I actually think it'd be neat to check out that Star Island place, up in Cass Lake... its supposedly the spot of the last known wendigo ceremony, in the u.s.
I AM THE SPIRIT OF WINDIGO. Human who insisted on venturing alone into the wilderness should fear the Spirit of the Lonely Places, As you travel in lonely places, I am always behind your back. As you tramp through bush or forest, hills or desert, with no other company but your thoughts, you become slowly aware that I am following you. No matter how quickly you may turn, I move faster. You see nothing except perhaps the slightest movement of shadow.
I sometime acts as a protector because a powerful medicine woman or man has intervened and caused me to swoop down down to attack evil-doers; legend states I drag and force evil-does to run until his feet catches fire. At that point, he is either taken up into the sky or keeps running until he dies; in either case, he is never seen or heard from again thanks to spirit doctor intervention."
As a member of the canine community, this paranoia about such wild dogs is unnecessary and unfounded.
Storytime:
We had Merlin outside when he was just a pup at dusk once. He spotted two teenage girls at the end of the block and took off after them - more curious than territorial.
The girls saw his mini 10-lb doxy frame jogging after them in the streetlight. They dropped EVERYTHING, screamed and ran. This red furry puppy, smaller than most house cats stopped dead in his tracks and ran back home.
I walked to the end of the block almost in tears from laughing. There was a trail from the center of the street to a house about fifty feet away - a cell phone, a sandal, a purse, another sandal, an untied shoe, a wallet, you name it. A perfect trail of bedcrumbs left behind by two teenage girls freaked out of their minds.
I was walking him about three days later when one of the girls was out on their patio talking on a cell phone - talking about some wild dog that almost ate them a few days ago.
The only thing to fear is fear itself. And, apparently, cute little furry puppies. :ooh:
Power Fishing up North on an isolated lake. Twenty miles from the nearest paved road.
I have Cousin-In-Laws that have a small set of cabins basically by themselves on a rather large fishing lake near Cass and Lake Winny. If it wasn't for the fact most of the people there are relatives (incl. Mom & Dad), I'd probably like to test that redneck saying "You're too drunk to fish!"
Now you can't become close with anyone born on August 14 because if you do you'll have to use 08 and 14 with your other 4 birthday related numbers and we all know the exact same numbers can't win again.
mutant dogs....the wendigo of the northwoods
I guess as a scout and all the stories i learned/heard/told I became a honest believer in BigFoot, Wendigo's, and a few other things

Im really into that type of stuff...

I wouldnt hesitate if some other people seriously wanted to check stuff out, like that....
just had way too much stuff happen, along those lines to disregard it when it comes up, or treat it as "coincedence"...
