We're busy for most of the day helping out with my Nephew's grad party. My Sister-In-Law may be the biological Mom, but she is absolutely pathetic at child raising.
She raised 3 boys on welfare, got kicked off and got a decent job working 2nd shift - that was 15 years ago. She's never done anything to better herself or raise the kids since. She's not home afternoons and evenings (by choice) to discipline the kids, and one son dropped out, another barely made it, and this last one only made it because the rest of our extended family intervened and 'made' him graduate. They are all grossly overweight from bad eating habits, and have no hobbies aside from video game playing.
The older two (23 and 25)are still sponging off Mom at home, and this last boy everyone is hoping against hope will have enough sense to move out and further his education. This grad party is as much for the rest of the in-laws as it is for the kid.
You know, I wasn't going to post a lot about my wedding but I did want to say one thing: I invited a bunch (not all, sorry - if you're bummed ask yourself if Red really had control of the guest list) of Coolers to the wedding. There were also several people there who have a TON of bucks (in the 8 figure range).
me and Mrs. Bear opened gifts yesterday. I got really nice, thoughtful gifts from all the coolers.
And all of the people who I KNOW have a ton of dough: Not even a card.
Moral of the story: Money doesn't buy you friends. But the coolers: greatest bunch of friends a guy could have.
--Plus it was nice as I got exhausted to "mingle" at the cooler table so I could sit down.
It was a nice reception Bear. You and Susan were beautiful. Congratulations again! Good job Lilman and Riko on on the tunes.
Wish I could have made the wedding. Glad you liked your gift. We had a great time partying until the sun came up and relaxing through most of the next day. Those sleep number beds kicked ass!
yes. I did it last year too for my carwash - and last time I did wear a bikini. This time I wore a mini skirt, and tank top and heels. (actually had to change b4 going to work, cause my skirt was so short i couldn't sit in it)
We made $1100 again at the wash (yay!) We also did an art show for our friend who was killed in a car wrecks kids benevolant fund on Saturday and raised a ton of money (She was an artist, and this is the weekend of her Bday) it was way fun.
Yesterday I went to marine world! and saw dolphins, whales and tigers Oh my!
I know the one your talking about for the county and think you should hold out for a different position. You'd be locked if you took that one even though there's job security.
As a groom, you now have been given a temporary position of some stature. This will probably only last until the next birthday party, but in the meantime people respect you enough to ask for stupid favors.
I have a friend who had his wedding ceremony in their backyard. Their friends camped out in tents and they rented a porta-potty for those 'roughing' it.
You know what he ended up doing on his wedding night? Donning elbow-length rubber gloves and digging through porta-potty shit to find someone's dropped glasses.
For their 20th anniversary, we gave them a card, an old pair of glasses, some elbow-length gloves, and a gallon of bleach.
