It really started my very long day off in the right step!
I have an opportunity to teach a class in St. Paul in January, and I get to choose the date, as long as it is one of the three Thursdays in the last half of January.
I want to be sure I will also be there at the appropriate time for the hunt.
Thanks for any official info anyone can give me.
I'm not gonna pick it up this year, though.
jk
Thanks Kat
are there 3 in a 1/2 month - I guess it can happen if the day falls near the very end of the month.
Just look at Jesse sigh or coolercrew.com for the Winter Canival Dates
geeesh...went to look at jesses sight and spent the last hour on classmates.com - weird seeing some old faces.
I have my countdown clock set for the hunt starting on January 18th, but have not gotten confirmation from the PP yet. They are finalizing their plans right now and will get back to me when the hunts dates are set. If it starts on the 18th, it will be the earliest date that the hunt has EVER started.
The Winter Carnival dates are set for January 22nd to February 1st. So, if the PP is going to stick with a 12 clue, one clue a day hunt, I can't imagine that they wouldn't start on the 18th so that the hunt ends during Winter Carnival week.
Who knows, maybe they'll change up the hunt a little this year.
20 clue hunt
since your the C.W. :pbpt:
I posted once on a board about someone saying that it was the middle of February, when it was actually February 29th. I heard from many people that it is just a figure of speech, and that "the middle of" could just mean in the midst of February.
So, while the 15th is near the exact middle of January, it is not in the latter half, but I was close!
They wer on McKnight close to lower afton by battlecreek park
they were chasing me, again... :eyeroll:
:goofy:
"Which do you prefer pulling up behind you - Red flashing lights, or Blue flashing lights?"
Um, is there another color - like none?

The 2009 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt, presented by Cub Foods, will begin with publication of the first clue on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The hunt, a St. Paul tradition since 1952, challenges readers to solve daily clues and be the first to find a medallion hidden on public land in Ramsey County.
This year's winner could win up to $10,000, plus $1,200 in groceries from Cub Foods.
A new Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt clue will be published daily through Thursday, Jan. 29, unless the medallion is found before that date. Newspapers with the next day's clue will be available beginning at about 11:30 p.m. each night in the lobby of the Pioneer Press' downtown headquarters at 345 Cedar St. in St. Paul. TwinCities.com will host the official Treasure Hunt Web site. Clues will be posted online by midnight each day of the hunt.
thanks RR
As I've been going through my winter apparel, I'm packing a small suitcase-on-wheels with all my medallion hunting gear.
I am teaching a workshop in the twin cities on Thursday, January 22. If I am still self-employed by then, I will drive down the day before the pre-dig gig, and plan to be in town for the entire hunt this year!!
Whoohoo!!!
I just found my winter coat the other day...now to find a good pair of slippers
I'm pretty geared up after last years freezing 40 below temps.
cept for a cellphone!!! and lantern and flashlight that works in that cold of temps.
Will post details when I get 'em finalized
my friend Hassan, who owns part of the place and hooked us up the last couple of years now, has moved out of state and I didn't get around to talking with him to save the date for us. You're just too quick.
I don't think the woman you talked to is the same one I set it up with last year.
Eags coming for the hunt! - check
Kat making reservations for the pre-dig - check
Winter gear gathering - check
Must be coming up to hunt time!
