That kid can keep running fo ever!!!! god I was about to ring his neck afew times!!!

It was a blast... in the future I think it would be worth it to stop at the beginning and plan a route, rather than running like hell to the closest spot. The challenges were really fun. I have to run to the Twins game, I'll post more about the challenges when I get back.

Well, maybe they'll do another one in the future? Might I suggest St. Paul though? Heh.

Did anyone take pictures?

We got a few pictures at the start, but there wasn't really time during the race to take any.

Challenges:

1. Roll an oblong bocce ball into a hula hoop. Each of us got one shot, if we both missed we would have had to do a penalty challenge.

2. Three legged obstacle course. We had to navigate through a maze of wires about 1 1/2 feet off the ground, if either of us touched the wires we had to start over.

3. We had to go about 20 feet using a 4 or 5 foot long board and 4 cylinders of pvc piping without touching the ground. There was a pole with a rope attached that we had to pull ourselves to.

4. At Gameworks: They gave us a card with 75 points on it and we had to earn 20 tickets.

5: Hard rock cafe: We had to count the number of guitars with autographs.

6: IDS Center, 50th floor: They showed us a picture of a table with 6 place settings, and we had 3 minutes to set the table. Each setting had 3 forks, 2 knives, 2 plates, glass, coffee cup, and folded napkin. This was by far the hardest challenge.

7. Williams Arena, U of M: They gave us a list of seat numbers, and each seat on the list had a letter taped to it. We had to unscramble the letters to figure out where to go next. I ran around getting the letters, and Iceman solved the puzzle in about 15 seconds.

8. Field House, U of M. We each had to ride a lap around the track on a big wheel tricycle thing w/o falling off. Then had to put together a jigsaw puzzle blindfolded while Iceman gave me directions. I wasn't allowed to say anything.

I was taught that the first utensil you use goes on the outside. So salad fork on the outside, dinner fork next to plate. Butter knife outside, regular knife next to plate. Soup spoon on the outside, teaspoon next to plate. It's a good rule of thumb to know I think. But I understand they serve the entree before the salad in Europe, so wonder if they change up the order then?

It was a vary spesifc way that they wanted it Set!! I dont know how they figerd it out!! but they did!!

It does sound like a tough one because there are so many variables. Sometimes you see a desert fork above the plate so I guess you had to know just what they wanted.

Sounds like some fun challenges though. I bet it was fun.

You guys did great!

how many challenges were there total?

and if others came in before you but didn't finish as many challenges doesnt that place them behind you?

Do you know how fast the first couple of teams came in at?
Mon, 06/02/2008 - 8:22 AM Permalink
barefootguy

There were 10 challenges total with one penalty for a possible 11 challenges. The teams that missed a challenge were ranked below all the teams that finished them all. The 1st place team finished in like 2 1/2 hours, which was about 20 minutes ahead of the 2nd place team. I think 30th was like 3:50. We finished in about 4 1/2 hours.
