Here's my prediction for the presidential election as of today:

election prediction 9/21

And my prediction for the Senate: (light blue = dem hold, light red = gop hold, dark blue = dem gain, dark red = gop gain, gray = no race) (ignore the numbers, they're for the presidential race and I didn't feel like photoshopping them out)

They don't get to vote in the general election, only in the primary.

One of the best musical tunes ever.

America lyrics

ANITA

Puerto Rico

My heart's devotion

Let it sink back in the ocean

Always the hurricanes blowing

Always the population growing

And the money owing

And the sunlight streaming

And the natives steaming

I like the island Manhattan

Smoke on your pipe

And put that in!

GIRLS

I like to be in America

Okay by me in America

Everything free in America

BERNARDO

For a small fee in America

ANITA

Buying on credit is so nice

BERNARDO

One look at us and they charge twice

ROSALIA

I'll have my own washing machine

INDIO

What will you have though to keep clean?

ANITA

Skyscrapers bloom in America

ROSALIA

Cadillacs zoom in America

TERESITA

Industry boom in America

BOYS

Twelve in a room in America

ANITA

Lots of new housing with more space

BERNARDO

Lots of doors slaming in our face

ANITA

I'll get a terrace apartment

BERNARDO

Better get rid of your accent

ANITA

Life can be bright in America

BOYS

If you can fight in America

GIRLS

Life is all right in America

BOYS

If you're all white in America

GIRLS

Here you are free and you have pride

BOYS

Long as you stay on your own side

GIRLS

Free to be anything you choose

BOYS

Free to wait tables and shine shoes

BERNARDO

Everywhere grime in America

Organized crime in America

Terrible time in America

ANITA

You forget I'm in America

BERNARDO

I think I'll go back to San Juan

ANITA

I know what boat you can get on

BERNARDO

Everyone there will give big cheer!

ANITA

Everyone there will have moved here

These are closer to what we'd have seen in our region, and these are just as damning...

Clinton years - $1.10 starting 1992 and ending $1.32 in early 2000

Bush years - $1.32 starting 2000 and ending $3.58 September 2008

We're DOWN to 3.69. We've been gouged ever since the prices went up, gas is always 50 cents a gallon higher here than in the twin cities, where it used to be 10 cents a gallon lower. I wrote to the governor last night about it. I hope they can prove price-gouging - I have all my receipts and I want my money back!

Gas in Phoenix for the rental car was ridiculous - the prices vary from block to block I swear.

Drove by 3 places at $3.39 - stopped and filled at $3.37. Within six miles after that I saw $3.35, $3.31 and $3.29. Are the prices jumping like the stock market or what?

Nice, fueled up last night at the station across the street from work for $2.99. Usually the Casey's around the corner is cheaper, but it was at $3.05, so back I went, just nice to be able to say I got fuel for under 3-bucks...

That still leaves you with 1% of the total vote count. Pretty good for word-of-mouth. I'd say, with 27 days left, maybe you should invest in a megaphone.

Or an attractive running mate. With brains. Something that has never been done before.

where were you buying gas? i think we paid more than 3 bucks a gallon maybe twice last summer (thanks to a lot of lucky timing and paying attention to the price of a barrel of crude)
