This is the second time that's happened. First time was 49 days after Frodo died (and Reba died five months earlier). I've heard it said they come and find you - watch for them - they will let you know they are OK.

Head gasket is leaking on the dogfurmobile. Parts should be in tomorrow, car should be fixed by tomorrow night. If no parts, then I will see if I can set something up for repair in the cities on Monday unless they advise me not to drive it that far. If parts come in late, the shop here will fix it Saturday. I suppose there is a chance they would be giving me a loaner car - I will have to check into that if they can't get it fixed. They did already offer me a loaner if they have to keep it overnight Friday.

Driving down later on Saturday, or even leaving early on Sunday is not a problem. Weather forecasts are looking good for both days.

It's under warranty, so that part is good anyway. And the other good thing is that I smelled coolant and took it in.

The part came in for my car. It will be done tomorrow morning, or at least by 1PM tomorrow. Weather and my writing productivity will determine if I come down tomorrow or leave very early Sunday AM.

I had a Frasier re-run on this morning while I was putzing around packing for the trip. That got over and Golden Girls started without my really noticing. Then I heard the following line - cracked me up:

Sophia [Rose fixed a dinner]: Cabbage she serves me! In ten minutes I could be sky writing!

The car is done!!! Now, to find a ride out there to pick it up...they don't have a shuttle service today.

But its been snowing all morning. I will wait, and drive down tomorrow.

Leaving early though - should be in at Mags and Cat's around 3PM.

I'm home...got home last night.

I looked at houses and townhomes in Eagan last Friday and found a few I can picture myself living in.

The bathroom cabinets and sink are in, will be delivered Friday. That's also the day I'll meet with the realtor here.

So...things are moving along.

Sure was nice to see so many of you at Carbone's last week!

Not sure when the next MN trip will be. My business travel for April is on hold right now.

My realtor was here today. She will call me with numbers next week.

She recommends waiting until the snow is gone, to list the house, as people will want to walk the property/woods.

She was thinking mid-May, but as we looked at how fast we are losing ground-cover, we are hoping for late April.

She liked all the changes I've made, and there is not much else that needs to be done, other than cleaning and some more decluttering, once the bathroom is back together (which should be in the next week or so).

Thank you! I'd forgotten how, but had bookmarked mikey's post with instructions. If I don't do something all the time, I don't remember how. Some things are NOT like riding a bike, apparently.

I was trying to make that image appear in a post on another forum (not in Able Minds) but I can't seem to manage that in that forum. Best I could do was get the link to post. That forum even has a link to click on to add an image, but it didn't work there. :sheepish:

I've been looking online for a match!!!

Looking for a best friend, for companionship, long walks, car rides, evenings by the fireplace, and snuggling all night.

But its not what you think.

I can't stop myself from looking at the local humane society adoption listings and the petfinder-type websites!

Soon it will be six months since my best dog-buddy died. It seems like a lot longer than that. At first, I swore I would never have another dog while I live alone. But I realize that the last two years that I had dogs, they were old and their health was failing, which I'm sure had me all worn out.

I'm trying to hold off on getting a dog until I get moved, and then choose a dog based on the kind of environment I am able to offer.

Now if I can just get the images of little Wallaby, Journey, Karma, Suds, Mel and Ducky out of my mind!!!

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'

The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Thanks, me2. I am anxious to get this move behind me.

I talked to the neighbors this morning. What a bunch of killjoys.

All they could talk about was how much the housing market sucks (not according to my realtor) and how the people up the street took their house off the market after two years of trying to sell it (not a comparable property to mine at all). I had to excuse myself and leave. I do not need to listen to negativity. Realism, I get that. But the sarcastic "good luck" wishes I've gotten from the neighbors is just in poor form.

I said, "If I don't try to sell it, it won't sell, for sure". I don't have a crystal ball. And it only takes the one right looker to become a buyer.

Thanks for that post, me2. That is encouraging.

The realtor for my camp property called yesterday - they got my paperwork, but no keys yet - I was trying to connect with the renter or caretaker to get keys turned over. Meanwhile, they have someone who wants to look!! So, last evening, as far as I know, the keys got to where they need to be.

No lookers at the house yet. I am going to not be concerned about that - I know my realtor will bring qualified buyers through as she gets them. I'd rather have one qualified interested looker than a bunch of people who are not serious.

Meanwhile, Marquette was listed as one of the top ten cities to be in a gas crunch. The short average commute is the main reason, however my son commented that is probably because most people don't have jobs! LOL.

I went to the co-op today to buy maple syrup for Swedish pancakes. Drummer and Jen are still here visiting, and as far as I'm concerned I hope they stay as long as they can. They have to be back in Grand Forks by around August 5.

Anyway, there are two job listings at the food co-op - one for a part-time education coordinator and one for a full-time cashier. I was thinking either of those might be fun jobs for me while I wait out the move and/or garner some more consulting gigs.

My neighbors are still saying the house won't sell, but I am not listening to them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. My realtor says the market is not bad here, and I'd rather listen to her than my fuddy-duddy neighbors who mostly just like to grouse about things.

Tell your neighbors you've got a family from North Minneapolis interested in the house. They have five boys and a pit bull.

Eags - no doubt your place will sell. I know you spent a good long time getting things just right. It just takes the one right buyer.

Sounds like your fuddy duddy neighbors will miss you and your tantalizing fodder.
