I can totally see the loss of Frodo helping kick in those old feelings once again Eags. The sad thing is that, even though you're more experienced and understand the process more clearly, you still can't do anything more to avoid it. I guess that's where the acceptance part comes in anyway which I would expect helps in some regard.
I've only seen pictures the Santa you guys have posted over the last couple years and the one I saw looked the same. I've only seen him once in real life, so I don't know if its the real one or not. Sounds like Kitch may have a better idea of which one is which than me.
Where did you go Kitch? Maybe they're having a backup Santa during the weekdays this year. That would be sad but I suppose the guys getting old and can pretty much dictate his hours at this stage of the game.
I'll turn around and go home if it's not the REAL Santa when we go this year.
Yeah, the acceptance, which I experience more as "integration" of the loss - incorporation of it into my life experiences - does help. I wish it didn't take time, but it does. That's where the saying about time healing all wounds comes from. Doesn't mean its the ONLY thing that heals, but certainly time is part of the requirement for healing.
finding out my truck is getting reposed this weekend!!! and or called in stolen no later then Sunday!!! this sucks!!! I am so pissed at myself for getting like this!!!
Vendors. Aren't they happy to just be selling product? Why do I have to cater to their every whim? They should be happy we're using them at all. Jerks...
Blah, top that off with vendor IT depts screwing stuff up. Then to my coworkers, it's obviously my fault, since I deal directly with the issues at hand.
I'm sick of appologizing for things that are WAY beyond my control.
Got a call at 6am. St. Paul Police no less to tell us they found the truck and we could get it from the impound lot. They said no damage.
We went out, paid the $137 to release it, got let into the lot and the key wouldn't work. The cover on the steering wheel where the horn is was off and there was toothpaste on the floor.
Back to the office, signed a release so the insurance company could take it, back home to call the insurance, back out to drop off the key.
They were to pick it up, have it estimated for repair and let us know. We haven't heard anything yet.
The damn thing was two blocks from here right where I go by everyday coming home from work. It had to have shown up there within the last 24 hours. If I had seen it, we would have saved $137.
Places that say they accept credit cards only to say they don't accept "Discover" when you try to pay 2 days later. When I said I was here 2 days ago and and was told they do accept credit cards, the lady that told me that pops her head out and says, "I said we accept credit. I didn't say what we dont accept".
Wasted a trip and paid parking to find this out.
finding out I dont have a car any more!! I have to turn it in by no later then sunday or it is reported stolding!!!! anyone have a $300 car around or one I can barow tell I can get a car!! I am in such a hole and funk right now I am going in to hiding for a long time I dont need this crap!!! I try and work something out with them and they wont work on it because they are pissed at my brother and his wife!! this is BS JUST OUT AND OUT TOTAL BS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so mad and down right now ever time I get going good in life someone has to push me down the ladder!!! I give up maybe I will see some of you later or talk to you at hunt time!! :frown: :crying:
We have digital phone and internet with them. The phone and internet quit working Thursday night. Called Comcast by cell. They came out yesterday. Found the issue is at the pole - not in the house. The doofus bobohead couldn't fix it and had to call to have someone else come out. They can't come out until today.
We came north to check on the place here and plow and shovel snow. Dial up is better than nothing.
I would hope to have everything working by the time we get back...if not, I wouldn't want to be on the other end of the phone when we call them again.
We now have internet - but no phone. They are working on it.
Seems someone dropped the ball and didn't do what they were supposed to do yesterday. After giving them more than a piece of my mind last night, they were out first thing this morning to get to the same place the guy on Friday got to.
So now the other crew is in the 'hood doing something. At least I have internet. Now if they could get the flipping phone working, I might not call qwest to get phone service.
Mikey, I was told that unemployment had a snafu with their processing system, so they're having every single case be adjudicated (meaning someone has to ok every single check in the state.) Best of my knowledge, NOBODY'S getting a check.
Not having a car!!! and no way to go looking!! going to be a long hunt this year!! I will be living out of my car!! once I get one I will not be coming home to do any thing!!!
I now have bronchitis, and I just played my second soccer game of the weekend - practically with my inhaler in my hand, but i got through it. a couple more weeks and I'll be ok - providing I don't get sick again.
irritates: I had mexican food for lunch today. :frown: it's just not as good! I want to go back! :crying:
I seriously need to like win the lottery or something, so I can get a house for here, and a house for there, and just travel back and forth eatting my way across the world.
We don't have the truck yet. Inks needs to meet the guy from our insurance out to where they towed it from the impound lot. That happens at 9am tomorrow - out in Burnsville! Why the H they hauled it out there is beyond me.
The idea is to decide what was damaged and then I guess the insurance outfit will decide if it's fixable. Otherwise we'll buy it back and fix it.
Comcast spent some time last evening calling us and apologizing for the slip ups they made during our outage. I have to give them credit for that. We heard from two different people. I'm sure there were notes on the account that I was a tad bit irrate. I didn't swear or yell, but they did hear that I was unhappy and was considering going to Qwest for phone service because of their incompetence. That seemed to take care of things and they got off their rear ends and got her done.
So last night, just as I was dozing off...probably around 11:00 or so, the dang power went off just long enough to screw up the clocks. I had to reset my alarm and clock radio - and I screwed that up because I was half awake. Luckily, I woke up in time to throw some clothes on, brush my teeth and comb my hair so I wasn't late for work.
Today, thus far has been better than all of last week. I hope it continues.
Did he just lose weight or something? Maybe he had a stroke that makes him look slightly different.
This guy right?
I was reading this article in the paper. WTF is a reporter doing calling their home. Please help me understand why you would call a grieving family.

This guy
Balances out the universe.
I'm sick of appologizing for things that are WAY beyond my control.
only to find that things out of my control are making things not work
really bums me out :frown:
(pun intended)

And what's with the toothpaste?!?!?!
Iceman's changing his...

Then again, I might do that anyway.
