Actually tim, fort snelling was a major port of deployment. Not the historic fort, but the one by the airport--major point of entry into the service for WWII veterans from all around the midwest--this is appropo of nothing, but I am on the Citizens committee.....
Tim - it looked like someones personal memorial to someone. I wanted to be respectful. I checked it out, theres no way the med could have been inside the wax.
I am still w/ the Capitol Mall - I was thinking that on Clue 1. Also I was thinking Ft. Snelling. Dual means 2, Duel means - competition, contest, engagement, rivalry, combat, strife, encounter.
This is where Ft. Snelling comes in Mpls & St. Paul rivalry and Ft. Snelling is in both, right? I know it is in Ramsey & Dakota Cty's.
If it's a different clue writer, I'm sure he/she wouldn't think about trying to avoid the previous pointers from past hunts. Come on, last year's clues sucked so bad, I don't think they're that detail oriented.

Clue #2
There's no need to destroy as you deploy
For the hunt in our wonderful town.
Golf courses and statues you must not annoy
And please steer clear of all private ground
they used to shoot a cannon when it was found. thanks, steve
They shot a cannon off the roof--hey wait till you read "marmaduke" tomorow--that silly dog....
THANSKS FOR THE CLUE
Marmaduke, I love that dog!

thanks, steve for letting me steal this from your guide:
bombs away!
cannon blasts from the top of the press/dispatch used to alert the hunters that the treasure had been found. this practice has been abandoned.
so, raft, once upon a time it seems they did this. i'd like to see 'em do it again.

NOW, NOW, NOW Green. I bet you got the right paper at least?
Take long deep breathes.
"Tougher Duel" - Could mean the political debates that are happening in the Capitol between the House, Senate and Governor.
Duel means two--
I am still w/ the Capitol Mall - I was thinking that on Clue 1. Also I was thinking Ft. Snelling. Dual means 2, Duel means - competition, contest, engagement, rivalry, combat, strife, encounter.

I got The Clue here, thanks to DDave and Allison.
Joe!
Notice the use of the word "wonderful" in line 2 :)
No, Dual, means two. But it could be a play on words?
Of course duel is between TWO people????
THX, thank you. I said that earlier. Or could mean twice.
Steer in line four has me going
Hey AW, what about "wonderful"
dual = swords right?
that torpedo memorial in Como is dedicated to those aboard the SS. Swordfish
Very interesting...
allison i was thinking about that word also.......wonderful
Green, I could be repeating what others have said. I skipped about 500 posts today.
:-)
Or something used for two different reasons/purposes.
duel--a formal fight between tow persons armed with deadly weapons Webster's new world--my point is that three parties cannot have a duel--
I know... *I* slog. LOL!
Ditto Green
would they use the torpedo as a pointer in 2 different hunts, thumbs?
what park has a steering wheel???
Battle creek is too easy,,,,isnt it?
Scribe wants to know if pirates used torpedo's?
wonderful town is sort of like a wonderland :)
Clues for same items but worded differently?
Allison, so what's so neat about "wonderful"?
Battle creek is too easy,,,,isnt it?
Where did the duel between Hamilton and Burr occur?
Oh! I see now! LOL!!!
Yes, that's nice. Now QUIT WRITING THE CLUES and get bock to Digging!
"wonderful town is sort of like a wonderland :)"
Come on Allison, fess up, you're the clue writer this year aren't you?
I think this pretty much proves it!
If it's a different clue writer, I'm sure he/she wouldn't think about trying to avoid the previous pointers from past hunts. Come on, last year's clues sucked so bad, I don't think they're that detail oriented.
allison, you've got to stop tipping your hand like that :)
New York state, I believe--checking.....
THere is an ARONa street over by Como for Aaron Burr.
