Take I-35 E or I-35W to I-694 north of St. Paul to the Victoria Street exit. Proceed north on Victoria Street approximately 1/2 mile to 4191 Snail Lake Boulevard and turn east (right). Proceed on Snail Lake Boulevard to Snail Lake Park, on the north side of the road.
I hope it's on that side because I might have a chance to look at 6 if it is. Much more ground to cover. Were you out there BFG? Does it look better on that side?
I was out this afternoon by the other tunnel, the one right by the parking lot off of snail lake rd. The was no one else looking there or by the tunnel in the photo. I don't think the tunnel in the photo I posted is the right one because it's too far from a parking lot.
Tempted to run out and get a paper...wonder if Digger is out and about, I have to drive to Forest Lake, could stop by the park for a bit, but thinking already a bunch out there
I saw 2 kids white mittens out there that looked like socks yesterday. I wonder if someone found it and isn't turning it in. Becks saids theres a lot of people out there today and there was a lot yesterday too.
Another '6 degrees' moment - We have some friends that live at the 'end' of Gramsie - the dead end part on the west side of Victoria - directly under the "Twin" towers - I wonder if they have looked in their back yard yet?
TONS of deer in that area - with hunters in the park there's probably more in his backyard...
We gave up, partly because we didn't see any standout GIANT trees (like some that we saw at Crosby) and in part because some dude came walking around saying that he thought some guy found it at 10 (am) yesterday because he went "tearing out of the park" with a gold package. He said that he thinks it was found just south of the tunnel nearest to the Snail Lake Avenue (?) & Snail Lake Road intersection, past the bench, between the path and the creek. (all of this for those of you that have been hunting and know where I'm talking about) This guy that approached us also claimed that there was a tree "in the shape of Illinois"...(yeah, right)...in that area. Feeling fairly defeated anyway, we decided to give it up. Frustrating hunt if it's at Snail Lake and they tell us that on the 5th out of 7th clues. I mean, this place is HUGE...and then they just tell you that it's 40 paces off the path under the giant tree?!?!?! Uh...which tree would that be??? Pu-leeze!!!!!!
I'm gonna call B.S. on this one, if that guy thought it had been found why would he be wasting his time in the park? Also, in past years the Twins have been good about getting a press release on their website and nothing's up there.
Well, for anyone that might still go looking for it...my best bet is in the fallen trees in the "marshy-looking area" (marshy when not frozen, that is) that is to your left after you pass under the tunnel...curve around the path a bit and there are two on your left that could qualify for 40 paces in.
Alex, personally...I thought the guy's efforts were a little shady after he began to talk about a tree shaped like Illinois
He said he was just trying to be a good sportsman and warn everyone so they don't waste their time looking for something that was likely already found.
He sounded sane up until that point...so I call bullshit, too,...I'm not buying it. Wonder what he'll say if nobody turns it in by the deadline?????
have I mentioned that these emoticons are stupid??? I guess I should tell it to the sysop

Go underground, then come
back out. Continue on, you're on
the right route.
?????????
I don't know which or where this park is
under the courthouse??
Although, I like your area too just because of parking and lots of woods.
Clue 7
Off the path, 40 paces you
must go, underneath a giant tree,
cloaked like chicago

Mr. Greeley's plea.

squirrels and rabbits roam.

The signs out there do say they were placed by the "turtle triathlon"
I didn't drive up there but the sign that shows the other tunnels looks like it shows a tunnel up by turtle lake.

The turtle beat the hare in the race. You might be on to something, mrmikey.
