Yes, the HTML did allow for some personality--look at some of E&H Mom's early posts--now that was a font! But sadly, some people's personality leads them to do obnoxious things, so it is gone. Speaking of which, this board is missing something without the chaotic wisdom of my pal, PIE. No one else can go from wisdom to pure insane rage like that boy!
Wondered what was keeping that puppy from selling. It's been up for sale for about four months now and for around here that's like four years. It's gone thru like three owners in the last four years. It, as most houses around here, was never on the market for more than maybe two weeks, max.
House just the udder side o'Les? About two years ago, there was actually a bidding war on it! Was only on the market like a matter of HOURS! Man, you should have seen the people to'ing and fro'ing from that place that day!
You'd only been 1.5 blocks east o'the best steaks in the world! About 3 +/- blocks south o'me.
JAKE!!! How the heck are you??? Hope you've one easy question in your batch Saturday I can answer. Like, maybe, "What colour's The Med???" LOL!!! Nice to see you bock! I'm looking forward to your game. I KNOW it will be fun!!!
Okay, guys. I'm not getting much help or any ideas on the signs. Your help, knowledge, and xpertise is needed!!!
Also need some suggestions and ideas (Downtown Dave, Ter, Greg, Steve W., you guys should be good with this one) for places to take good sunrise and sunset filmage (is that a word? How about "footage"?) over St. Paul. Need some ideas here folks!
Also, can you think of some places that are well lit at nite that would make for good filming? Xample: Rice Park. Is there a place in Como? What about Highland? (All I could think of were the hockey rinks at Conway... LOL!!!)
Besides McGovern's, where would be a good place to hold one-on-one interviews, indoors, particularly during the day???? Anyone?
Is anyone available/able to interview/meet with the film crews on the 23rd in the afternoon? Also, the evening of the 23rd we need to all get together someplace, possibly McGovern's (maybe not, I'm still working on that - see above question) because the film crews want to get going meeting everyone. As soon as the place is determined, it will be posted here, as well as the time, so all who wish to may come and join in!
One place and time has been determined and anyone that doesn't have to work, can get outta work/school, takes vacation during the hunt, etc., should show up at: 12:00 PM (noon) on Wedensday, January 24th, at Rice Park. They want to do interviews with the ice carvings going on around them. (This, of course, hinges on us not being hot and heavy on the trail o'The Med!!! It couldn't be found THAT soon, could it??????)
Put your thinking caps on, everbuddy! The film crews need our help!
Green - On a clear day, Mounds Park is an excellent place for a good sunset shot with the skyline included. It is a good place for a morning photo as well as the sun begins to illuminate the buildings.
I just thought o'this... Chair-O-Key. Tho I guess since you're looking north you'd not get much sun rise/set. But what do you think of a nite-time shot? Looking north. Isn't that a pretty good view o'the skyline?
I dunno about Chair-O-Key proper, but from the top of the High Bridge, the Capitol is right smack at the end of the bridge in your view. Could be another good spot.
I saw Dad and Emily at Byerlys tonight! I heard about the new and improved medallion mobile!
Green- the 23rd looks good for me. Here is a crazy out of wack idea- is the conservatory at Como open now? We could ask if we could do interviews in there. I dunno.
Oooohhh! That would be pretty. When I went down to Concord late this afternoon, well - early evening... Oh! The memories! The bridges were all lit up and so beautiful. The First Star "1" was gently pulsating in the fog. You could just barely make out the Capital... It was so beautiful and xcting. I got sparklies and my stomach did flip-flops!
Tim, no idea's crazy and outta wack when a group's brain storming. You never ever know what will be thought up.
Cooler about Byerly's! Yeah, Mom's come thru AGAIN! She's fantastic! I'm gonna make my Chile Cheeze Dip, gulyas, and a SLEW o'chicken wings for folks to nosh on. Diggers and filmers need sustance to keep going and going and going! I can't noodle a clue for diddly so I'm not much help there, but I can cook!
Another good stretch, although it IS nearly the same view as the one from Mounds, is from Shepard/Warner Road going West toward downtown. There have been a few mornings this past week, I could have kicked myself for not having brought the camera with.
The skyline is in full view, and the moon (well, this past week anyway) lights up the river...
That's gotta be close to what I was seeing tonite as I was right above it on 94, rite before the highway turns, when I could see everything. That is pretty. Oh, yes!
Yup! :D It was him and his droll perspective (I LOVE his wit!) that gave it to me.
When I got all bent outta shape over my old handle being swiped when they deleted 1998, I had to think of a new one and I was in a BIG hurry to get in here and noodle (I'm sure that doesn't surprise you...) and so I just did green and tossed on the "dot" at the end.
I didn't like it, but Dad said, "Oh. I do. It fits. green... period." And I've loved it ever since.
Geez! Things have been busy here. What night is the deal with the documentary people? I have a training to do on the 23rd until 9 or after. I'm not available that night.
As far as good places to photograph - the conservatory at Como is lit at night...and the pavillion by the lake as well. Those are always nice photos day or night.
Any photos at Phalen would have to be during the day...nothing lit out there at night.
Doing a photo of the capitol mall could be interesting - and depending on the time of day, there might be some interesting shadows or highlights on the capitol building itself.
Many of the parks are better photographed during the day as there is not much lit at night.
Kellogg Park would be one exception to that.
There is a nice shot of the downtown skyline from 61 coming into the city from the north.
Inside of the lobby of the Xcel energy center?????? We'd have to call first, but there is a sports bar and grill that is open before all home games, I don't know if we could do it any other time, we'd hafta find out.
That's not going to be the only time, Ter. That's just the first day they get in and they want to get going immediately. What about the evening o'the 24th, Wednesday?
They'll prolly do interviews thru the whole ding-dang Hunt! And afterwards. Tues nite they just want to meet folks and kind'a get them used to the cameras, put names to faces, stuff like that.
Green - My take on all this is that Guide was so used to seeing green that he hadn't realized it was black this year.
no green, you aren't green!!!lol
double JOE!!!!
I wonder if <b>bold</b> text still works?
dislike not having HTML, but typing lower case i without turning your post italic is kinda cool!
DOHHHHHHHH!
It's the simpler way of doing things that sometimes works the best. :-)
You are so bold Ter!
Why am I having so much difficulty logging into the water cooler this year?
Dunno, class, but really NICE Joe!
And same to you, Tim.
You know, you guys, ittiz hard being green... LOL!!!

I bet PIE will be back this year.......
Hello! I still need to get to business and noodle that clue, Tim! Thanks for the practice - Lord knows I need it!!!!
Just got back from picking up granola makings, prolly will put that together this afternoon. Not sure what we're gonna do for dinner yet.
I miss my font, too. It's too bad there's not a happy medium, where we could still have a *little* fun. :)
I saw your font when I slogged, Mom. It was very nice. Very you.
I had a box o'Kraft Mac & Cheeze fur dinner. They've this kind now with 40% MORE cheeze. GREAT stuff.
Now I need to get cleaned up and head down to Roberts Street.
Mom, was the house blue and on a corner?
Yep, that's the one....no garage though - way too much $$ for a house with no garage!
Wondered what was keeping that puppy from selling. It's been up for sale for about four months now and for around here that's like four years. It's gone thru like three owners in the last four years. It, as most houses around here, was never on the market for more than maybe two weeks, max.

I *thought* we were pretty darned close....
OH well.....I don't think that one's probably the *one*. Keep your eyes open, if you would for any that look both BIG and CHEAP :) lol!
Go Vikings!!! And take the Twins with you.
JAKE!!! How the heck are you??? Hope you've one easy question in your batch Saturday I can answer. Like, maybe, "What colour's The Med???" LOL!!! Nice to see you bock! I'm looking forward to your game. I KNOW it will be fun!!!
And a Joe!, too!

St. Paul's such a pretty city. I just love it.
On a less 'pretty' note, maybe we could use the St. Paul library?
Tim, no idea's crazy and outta wack when a group's brain storming. You never ever know what will be thought up.

Byerlys! If you go around back of Byerlys you can get the best pic of a sunset ever. I dunno if that is what you want.
I don't know either, Tim, just picking our collective brain as I've been asked to.
I've captured all your ideas... *Where's* Byerly's???
Joe!!!
Tim's talking about the Byerly's by 3M - 94 & WB ave.
You know what??!! Dad didn't even *mention* seeing anyone while they were out until just now! The NERVE!
I felt bad, because I forgot his 'real' name. I looked at him, and said something like "hey dad" it took him a bit to recognize me.
Another good stretch, although it IS nearly the same view as the one from Mounds, is from Shepard/Warner Road going West toward downtown. There have been a few mornings this past week, I could have kicked myself for not having brought the camera with.

Thanks, Mom, for clearing the mud! LOL!!!
I think he's pretty used to answering to "dad" by now :)
Hehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone figured out my little riddle? Note: it is kinda a general area.
That's gotta be close to what I was seeing tonite as I was right above it on 94, rite before the highway turns, when I could see everything. That is pretty. Oh, yes!
Mom, has Dad been slogging or lurking? Has he seen my tag line? LOL!
I've not yet, Tim. I've been a titch preoccupied elsewhere. In fact, I need to go scrounge up Steve's book! I think ittiz still in the backpack!
I doubt it - he doesn't get a lot of putter time - least till he gets his machine fixed up! Would it mean somehting to him?
Yup! :D It was him and his droll perspective (I LOVE his wit!) that gave it to me.

I'll be sure and pass that on to him - it'll make him smile!
Since green got a period, I decided that I deserve a little asterisk dealy! So now instead of tim_the_hunter it is tim*
the asterisk dealie will read... you shall call him tim and you shall recognize him as the great tim_the_hunter
JOE!!!!

The evening o'the 23rd, Tuesday. No time or place has been established yet, Ter.
Wednesday, the 24th at 12:00 noon at Rice Park has been. They want to interview with the ice carving going on.
Keep the ideas coming, Ladies and Gents!!!
Shoot! I can't make it the 23rd. Just not doable.
Inside of the lobby of the Xcel energy center?????? We'd have to call first, but there is a sports bar and grill that is open before all home games, I don't know if we could do it any other time, we'd hafta find out.
Not even after 9:00 PM?

There is also some neat photo ops along Mississippi River Blvd...especially at Summit.
