Clue #1 You've joined the hunt for the regal runt
To prove searching does pay
Don't dig a hole or knock down a pole
And the golf course is out of play

Last year Jake took home the cake
With a clue a bit off level
This year we'll rinse off all our prints
Lest this hunt go to the devil

Clue #2 The point of all this is so that you won't miss
Your big chance to grab all the cash
Now gather your guys and a gal who is wise
You'll have to do something quite rash

Clue #3 We've scanned the county to hide our bounty
And keep you on your toes
It may sound risible, but our puck's invisible
Although it might just stick to your nose.

Clue #4 How fun is the snow how far will we go
You really ought to go see
Get up for the mission and not just the wishin'
Get into the game-it's all free

Clue #5 There once was a clue that drove you-know-who
To threaten a heinous act
We'd use it again but we're afraid of his pen
My friend, that's an unfortunate fact

Clue #6 All ye who look should honor the book
As one who stood for hope
Much was built in the name of the kilt
Look sharp now and never mope

Clue #7 If you should go look high then low
One could see it from a bower
If it's your bent you might seek a tent
To protect in case of shower

Take note of the wood and do what you should
To extract the prize for yourself
Build a bridge to your dreams as high as they seem
Leave nothing behind on the shelf

Clue #8 Look at the buck to acquire good luck
In finding the grail this year
Link a jar,a line, a star lawyer divine
While crying in your beer

He won, then lost and the nation was tossed
Into strife that was far from civil
The point I'm making is yours for the taking
Believe me - not the message board drivel

Clue #9 This name brings tears, elation and cheers
And occasionally even outrages
It sits on walls and rides the halls
And fills a dozen pages

The hills are alive and you'll have arrived
Refrain from the very injurious
Be bold and be brave but your skin you must save
What's off-limits should frankly be obvious

Clue #10 Look for the sight you hope is just right
You're doubtful and you're torn
Make the rounds for what rhymes with grounds
And part of a rose with a horn

Through flames and flow this park where you'll go
Is the site of sacred relics
Stay away from these and the cliffs if you please
Or you'll be in a heckuva fix

Clue #11 Air and river sounds lead all to Mounds
Far from the graves take your entourage
Twixt Burns and Thorn, an icy pathway is born
Across Mounds from a gray house and tan garage

Hell no fury hath as those on the wrong path
Mounds and Warner form a woodsy perimeter
The path not official contains footprints beneficial
Some 300 trudges in - quest for a quitter

This trail you must follow goes down a narrow hollow
Under a fallen tree to an old rusted drum
From here you must search for a hillside path perch
Wherein lies the center of fun

I deftnly like your way of thinking!! but I just don't see them going to Highland just yet because of a few things they have going on up there!! there is still some work being done on a few parking lots!! if I am not mistaken!! but I could be wrong on that!! I would love to see it in Highland!! I think one of these years they are going to throw us a curve ball!! and they are not going to say it cant be on Harriet island!! because you look at the fact that there was how many people down there last year!!! and it didn't get messed up!! I think they are going to put it down there one of these years coming up soon the clue writer likes the river!!! and so they are going to stay as close to there as posable witch I guess if you go that far you could say they are going to go to Highland for that reason!!

the clue writer likes the river!!! and so they are going to stay as close to there as posable

What gives you that idea? ie: Cono/Phalen/Battlecreek etc.

Battle creek!! The name says it all phalen it was right by where phalen creek use to be also if you look at phalan there is the water fall right on the back side of where it was found!! there if you look he gose to the Crosby for a good time and also gose right back at it with Hidden falls!! there is a water ten with alot of the hides I see but that is gust my out look on things!!! then you have the fact that how many of the hunts have people said there where dog tracks around the area ok so now we have the idea that there is a dog involved in the hiding of it!! and someone also said something about skiing X country skiing all of these parks also have a lot of that!! at Highland there isn't alot of skiing!! so now if they like skiing we could go back to mounds!! think of day lost!! but thats just my ideas I think BFG has a few good points and I Like the Idea of highland it is a NICE park!! and has a cop shop right in the middle of it!! lol!!

I agree, someplace like langford or linwood

a midsized park or shoreview, new/little canada, new brighton way

as long as they dont go long lake way - I'll have to get a hotelroom to hunt that far away.

Pretty far stretch to call that little creek around the phalen island, the waterfall, and battle creek rec center part of the missippi river IMO. And how does Cono fit the river again??

As far as dog tracks, there were dog tracks by the hide at crosby but I haven't heard of anyone else saying they found dog tracks near the hiding spot. There were no dog tracks that I saw at BC on day 2 when I walked past the hiding spot. I didn't notice any at Phalen either, either before or after the blizzard.

And that was me that posted about the cross country skiing areas on the PP site. Take a look at this map.
http://www.stpaul.gov/depts/parks/specialservices/ski/files/Winter%20Activities%20All.pdf

Everything since 2003 has been at a skiing area. Some are listed on the map and some aren't (like crosby and hidden falls) but are still ski areas. Highland is listed as a cross country ski area on this map along with Como/Phalen/ Battle Creek.

I dont know of any cross country skiing at mounds. Pretty steep slope if there is. I know there WAS some ski jumping there in the past but that was a long time ago.

My personal opinion is that is just due to the fact that they've needed wooded areas due to no snow, and that happens to coincide with where the CC Ski trails are.

It's beginning to look like this year will be a whole different hunt.

I think this hider started in 2003 at cono in the woods. Its been in wooded or by trees since then.

We have snow this year, but with the way things have been, who's to say if that will go back to being the norm. After having been limited to big wooded parks for the last 5 years, and having the potential of having to return to them in the future, I've got to believe the cluewriter is going to pick a spot that can only be used when there is snow so as to keep some semblance of variety going on. Thus I don't think we're going to see it in any of the parks used in the last five years. But I don't think they will go to a tiny park either. Probably nothing smaller than Conway or Merriam. Cherokee, Highland, and Mounds are possibilities, but I think they're going to be itching to go somewhere new like Linwood.

Perhaps "an expanse of snow is where to go" this year.

That would be changing it up a bit.

Med Hunter,

If I find it you will be the first person I contact after my wife and mom. The treasure hunt site looks great

Maybe it'll be my year to find it. If only for the fact I know what I'd do with the money, and I wouldn't see a penny of it for myself.

I expect a different clue writer and perhaps different than normal clues which may throw people off or give it away to easily. Assuming that Par Ridder had a hand in the clues before. All the snow certainly will help to keep the hunt going longer.
