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]
And I know that I won't be satisfied.
So why, try ignoring him.
Make it a dirt dance floor again.
Say your prayers and stomp it out,
When they bring that chorus in.
[Chester Bennington]
(Chorus)
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away.
I bleed it out.
I've opened up these scars,
I'll make you face this.
I pulled myself so far,
I'll make you face this now.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away.
I bleed it out,
Digging deeper just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away.
I bleed it out.
I bleed it out.
I bleed it out.
Long distance information, give me Memphis Tennessee
Help me find a party that tried to get in touch with me
She could not leave a number but I know who placed the call
'cause my uncle took a message and he wrote it on the wall
Help me, information, get in touch with my Marie
She's the only one who'd call me here from Memphis Tennessee
Her home is on the south side, high upon a ridge
Just a half a mile from the Mississippi bridge
Last time I saw Marie she was wavin' me goodbye
With "hurry-home" drops on her cheek that trickled from her eye
But we were pulled apart because her mom did not agree
And tore apart our happy home in Memphis Tennessee
Help me, information, more than that I cannot add
Only that I miss her and all the fun we had
Marie is only six years old, information please
Try to put me through to her in Memphis Tennessee
You get up in the mornin', you hear the ding dong ring,
Now you look up on the table, you see the same darn thing.
You find no food upon the table, and no pork up in the pan.
But if you say a thing about it, you be in trouble with the man.
Ah let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Oh let the Midnight Special shine its ever lovin' light on me,
Now if you're ever in Houston, oh, you better walk right;
Aw, you better not gamble boy, I say you better not fight, l
Or the sheriff he will grab you and the boys will pull you down.
And then before you know it, you're penitentary bound.
Ah let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, (woooo)
Let the Midnight Special shine its ever lovin' light on me,
Here comes miss Lucy, how in the world did you know?
I can tell by her apron, and by the clothes she wore.
An umbrella on her shoulder, she got a paper in her hand;
She come to see the warden, to try to free her man.
So let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Ah let the Midnight Special shine its everlovin' light on me.
I said let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Ah let the Midnight Special shine its everlovin' light on me
Everybody talkin' 'bout the seventh son
In the whole wide world there is only one
And I'm the one, I'm the one
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
I can tell your future, it will come to pass
I can do things to you make your heart feel glad
Look in the sky, predict the rain
Tell when a woman's got another man
I'm the one, oh I'm the one
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
I can talk these words that will sound so sweet
They will even make your little heart skip a beat
Heal the sick, raise the dead
Make the little girls talk outta their heads
I'm the one, oh I'm the one
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
[Lead guitar]
I can talk these words that will sound so sweet
They will even make your little heart skip a beat
Heal the sick, raise the dead
And make the little girls talk outta their heads
I'm the one, oh I'm the one
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
I'm the one, hey, hey
I'm the one
Oh, I'm the one, babe
Oooo, I'm the one
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
I'm the one, I'm the one
The one they call the seventh son
There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow
Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name
Beware of pretty faces that you find
A pretty face can hide an evil mind
Ah, be careful what you say
Or you'll give yourself away
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow
Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name
[Lead guitar]
Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name
Swingin' on the Riviera one day
And then layin' in the Bombay alley next day
Oh no, you let the wrong word slip
While kissing persuasive lips
The odds are you won't live to see tomorrow
Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name
Secret agent man
Do-doo-doo-wah shoo-be-doo-be
Do-doo-doo-wah shoo-be-doo-be
How can you tell me how much you miss me
When the last time I saw you, you wouldn't even kiss me
That rich guy you've been seein'
Must have put you down
So welcome back baby
To the poor side of town
To him you were nothin' but a little plaything
Not much more than an overnight fling
To me you were the greatest thing this boy had ever found
And girl it's hard to find nice things
On the poor side of town
I can't blame you for tryin'
I'm tryin' to make it too
I've got one little hang up baby
I just can't make it without you
So tell me, are you gonna stay now
Will you stand by me girl all the way now
With you by my side
They can't keep us down
Together we can make it baby
From the poor side of town
(So tell me how much you love me)
(Come be near to me and say you need me now)
Oh, with you by my side
This world can't keep us down
Together we can make it baby
From the poor side of town
Do-doo-doo-wah shoo-be-doo-be
Do-doo-doo-wah shoo-be-doo-be
Do-doo-doo-wah shoo-be-doo-be
People say IÂ’m the life of the party
'Cause I tell a joke or two.
Although I may be laughinÂ’ loud and hearty,
Deep inside IÂ’m blue.
So take a good look at my face.
You see my smile looks out of place.
If you look closer, itÂ’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears.
I need you, need you
If you see me with another girl,
ActinÂ’ like IÂ’m havinÂ’ fun,
Although she may be cute,
SheÂ’s just a substitute,
Girl, youÂ’re the permanent one.
Ah, take a good look at my face.
You see my smile looks out of place.
Now look closer, itÂ’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears.
Outside, IÂ’m masqueradinÂ’
Inside, my hope is fadinÂ’.
I'm just a clown since you put me down.
My smile is my make-up I wear since my break-up with you.
Baby, baby, take a good look at my face.
You see my smile looks out of place.
If you look closer, itÂ’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears.
Baby, baby, baby, take a good look at my face.
You see my smile looks out of place.
Just look closer, itÂ’s easy to trace.
The tracks of my tears.
Baby, baby, baby, take a good look at this face.
My smile looks out of place.
If you look closer, itÂ’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears.
It's late at night and we're all alone
Just the music on the radio
No one's comin', no one's gonna telephone
Just me and you and the lights down low
And we're
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
Slow dancin', just me and my girl
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
Just you, girl
And we just flow together when the lights are low
Shadows dancin' all across the wall
Music's playin' so soft and slow
Rest of the world so far away and small
When we're
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
Slow dancin', just me and my girl
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
Hold me, Oh, oh, oh, hold me
No never let me go
As we dance together in the dark
So much love in this heart of mine
You whisper to me, hold you tight
You're the one I thought I'd never find
Now we're
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
Slow dancin', just me and my girl
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
Slow dancin', just me and my girl
Slow dancin', swayin' to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
Whole wide world

When October Goes Lyrics
And when October goes
The snow begins to fly
Above the smokey roofs
I watch the planes go by
The children running home
Beneath a twilight sky
Oh, for the fun of them
When I was one of them
And when October goes
The same old dream appears
And you are in my arms
To share the happy years
I turn my head away
To hide the helpless tears
Oh how I hate to see October go
And when October goes
The same old dream appears
And you are in my arms
To share the happy years
I turn my head away
To hide the helpless tears
Oh how I hate to see October go
I should be over it now I know
It doesn't matter much
How old I grow
I hate to see October go
Unchained Melody Lyrics
Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch, a long lonely time
And time goes by, so slowly and time can do so much
Are you, still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me
Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the waiting arms of the sea
Lonely rivers cry, wait for me, wait for me
To the open arms, wait for me
My love, my darling, I've hungered for your kiss
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God, speed your love, to me
Copacabana (At The Copa) Lyrics
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star
Tony always tended bar
Across the crowded floor, they worked from 8 til 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?
[Chorus:]
At the copa (CO!) Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the copa (CO!) Copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the copa.... they fell in love
His name was Rico
He wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there
And when she finished,he called her over
But Rico went a bit to far
Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?
[Chorus]
At the copa... she lost her love
Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl,
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola,
Still in dress she used to wear,
Faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind
[Chorus]
At the copa... don't fall in love
Don't fall in love
I wouldnt tune in to watch it, mind you.... but it would be cool to hear that they had both been beaten up pretty bad.
I had a dream last night and I didnt remember this part of it til I came online and saw an e-mail telling me about BM coming in concert....
some reason I was standing in a room with other people- Barry Manilow was standing behind a table talking with people- I was trying to get a photo - I asked this woman to please move over so I could get the shot and she replied with something about me head over heals for him and I looked at her with a twisted crazy look like are you insane? and exclaimed, "now if it were Neil Diamond I probably woulda already fainted" I think she was insulted-
B.Manilow has some wonderful slow songs - and I know I know all the words - I just don't find him sexy.
anyhow, than I come in this thread and you're all talking about him - wierd
If I woulda known that! :frown:
I thought it was the typical big venue - excel/target
wow - that place is gonna rock! and to be up in the white VIP room with him afterwards? 3m knows what Im talkin about - wow

I like when big acts do these small venue shows - especially when I can nab some tickets
I like the smaller venues, and the outdoor concerts, the best.
Canada's premiere concert venues and one of the largest rooms in Vancouver with almost a 1000 person capacity.
hmm...impressive...
Paramount Theatre is a concert venue in Denver, Colorado, ... The venue has a seating capacity of only 1870
oohhh..
Chicago, IL - Aragon Ballroom -4800
wooohooo 4'x bigger than vancover
Myth--about 4000
Atlanta, GA - Tabernacle -3500
in redneckville...I'm surprised they didn't sell out the dome.
Fillmore at Jackie Gleason Theater -2700
Ryman Auditorium -2362
oh ya hot ticket in town..sold out..
oh...looky looky...still has tickets...
The Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a 14870-seat multi-purpose indoor arena
geez...I wonder why...
I beg to differ your beg to differ!
heck the Roseland capacity is around 1200 and you can still get tickets for that show...hahaha.
1500-capacity venue Showbox SoDo has tickets 2...
geez...I'm right you wrong...
and I like KidROCK...I do...
One of my favorite small venue shows, that I've been to, would have been the ICP show that we drove to, out in Milwaukee, back during the Bizzar/Bizarre tour..... it was at The Rave, a.k.a. The Eagles Ballroom
It was about as big as a highschool gym
From this website, which appears to be a wealth of (incomplete) knowledge:
http://www.slphistory.org/history/tcmusic.asp
is this info - and we were there!!!
KDWB and the Aquatennial sponsored "Happening '67" at the Minneapolis Auditorium. It was a "three day psychedelic feast," held on July 19-21. Sheets of brilliant silver mylar and colorful fabrics decorated the auditorium. Performers were Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, the Electric Prunes, and the Shadows of Knight.
I remember the Jimi Hendrix concert. That was one of the best.
Danny's Reasons, mentioned several times in that piece, was one of the local favorite bands. Danny Stevens - the lead singer - lived over in Minneapolis. We used to make fun on how his hair was always so perfect. So one windy Sunday afternoon, a friend and I headed over to Minneapolis to see if we could catch him coming or going. Sure enough..and though the wind was wicked that day, not a hair on his head moved. LOL!!
We also spent a great deal of time going wherever the Underbeats were playing. I had a major crush on the lead singer, Rico Rosenbaum.
And then there was TC Atlantic. They actually recorded a full album. I used to have that, but not any longer. Not sure what happened to that.
Some of these bands would play high school dances and car dealerships. I never could figure out what a car dealership wanted with a bunch of teenage girls hanging out in their dealership. None of us had any money. We barely had bus fare.
Then there was the summer we spent at the Teen Fair during almost the whole State Fair. The Grassroots played as well as all the local bands during the time of the fair. We had all the schedules down and knew just when we had to be out there and at what stage.
The Battle of the Bands things were always fun.
We also went to see the Monkees - mostly because we thought it would be fun and we scraped up ticket money.
Paul Revere and the Raiders played for some event out at Calhoun at one point. We had enough money for bus fare over there, but only enough left to take the bus home again once we passed over the bridge on Marshall so we didn't have to pay a double fair. We had dressed "cute" instead of smart considering the walk. We had blisters all over our feet by the time we crawled onto the bus in St. Paul.
Those are some great memories.
