Nope, although I could swear there was a park under the same name in St. Paul... Gonna have to get out my copy of The Street where you live and see if that's where I saw it.

the idiot left footprints last year- jake didnt follow them but they were noticable after the fact. So figure out when the last snowfall before the hunt was last year and you'll know from that last snowfall to clue one is when it was hidden.

That would be the day before then if I remember correctly. Remember it waited until the hunt to get any snow last year.

I'm sure they learned their lesson about footprints now though.

Actually that was just a dusting, and the footprints weren't fresh so it was the snowfall before that.

Maybe it was a bit earlier than the first clue

I'm pretty sure that no one found more than one jewel from the first book, and no rings from the second had been claimed up until they shut the website down.

I seem to recall a decent amount of snow on the ground before the hunt last year.

We had a warm front that came in and melted what little we had on the ground early in January but we received a couple of inches right before and during the hunt itself.

Looks like we might be in for the same this year... It's supposed to get close to 40 this weekend.

Luckily we have a decent base this year. Unfortunately, I see quite a bit of ice damming happening in our near future. :eyeroll:

I think the Big Wheel was the best toy of that generation. I don't think I'll ever forget the sound of kids racing up and down the sidewalk on their Big Wheels.

I agree! We had big wheels in every size shape and color at our house.

I pass the Oscar Johnson arena fairly often being I work very near there.

But not for long. I have been offered and have accepted a different position with the state. I start the new job on the 17th of January and am real excited about it. New challenges and room for advancement.

I just heard on the news about DMV people getting busted for looking up people on the clock!! and stuff that they aren't sopse to look up one of my old friends use to do that!! I'm working in one of the Ombudsman offices as an office manager. I will be working in the state Administrative offices doing financial stuff.

I read that too about the public safety department folks looking up license information.

I don't remember the exact quote - and could look it up but don't think I will - but Soucheray said something to the effect that he wondered how many offices had their own Sonia Pitt. That license thing is just one more fine example of your state tax dollars hard at work. :ooh:

yep and the thing that I get a kick out of is the former friend use to sit at his desk ALL DAY and just talk on the phone and went out ot smoke like ten plus times a day!! it was sad!! I use to call him and he would just sit there and bs for ever and I was like you should get back to work!! and he was like I am I am playing solatre!! I was like nice to see my tax dollars at WORK!!!

Where I work they make a very strong point of reminding people not to be looking up people's private information. But that has more to do with HIPPA since we're not a government agency.

HIPPA is a big deal where it's required. That was the case where I was before going to the state.

And one can only take jobs when they are offered. The timing sucks. No time off for awhile. But for the new challenges offered long term - it's a win-win situation. They actually asked me to apply - three times. It's a new position so that too will evolve.

I know we were talking about WHEN the CW hid the medallion -this list is more for how much snow was on the ground during the hunts in 2000+ (I believe this CW began in 2002 with merriam)

I think your recollection is a bit off. There was no snow at all at Como in 2003. 2004 and 2005 had just an inch or two on the ground. Merriam actually did have snow at about this point in time, but then it all melted away by the time it was found.

The pioneer press was pioneerplanet.com for their online stuff until about 2000 or early 2001 I believe. I remember Carolyn saying something about the change coming at the fair one year.

Ok I still cant get my computer to take a screen shot of the page that I posted yesterday!! and I don't want to give up one of my tools just yet If we where talking about this after AW's hunt I would post the web site i found thats kool to me!!

came during the hunt. there was only a trace at the beginning if I remember correctly.

2004 was bitterly cold!! but not to much snow about 4in. on the ground! there where alot of small dusting's! of snow after the hunt started but not that much!

define alot. where it was hidden there was snow - a good foot or more.

there was snow in como in 2003 in those woods - people dug alot

the same year many of us were down on Harriet digging in snow/wild flowers.

2004 at phalen we were sifting snow with my sifter that I didnt get a chance to use til that hunt...and I was digging deep with new daddy next to me the same year he got jabbed in the ear with a banch and possibly broke his eardrum and the Camo Crew bought is all tacos in the park because of all the snow.

2005 at Crosby had snow because that was the time that jake and cm dug up that fishing bucket in foot deep snow.... funny as hell! P & U!!

well see in the woods there is going to be lots more snow because of the cover! and I know Crosby had tons of snow!! I parked on a snow bank on clue 12 to get in to the park fast!!
