If they were more savvy, I'd suggest using bit torrent, but then again, since it's a teenager in question, I'd tell them to stay way from file sharing, heh.

Ive been working on this for hours - I really wanted to solve it myself but I need help --- thats the first step, right?

my microsoft outlook - not outlook express (?)

won't load my e-mails. I get these errors below.

I've googled it and changed my port numbers to the 110 and 25

here are the errors I get

"the IMAP server has issued an unrecognized greeting"

are you paying for aol and comcast??

Hmm.. problematic at best anyways, I'm sure aol doesn't like to play nice with others.

It looks like an authentication problem. It's trying to pull mail from an unspecified folder that it can't find as well.

AOL lets you keep your e-mail address as long as you use it online as opposed to their system.

I just wanted to make sure she wasn't paying for both...

I'd switch emails to gmail if it was me...

last week I was able to see both my comcast and aol emails in outlook - it wont update to this week or daily for that matter

I can still see all the other aol emails I loaded up - just nothing new

I just got the comcast 2 weeks ago and havn't ditched aol yet

I dont know how to cancel them and keep my email

I want to be able to have people send emails to my aol email address still and I want to be able to access them through outlook.

I cant even view my comcast email through outlook right now either though.

I have to go to comcast and aol websites right now to view my email.

I want to be able to just open my outlook and wahlah! there they both are.

I tried re entering my comcast with incoming server # 110 & outgoing server port # 587 but it still wont access -

it keeps telling me that outlook isnt connected to the server

not necesarily. Its possible to be online and send mail, but still not receive mail,

Heres what my servers are for comcast. (I know its OLexpress, but should be the same)

Notice the incoming and out going are different,

look in outlook under TOOLS>accounts>mail tab>properties

Make sure it EXACLY as I post. Any little mistake makes it not work

thats what I had when I switched the 25to 587 and then I changed it back

I ranatest and everything came up fine and now the comcast works

but the aol still doesnt grrrr

Might be a one time thing. If it keeps happening you may need to trouble shoot it. Probly just one program that dont like another.

I think its from that Shareeza music program.

we had the old version and last week sarah loaded the new version to update it without knowing there was a potential virus problem. I dont know the virus associated with it but maybe this is it.

Could be. Try try to "Roll back" your computer to a time before she installed the program with system restore.
