That damn pesky IDS is always trying to steal the spotlight.

And I submitted that same question over a year ago and also included all of that info that he presented in his story. With no fricken credit! :eyeroll:

FYI - Our crown at 225 is considered part of the original structure so it is/was considered to be the tallest in MN. That is until the IDS added their window washing garage after the fact. There's always been this good hearted ribbing between our two facilities departments. My boss was actually going to pay some big money to print out a large sign for me to post on our roof that simply said 776' when attending a BOMA meeting at the top of the IDS Centre a couple of blocks down. Unfortunately, Fastsigns couldn't get it done in time for the big meeting.

As another FYI - My friend Randy Halloway manages the Wells Fargo Center located between the IDS and us. Does anyone recognize his name from the past?

Notice 127,128 & 130

Kingston's biggest deal was the July sale of 225 South Sixth, the tallest building in downtown Minneapolis, for $245 million on behalf of Hines Interests of Houston.

The battle for tallest status

The owners of 225 South Sixth (formerly First Bank Place) and the architects behind the design stated that it rose 774 feet (235.9 m) tall upon its completion in 1992. However, the height had been increased due to an engineering need, according to Tom O'Mara, the building's construction manager. There were some ventilation ducts near the roof that required about 14 more inches (35.6 cm) of height. O'Mara added an extra 10 inches (25.4 cm) to that, bringing the building to a total of 776 feet 0 inches (236.5 m).

In the years following completion, the actual height eventually became known as it was published in almanacs and other listings of building height. The owners of 225 South Sixth were hesitant to claim that their building was taller than IDS, and usually deferred the honor to the more well-known structure. As area journalists reported on the sale of the IDS Center to the John Buck Company in 2004 and the death of designer Philip Johnson in 2005, they came face-to-face with the fact that the roof of the tower was one foot lower than its neighbor.

Emporis.com restored the IDS Center to first-place status in the city in February 2005 by including the height of the window-washing garage, although that has not completely ended the dispute. A spokesperson for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, which sometimes handles height disputes, stated that it would be unlikely for the garage to be included in the official height because many would not consider it to be an integral part of the building's design.

It is unclear if the height of 225 South Sixth reaches to the top of the "halo" surrounding the screen walls (walls designed to hide cooling towers on the roof), so the height of the flat roof might be somewhat shorter, or that building might similarly be able to add to its height by including the additional structure.

Sarah has the first season on dvd -

my girls are hooked on Chuck, Heroes, Pushing Up Daisies, House & Love for New York 2

They won't go anywhere on these nights - glued to the tv

out of those, I like the later 2 myself

I love Rescue Me when its the season

right now I like Nip/Tuck- however, last night I kept having to change the channel because Whitney was right there.... finally going to the family room to watch it alone - it just gets more provocotive and contraversial by the episode.

Thats besides all the other cool shows- Dancing with the Stars, those lyrics shows, Deal or No Deal, Kid Nation. Then theres Letterman, O'Brien & Furguson, Stewart. Any espn on poker tournies.

I could go on and on ......Sunday FOOTBALL! old movies....

what am I thinking...I'm hooked on television.

I'm watching Chuck and need to catch up on Heroes. I also watch that Journeyman over at a friends place. That one can be sort of irritating though, as I wish they'd let on more about who's controlling the two charaters that time travel.

Damn it! Tuesday's don't work for me as far as that goes.

I used to catch that every time it would come to town when it was on tour. People would treat the movie as if they were there.

Check out that personal Joe (16161)

I gotta make this work somehow. I was pissed I missed The Wizard Of Oz on the big screen. To me SRS ranks up there with the midnight showings of Dawn Of The Dead and almost as profound as seeing The Wall on the big screen one more time.

I wonder if it'll have the same ambiance where there were lighters sparking up oneies sporadically throughout the audience during the entire film.?

Stealing is bad.. Mmmmkay???? You may be thinking you're "stealing from the rich, and giving to the poor."

Yet, days, weeks, months, even years down the line, karma, will catch up on you... If that doesn't happen, then Susan will throw some sort of crazy hippy/gypsy voodoo curse on you.

http://www.alchemistdar.com/

As of November 27, websites associated with Treasure Trove, Inc., including atreasurestrove.com and alchemistdar.com were shut down.

No updates of the hunt status were made, though given recent concerns about the financial well being of the hunt, there is speculation the hunt has been terminated prematurely.

As of November 27, 2007, www.alchemistdar.com is no longer accessible, displaying a screen that reads: "Sorry, this website is temporarily closed. Please check back later."

There is talk among fans of Secrets of the Alchemist Dar of a class action lawsuit against its publisher if the hunt is indeed shut down prematurely, but no formal discussions have taken place.

None of the 100 rings are known to have been claimed.

This holiday season, Duracell invites parents and kids to power smiles around the country. When parents upload a photo of their child, Duracell will donate a dollar to the Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA and other care centers to power another child's smile. Your photo donation will go toward the children's critical needs as well as batteries for their toys.
