Actually, felons can vote in Minnesota as long as they're off probation/parole. As far as caucusing with the greens, you can't caucus for Al Franken tomorrow night and then go to the Green caucus in March. You have to pick one or the other.
I know Again I was being a smart ass and On the felon thing you Mite just want to check that again coming from one of my ex-family members that we no longer talk to He CANT VOTE for LIFE and another of my Friends who just got off cant vote for life eather??
and with the caucusing thing I think thats just a gid line lol!! I think the only reason they say that is it is a conflict of interest!! like if we where in court I could defend you against me and still represent my self!! lol It would BE FUNNY to see someone do that!!
I think I would die of a heart attack if I saw someone do that!!
I think Obama is so articulate and is a wonderful speaker. I heard today on talk radio, and have a tendency to agree...Hillary has experience and knowledge that the other candidates don't have.
The caller said he's torn. I am too. I like them both for different reasons.
Assuming the democrats win and it's either Obama or Hillary on the ballot - this will be an historical election. First woman or first man of color sitting in the highest office in the country.
and the possibility of them running together will be monumental
OR the first President of either and possible first Vice President as either
I dont think the Republican party is very strong this year.
I've never been a McCain fan - something just not honest about him.
same with Mitt Romney - his family looks wonderful but there is a feeling I get that there is something not right behind the scenes.
I find myself to be more Independent since I agree with some things from each party. But this particular election? Obama and Clinton are strong. Put them together and I feel they could take over the world-a super power. I can see them laughing with that evil laugh in the privacy of the Oval office. I can also see them getting things done for this country.
I can also see them getting things done for this country.
And isn't it about time?!?!?
My hesitation in this is I remember how excited the country was when Jimmy Carter was elected. It was all about change. He was and is a great person - but we darn near ended up in a recession worse than the Great Depression of the 30s.
It is why I am leaning towards Hillary as the presidential candidate because of the experience. But I would be happy either way. I really like them both.
And that's why I'm supporting Obama. I don't want a Billary White House. Plus, Obama is inspirational. Much as Kennedy was. I was 17 years old when Kennedy was elected and wasn't able to vote for him. I was really looking forward to voting for him in 1964. I kind of feel like this is my chance to vote for someone with a similar style and ethic.
I did that last year. It was really dumb though because you get points for cosponsoring bills, so the best legislators to have were the ones who signed on to the most bills, rather than the ones who actually got the most done.
to get involved in the process reg! its your right in this country. a lot of men and women fought and died so you could have that right
that and its an interesting experience. unfortunately, i've got a group meeting at school tomorrow night, but tc's taking the kids along with her for the experience of it all.
I think I'm going to submit a resolution for the disenfranchised So. St. Paul voters in P/4 W/2 and P/5 W/3, who are the only people living in SSP who are not part of Congressional District 39. We have been lumped into District 57, which is not even in our county, and gives us no voice in local decisions. I understand the need for redistricting, but I think it should take into consideration the county one lives in at the very least.
We have been split off here from one district to another over the years. Changes our polling place and sometimes leaves up voting for those running for office in the north end.
Help me out here. I'm ashamed to say I don't know how to use Windows to write a document. I want to write up my resolution and bring it with me to the caucus.
OT - If Microsoft Works - you may only find something called Microsoft Works Launcher in your programs listed. Use that to get started. From there you'll find the word processing part.
I have a friend who claims she is independent - but only votes Republican. Her hubby is a dyed in the wool Democrat. She can't believe anyone would vote for Hillary because she didn't dump Bill because of his affairs.
I know I would have - it's not in me to forgive and forget that nonsense. But others think she did the right thing by standing by him.
did anyone see "the queen" where philip is making the comment that everyone has a mistress. she raises an eyebrow and asks "do they?"
unfortunately i think that's a problem that can come with the territory regardless of title (no pun intended). and i know i wouldn't be as forgiving, and tc claims she would remove my, um, yeah, and make me look like the ceremonial dinner pig. apple replaced with other, um, fruit.
of course if another stint in the white house were her goal all along, it pays well to use the guy who's already been in there.
That's great that you're doing this, I just wanted to make you aware that the resolution must be on the official form or it won't be accepted. Copies will be available at your caucus, or if you want to egram me your email address I can send it to you.
Yes, I know that. I've been a precinct captain in the past when I had more energy. It takes a lot of time, which I have more than enough of now, but I lack the energy now.
I just want to get it down on paper so I can refer to it when the time comes.
I think Hillababe just wants some sweet revenge on Billyboy. I already submitted my application as deskside poolboy. Creepy yes, but chicks with power turn me on. except for Oprah of course. :eyeroll:
And I don't really see Hillary & Borat being on the same ticket. Too many promises to others in their own camps. Plus they don't need each other to nab the presidency. The repubs are out even if I ran.
I found this at dfl.org this morning and this helps support my proposal I think:
"Use the DFL caucus finder to identify your County Unit* chair, and contact that person to know how to submit your letter. A sample letter can be found at the bottom of this page.
Note that in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, St Louis, Stearns, and Washington counties, your County Unit is the same as your Senate District. Some of those counties have party organizations that organize for county elections, but they do not oversee the caucus process."
Essentially, my County Unit chair represents a county that I don't even live in.
I'm getting fired up now. But I'm afraid my resolution doesn't fit the description of what can be voted on to move it to the District Convention for consideration. Its more of a local or party issue and not a platform issue.
Where you live, he/she would be called the senate district chair instead of county unit chair. In rural MN, where you've got county units instead of senate districts, everyone who is represented by a county unit lives in that county.
I think I would die of a heart attack if I saw someone do that!!
right to vote. It also stipulates that a felonÂ’s civil rights are automatically reinstated
when he or she completes their sentence. Completing a sentence means that they have
completed all parole, probation, and any other terms of their sentence. This is also
known as being “off-paper”. Once a person completes their sentence they have the
right to vote. See Minnesota statute 609.165 for more details
which candidate do we want on top?
thx for the tagline cm
The caller said he's torn. I am too. I like them both for different reasons.

I like this...
find your candidate
looks like I need a new candidate
for BFG ..
that and its an interesting experience. unfortunately, i've got a group meeting at school tomorrow night, but tc's taking the kids along with her for the experience of it all.
however, as long as a d wins, i'll be happy
But in a different county is ridiculous.
I'm torn now as Osama was over Clinty and I was going to vote for Bill's Broad.  Now I don't know what to do.
Either way, I didn't match anyone on immigration :frown:
Works?
There is a program in each of those for word processing. In Office, it's Microsoft Word. In Works its Works Word Processor.
Just open that and use it like one used to use a typewriter - type in your letter and then print it off.
If all else fails, every computer has a notepad. You could write it in there and print it off.
I have a friend who claims she is independent - but only votes Republican. Her hubby is a dyed in the wool Democrat. She can't believe anyone would vote for Hillary because she didn't dump Bill because of his affairs.

Good luck with your letter, OT. Glad you found your word processor.
Goodnight and SCDs!

Glad you said it. I wanted to but bit my tongue.

Unless you guys heard something I haven't.

Here's Hillary's Video
Actually Here's a better one
I took that test and 3 people tied for first place - this guy, a democrat and a republican -my goodness -what to do.
