Awwwww don't worry, be happy! :frown: :eyeroll:
Sticker shock when you buy a car is one thing, sticker shock when you get a paycheck is just plain ugly.
Hey girl, keep yer head up - your car still works, and at least you're not UN-employed. I'd loan you some of my vacation hours, but I don't think they can be exchanged easily...
My boss(es) were at least good enough to warn us; we had a company meeting last week and they told us that since 60%-70% of our manufacturing lines are directly related to the automotive industry, we're going to take a serious hit this summer. Last time it happened in 2001 most of the full-timers worked shorter (34-35 hour) weeks for about four months so we could stay afloat.
I really wanna know who that FICA dude is - they are making some serious cash out of my paycheck!
You just need to take the difference in office supplies me2. That's how the world balances itself out.
jk - it does suck when you get that first check but you need to remember that this last week was the hardest it's gonna get. If you're working like this for that kind of pay, it should be comforting to know you'll be getting the same pay for less work as you grow into your job. But I still feel for ya gal.
this site isn't accessible from my internet connection at work, AGAIN.
I think comcast is blocking it, as I can get in fine with a proxy.. Wonder if I can install a php style proxy on my website...

for the most part you don't want to use a proxy...
easy way to explain it....is :
A firewall mechanism that replaces the IP address of a host on the internal (protected) network with its own IP address for all traffic passing through it.
in other words....
Lets say I wanted to visit espn.com at work.... but my work blocks espn.com.....I can visit a proxy site that changes the ip....so my work doesn't know I'm looking at espn.com.
but...my work blocks proxy sites....so I need to find a new one almost daily just to access ableminds.
I have talked to my boss and his boss...they know i do this...and ok with it....
all the kids are coming out tonight and she really really wants to come. I gave her Tylenol and she'll see how she feels when the time comes but we don't want anyone else getting sick :frown::frown:
Irony: When the director of IT recruiting, who, a month earlier turns down your request for transfer to his department because "you just don't have an IT background" comes to me this morning for help zipping a file because none of his recruiters know how to do it.
Congresswoman Michelle Bachman - or at least whomever is sending out her garbage flyers.
We get a flyer about four times a year - just got a recent one last week.
Do you know that even in 'ritzy republican' Woodbury, Bachman only beat out Patty Wetterling by 40 votes out of about 6000? Not exactly a mandate.
Her promotional material is pure ultra-conservative propaganda, and the part that really irks me is the small print that says "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense."
lately I've been making my own coffee at work. I got one of those french press mugs at Dunn Bros with some of my winnings from the roseville hunt. It works fairly well, but ya do tend to get a little grit with your coffee.
The guy at the shop says they're great for loose leaf tea too, I haven't tried that yet. One thing I gotta learn is how to clean this thing properly to get rid of all the coffee oils....
I have a french press on my desk, that I use for coffee. One of the women here at work brought in another one that we use for loose leaf tea - it does make fantastic tea. They were both $14 each, so that may be an option to just have two.
I prefer my french press most days - but when I'm sick, nothing like someone bringing me a hot, skinny latte.
irritates: coming into work today - to find out that I messed up my trucking, doing a saving grace technique and shipping double tomorrow, but not only am I here, I've been here for 2 hours earlier than I ever come in. :barf:
here is mine. the cup next to it, it fills about 75% of the way with one making. which seems to be just fine -then I don't spill it when trying to slurp and walk.
I hate drinking out of commuter mugs - the plastic taste drives me nuts.
Yeah I agree. But they do work well on the go. Here's the mug I use for tea (and to keep coffee hot). I got the warmer at a garage sale for some 50 cents. It works a ton better than one I paid 10 bucks for a while ago.
here I thought I was the only one...and I was retarded or something...
well...I am...but thats besides the point...
Hmmmm. Well, then I'd better drink it up so it doesn't spill or go flat or something.
Then the sodium and/or sugar will make me thirstier faster and I'll go open another one.
I know not everyone falls for these tricks, but you can bet good old Coke designed this flaw right into the cap, on purpose.
I wonder how much more Coke they will sell now.

A cow, grazing in the clover, swallowed a bee.
The bee found itself in the cow's stomach, and it was warm there, so the bee fell asleep, and when he woke up, the cow was gone.
Why and who???
ok I get it!!! lol!! :sheepish: :sheepish: :sheepish: :sheepish: :coolfrown: :coolfrown: :coolfrown:
thank god, and the people who knocked 2 drinks out of my hands last night, for no hangover this morning -just tired
all the kids are coming out tonight and she really really wants to come. I gave her Tylenol and she'll see how she feels when the time comes but we don't want anyone else getting sick :frown::frown:
the world is FULL of them. and for some reason they all work with me.
Current count is 2.
We get a flyer about four times a year - just got a recent one last week.

I'm stuck at work (still sick) and the trucks were supposed to be here at 7 am - they weren't - they still aren't here.
I could have been SLEEPING.
but.. one nice thing - one of the guys I work with, went and got me a skinny latte at starbucks. someone loves me :pbpt:
The guy at the shop says they're great for loose leaf tea too, I haven't tried that yet. One thing I gotta learn is how to clean this thing properly to get rid of all the coffee oils....
