Winning again in card well if you call it that!! I took a 3 way chop!!! and I wound up with 3rd after limping my way there and comeing back to have almost all the chips!! lol!!
finally!! learning the name of a song.. since the first time I went to mexico there is this song.. and everyone sings it- it's Baila Morena! I didn't know that - or who did it until recently.. I'm so happy - now I can go get it. It's good dancing music - something I can incorporate into my gym cardio music. yay!
going to run 5 miles tonight - in hopes of kickstarting my metabolism again.
I like the one zucchero / mana version myself.. (I heart mana)
you mean Carlos Helu' the telcel guy.. yah.. he's pretty dang rich. funny thing is - in mexico cell time is so expensive everyone has the nextel push to talks.
I saw the compound of the guy who owns all the gas in mexico, panama, costarica, and like 5 other places.. let's just say, the rich there are really rich.. the poor there are really poor.
god only knows how many more to go. although i have enough credits that my degree will actually be awarded now, i've still got a research project to finish up for a few extra credits that i'll be working on over the summer and maybe into the fall. but that'll be good practice for the real research to come as i work towards changing my screen name to dr. ares.
i'll be working with these guys. that whole project has fascinated me since i was an undergrad. the plan for the current project is to actually produce something publishable in a journal.
after some 5 more years, i'll have a phd in computer science.
Congratulations on going for what you want and accomplishing so much
don't forget to move your thingy from one side to the other when they give you your diploma. ....and get your mind out of the gutter, I meant your tassel  :sheepish:
Wrens building a nest in a birdhouse I've had in my tree for years with no nest building activity. I'm really excited about that. They have such a cheerful song. Pathetic, huh?
Did you know they eat insects? Did you know that the male "shops around" for a home and brings the female to the various locations he's found and she chooses? They chose mine! :pbpt:
"Did you know that the male "shops around" for a home and brings the female to the various locations he's found and she chooses? They chose mine!"
That is so sweet, OT!
I don't think it is pathetic at all. I think its great when we take a moment to think what an honor it is that a small creature should find safety in our midst.
I do wish that Cecelia the Red Squirrel and her babies would move out though. She's shakin' my confidence...
Speaking of squirrels, I met one in my attic yesterday. I made new curtains for the windows, and when I went up to hang them there was a squirrel sitting on top of the window. Now what? A live trap?
I would definatly try to trap it. They can cause a lot of damage. Block their entrance if you can find it. You may have to watch it for a while because they'll chew their way back in if they can, even if you plug the hole. They hate mothballs. Sprinkle them around to deter it.
If you catch it you need to drive it at least a few miles away so it don't find it's way back. Also make sure there's no "babies" in the nest. Theres gotta be a nest nearby.
I'd try some rat poison myself. You really dont want it to cause any damage.
Thanks for the information. I think I'll start with moth balls. I'm not crazy about the thought of driving around with a trapped squirrel in my car. The rat poison option isn't very appealing either. But I guess meeting up with a dead squirrel is better than finding a dead one. Yikes!
once picked up a squirrel i thought was dead to take to my neighbor who liked to stuff them and hang them in his house (he was an old strange man) cause it hardly looked smacked.
little *$_#_:confused:$(#_)@! was just stunned and woke up in the back seat of my car. My mom and I fled the car mid street both doors open to have him fly out and get nailed by on coming traffic.
The second time he didn't look so pretty.. so we didn't pick him up again. :asleep:
I'd live trap it, then throw a towel over the cage while you drive it.
My wildlife biologist friend said take it 10 miles, to be sure it won't come back.
Then of course plug up any holes so nothing else gets in.
The red squirrel in my attic is not in a place we can get at - too far into the corner under the eaves - and she has babies. I heard one crying - yes crying - while we had her in the live trap.
So we let her go. Thirty minutes later she went running across the soffit and the crying stopped. Once she leads the babies out, we will live-trap her and her babies and relocate them, meanwhile closing up where she got in.
They are in the nest 40 days, and dependent on the mom for 12 weeks. That's for red squirrels.
My grandpa on my moms side, lived a few blocks from Mounds, on Pacific... He had squirrel problems in his yard/garden for a while...
he started putting out live traps to catch them... Whenever he was lucky enough to do so (which happened quite a bit), he would spray-paint their tail orange, and drive them to Mounds and let them go...
This happened Friday night, about 2 miles from here:
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- A pet pig that escaped from its owner in Chocolay Township has been captured. The pig, named Zeuss, escaped from a home on Green Bay Street Friday afternoon and was found wandering on Lakewood Lane.
Even with a name like Zeuss, he was no match for Chocolay Township Police Chief Greg Zyburt who was able to coax the pig into a trailer with cookies and cereal.
The pig was taken to a farm on Mangum Road until it was claimed by its owner.
Trapping a little red squirrel that made a home in my shed. His downfall was the black walnuts that he stored in my snowmobile cover. He'll find a new home at Battlecreek park.
We've got three grey squirrels that empty out our bird feeders in record time. One of them is fat - the "Skipper" of the bunch. I think he's the main perp that's doing most of the dirty work, but it's hard to prove.
If I trap the three squirrels, and paint their tails hot pink, orange and green, does anyone think the neighbors will mind?
We had an actual hawk land on a branch last night at dusk near the feeders. Nothing scares away the critters like a real live bird of prey. I'd like to see more of him. Course he scares away the song birds too....
it's now 95 out.. I just went and picked up lunch. A basket of strawberries, a box of salad (with oil free dressing) and a diet energy drink
oh and a Owater.. healthy hydration www.owater.com the strawberry is actually pretty good. I don't know what is up with me and strawberries lately - I'm actually not a fan. but they seem to do well on my diet.
I am on a hot run!!!!!
listening to your wins,,, Im tempted to come watch you play when I have a chance.
going to run 5 miles tonight - in hopes of kickstarting my metabolism again.
I guess the Latin hottie in the vid is an artist and actress and is married to the richest guy in Mexico. I wonder if it's that telecom tycoon?

Laughing - no - SNORTING - out loud at that one, me2 - thanks for a good laugh!
Example:
I'm leaving work now. I have to put my time card into the clock thingy before I leave. Then I stick my keys into the ignition thingy and drive home.
It's hopeless! If I remove the adverb before it, it gets worse...
I have to put my time card into the thingy before I leave. Then I stick my keys into the thingy and drive home.
Have fun playing with that thingy word!

Get that expanding foam spray and plug up EVERYTHING after you get them out.
Good idea! Thanks!!
