It's such a good day that Im wondering when the other shoe is gonna drop. I came in to work with birthday signs everywhere, bubble wrap on my chair, my cube stuff switched with Terri's cube stuff (family pics and personal stuff) and my Vikes blanket being held for ransom and 40 people calling consecutively because someone sent a mass e-mail out! I'm pooped already and I need to get some work done.
I'm playing poker with some friends tomorrow night at a house in Minneapolis, decent bunch of fellows. We could use a 6th player. quarter/sawbuck/buck chips, bad loss night is 40-60 bucks, most people come out about even. Usual, Beer, Buds, Bull*hit - anybody interested let me know. Good bunch of guys.
I'm interested in buying an old laptop for the sole purpose of playing Freecell.
My 96-year-old aunt has a clunky old tower, monitor, etc. that is so old it can no longer support free e-mail or any browser.
But she loves to play Freecell on it, and although it takes up a huge amount of room in her tiny apartment, she says it is worth it if she can continue to play Freecell.
She can't manipulate the hand-held games and the screen is too small.
The new mini laptops would be perfect but too pricey right now, even with family going together.
If anyone is looking to get a few bucks out of an old laptop, the lighter the better, let me know, please.
P.S. Mucky, you're not invited. I've played bar poker with you before, and there's no way I can afford to play with someone as good as you for real money.
Here's a treasure hunt - reward: finding a lost dog who was en route to a new owner when he got away in Afton, MN. Last seen in Hudson WI.
His name is Hawkeye and he is on medication for an epileptic condition, so the sooner he is found, the better. Plus, it is cold out there!!
If you are so inclined, and are in the area, it would be wonderful if you could keep an eye out for him. There are more details about the recent sightings on the links below.
From the Animal Cases website:
Sunday:
He was seen by a man on Cty Rd 18. He called Debbie. She has his info.
Sunday or Monday
He was seen on Stage Coach Road just north of Afton on Sunday or Monday, I think. I will double check with Erin. She got th ecall on that one.
Stage Coach runs into 94. it is also off of St Croix Trail which runs into 94. cty rd 18 also runs with St Croix Trail to I-94.
Wednesday Dec 3, 2008
He was seen early in the day, mid morning, at Taco Bell on the south side of I94.
Then he was seen a little later, by fedex driver. He watched him run across I-94 to the north, jump the meridian fence and run behind the KFC. This is north of I-94.
A couple seen him a couple of times around the industrial area on Carmichael early afternoon, they tried to catch him but he ran.
Nettie3's husband seen him also early afternoon on the cty rd, vine street, by the high school.
The searcher (a lone female) decided not to go down the path due to darkness. I'm guessing (4:25PM CT) it is not dark out, but rather a dark woodsy area.
Sounds like they are suggesting she get a peace officer to escort her for her safety.
I hope the poor doggie doesn't have to spend another night outdoors and without his meds.
I know they are in contact with a very helpful person from local Animal Control and there is also a veterinarian's office right there that is going to leave food out for the dog tonight. They are also considering putting out a live trap, with the assurance that people would be checking it often, as they don't usually like to use them when it is this cold out. I assume from all that, that the police are also informed.
silent auction update for the prostate cancer benefit monday night:
gift certs to pf chang's, cheesecake factory, maggiano's, cali pizza kitchen, houlihan's, champp's, a family membership to underwater world, 4 pack of wristbands to nick universe.
for the sports nuts, tc's rounded up an autographed bouchard wild jersey, a team-autographed stick, a vikes jacket autographed by a "prominent player" (hopefully not tjack, or one of the williams'), and jim marshall if the winner wants it.

Funny only to Nick, probably: Chuck Norris can see John Cena.
I wish he'd take that title off of Cena too...
I'm a happy girl!
Thank you

Behind the YMCA on a walking path near a (middle) school in Hudson.
One of the searchers is there now, with a ham - hoping that will lure him out, as he is probably hungry!
Will keep you posted!!

and tons of other items.
Thought is - he will try to get back to Brainerd.
Anyone out and about, please keep your eyes open in case he treks through your neck of the woods!
And if you see him, make note of exactly where and when.
We will be plotting map coordinates of sightings to try to get a sense of the path he's traveling.
Thanks so much!
If anyone would like to stop in and get your Carnival Buttons I will have them with me!! or just to have a drink with me.....
