Last night, Matt "The Predator" Vanda vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was signed - for November 1st. The fight will be a part of a Top Rank card at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

lookin forward to that.... the last one bout was damn good... went to the wire, and Vanda lost by desicion... was damn close though... the audience was booing, because they thought he shoulda won...

My commentary -

I turned on the game, realized the Vikings weren't a hockey team, changed the channel.

Actually I did watch the end - was very painful for someone who dislikes football - and actually got excited sorta when I devised a plan for them to catch up. All they needed was a touchdown and they'd have been good,... They must not have heard me.

Top Rank will make its Nov. 1 pay-per-view show from Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay official at a news conference Monday in Los Angeles, but Bob Arum outlined the card for ESPN.com.

It will be headlined by a rematch between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Matt Vanda, who fought a pitched battle in July, which Chavez eked out by split decision.

Flyweight titlist Nonito Donaire will face mandatory challenger Moruti Mthalane of South Africa in the co-feature.

There will be three other televised bouts, including appearances by Jorge Arce, who will defend the interim junior bantamweight belt he won Monday, and rising junior welterweight Lamont Peterson.

In the TV opener, 2008 Russian Olympian Matvey Korobov will make his pro debut.

As long as he wins Friday night and comes out clean, Arum said junior middleweight prospect Vanes Martirosyan will also be on the card with highlights being shown.

Chicago won a coin flip that was held earlier this month to decide who would host the one-game tiebreaker. It appears to be a huge break for the White Sox, considering that they were just 1-8 at the Metrodome this season.




It's been even worse at U.S. Cellular Field, where the Twins are just 2-7 in 2008.




While Blackburn will be coming off five days' rest, White Sox starter John Danks will be on three days' rest. Danks, who is 1-1 with a 7.91 ERA in four starts against Minnesota this season, said it's the first time in his career that he can ever remember coming back on short rest.

There are a lot of factors going into Tuesday's game for Minnesota, but one thing is clear: Win and the Twins extend their season into October. Otherwise, it will be a quick trip home for the start of the offseason
