I think the TDF is kind of like televised NASCAR or televised Hockey - it's...ok, on TV, but you don't have any appreciation as to what's really happening unless you see it in person and see the bikers fly by at 40 mph.

part of the reason I watch it...they are nuts...

I know I wouldn't want to wipe out at 45mph in my shorts.

Being how involved I am with planning different festivals - I have become very critical when I visit different ones..... We just got back from the Canadian Days in Little Canada.. lots to be desired with setup , what is offered, and information in general... But

    Their fireworks was freakin' AWESOME!

They had them in the ball fields behind the school - we sat behind home plate of one ball field and they shot them off along the 2 & 3rd base line of the opposite field - talk about being up close and personal... and to top it off they had these huge speakers that were timed with the firework show... I'm going to have to find out what company that was and how much they paid...... it was so AWESOME!

    A kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing...

Someone my wife's old friends said they were going out to the Washington County Fair. We went there, ate a lot of unhealthy food, and saw the Rockin' Hollywoods close down the joint a few minutes ago.

Apparently the Hollywoods haven't been out at the Fair in Lake Elmo in over 30 years. LOTS of young kids out there - even at closing time.

the ultimate get drunk with your friends/camping/tubing on the apple rivler, experience:

    Nick-A-Palooza 4

thats right.... we're doing it again...

low attendace figures, wont keep us down.... we just count the people who arent really there with our small, but rowdy group, and it makes us feel like bad asses.....

enjoy: vegas - leaving tomorrow! Can't wait.

not so much enjoy: trying to pack, to cover all bases - Diva, Comfort, and "mandatory 20-30 meeting attire" <- i.e. stupid 20-30 shirts)

also enjoy: not paying the $50/person to get into rehab at Hard Rock on Sunday, but figuring a 'smarter' way of doing it, and pulled some strings - to get 10 of us VIP in with a cabana.

not so much enjoy: trying to still fit into my sexy swimsuit by Sunday, after a week of drinking & I'm giving up on my new burburry bikini,, there is NO WAY, my butt is ever gonna get into that thing, and not look like a sausage casing.

I will be working on the 919 campus - in O'Shaughnessy where the foster care program is housed. I will be supervising 5 direct reports. One is in the building I will be officed in, two at the child care center down the hill and two at Bush Children's Center on Grotto.

My supervisor is in the new building on Lex. and Univ.

I start on the 20th - assuming my background check comes back okay.

    I give my notice tomorrow.

I will be making about $1000 more a month than I'm making now.

It will be challenging, but supervising 5 people off site will be easier than when I was supervising about 25 people in 4 places and a group of 10 volunteers.

    I can hardly wait!
