Coming from someone who has drove a tow truck it wont work!!! lol nice try!!
they DONT CARE!!! at all they will give you the custumary We will talk to that driver and fix it!! they will call him in and say did you do it he will say yes or no and they will say ok?? and thats about all the farther it will go!!
well for me I shouldnt be having wiskey d@#k!!! and thats not a good thing I need to get in to get checked out!! I think it was a once in a life time thing!! I HOPE!!
Complaining only works if you can solidly identify the vehicle, either by the plate number or the vehicle I.D. number usually on the front side fenders.
They will know exactly which driver did it. The other thing you should do is call the NON-EMERGENCY number for the cops - at night it usually gets patched into 911 anyway, but give them the information as well - they have to log all that stuff - and THEY will get on the tower's case if enough complaints come into them.
If you cannot get a plate or unique I.D., forget about it - no one will even bother documenting the call unless you have something solid.
If I have a reckless driver or someone doing 100+ on the freeway, I eyeball their plate and call the cops within 20 seconds; and if I can't I'll write the plate number on my arm if I have to remember it. I don't give a rats patootie of they are sick of me calling every day - at least I know they have to log the call.
Thanks for the info.. Next time, and I have no doubt there will be a next time, I'll double back and follow them back to the lot.
The trouble when you have someone tailgating you is you can't see their plate, and by the time you pull off the road they've whizzed by ya so fast that you can't see their rear plate either.
Used Kitch's info and called the VP of Merchandising. Talked to him, actually. Nice guy, apparently they *had* a home depot registry, but it totally sucked, so they took it down, and just bit the bullet that they wouldn't have any, until they could do it right, but it's a low priority to do it and do it right.
We got shafted on our wedding registry at Target - some glitch in the system had all but maybe five items marked on our registry list as "Purchased".
After the wedding we griped and they restored the registry and gave us something like $75 worth of gift cards. I don't know if that makes up for unwrapping a lifetime supply of bath towels from everyone who "didn't know what else to get" us. It's been close to ten years and we still have (I think) four full sets of towels that haven't been used yet.
Having lived in a market where Lowes and HD duke it out, the biggest difference is that Lowes stores are always clean and target the female shopper. In the MSP market, Menards is a very strong competitor and the condition of a HD is nothing like they usually are. These locations have about 1/4 of the business a typical location of their SE U.S. stores.
Go to an Menards, HD, and Lowes all on the same day, and it's easy to see where the buying is taking place. HD has some 'dud' locations, like the one at Northtown mall.

Yeah. When the sales kids are rolling around on those spinner heels to help customers, you can tell management is kind of slipping...
When I lived in Elk River, the new Home Depot got a ton of attention for about four weeks, then it went to hell - ER's Menards store has been there longer and has a helluva lot more stuff. Better quality lumber too.
For all the negative comments about Menards, I expected the one here to be like the one in WSP was when I lived there. But, although Menards here is the only large store of its type in the area, and could have an attitude about that, they are instead helpful, knowledgable, and efficient.
There is a Lowe's coming into the area this year. I don't think it will affect Menards, except that Menards is busy remodeling, so hopefully it can only get better.
But it will unfortunately run the small lumber businesses out of town. That is sad for everyone involved and will take away some of our options for quality materials.
When Lowes opened the first stores in FL that were close to an existing HD, the local HD would load up 2 or 3 busloads of their employees all dressed in orange vests and make an 'appearance' in the store during Lowes' Grand Opening day. They quit doing it after a just a few times. I suspect it garnered too much negative publicity for HD.
we just got our first lowes in my area about 6 months ago. All we have (big chain) wise is HD - which bought out one family chain - yardbirds. but .. we have a family chain called Friedmans & they just kill everyone else - the are competitive priced and have everything - their motto: if we don't have it - you don't need it.
my attorney emailed me to tell me that my grandfather's attorney is filing suit to try to force me to sell the house in 60 days.
the market sucks - but even with that, I don't know if I can afford the buy out right now.
ugh. i'm just heartbroken, my grandmother would never have wanted the house sold. I don't know what to do. It's not like you are given any kind of training in dealing with estates in school.
Geez. That does suck. I hope you can get them to accept a lowball offer, in this market (real estate is losing $2800 per day per property in some California markets, according to a recent article I read) and can afford to do the buy-out. Risky, I know, since who knows when the market will turn around. I suppose you have to weigh the sentimental and family aspects against the purely business and financial factors. A tough decision. Good luck!
doing the tour de hospitals. we get done with sue's dad, and her stepdad ends up in fairview southdale with an obstructed bowel, of which they remove 18" of dead intestine because of a heretofore unknown internal hernia. (they also found his pacemaker/defibrillator needs replacement because the battery is running low, and that he has an inch long aneurysm somewhere in his groin).
he's out and doing fine right now, and my aunt calls me last night to tell me she took my grandmother in to the er on advice of her doctor being symptomatic of a stroke. which she had, albeit a very mild one. sheesh. we just can't win.
i'm feeling like some obscure combination of job from the old testament and tevye from fiddler.
thanks all - this is kinda an enjoy - my friend Evan called me later that day - he spotted something wrong in my voice. I cried when telling him everything that was up, and he says - i'm not a lawyer but I have dealt alot with estates, and wrote up like 5 pages of stuff for me to do, and is going to try to hold my hand through all of it.
Have I told you how much I love my friends?
also - this weekend, I was driving in a really quaint neighborhood kinda by where I live, and saw a bunch of cute small houses, that are awesome. I thought to myself - if I have to sell :barf: I could also sell the house I'm in (that needs work - alot of work) and get one of these for not much of a payment - and start anew.
It would still break my heart - but I am trying to look for a positive spin if I have to do that.

I think after I get the roommate paid off I am going to build a new one!! and then I will sell this one to the highest bidder!!!!! Not on Ebay I Hate that place!!! but I would hook a friend up with a good deal on it if they wanted it!!!

Specifically "There is a special character in the description of one of the items."
There are over 40,000 items in this database. Can you say, needle in a haystack?
