I can't stand Axel but his voice still reels me in.
This is like putting Gary Cherone in Van Halen. Great guy but, like oil and water.
when I picture GnR practicing, I just have this mental image of Axel yelling "NO! THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Do it more like Slash! MORE LIKE SLASH!!!!!!!!!"

Closer to now-
He ate Twinkies.

LOVE STINKS
J. Geils Band
You love her
But she loves him
And he loves somebody else
You just can't win
And so it goes
Till the day you die
This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry
I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks
One thing for sure
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
Two by two and side by side
Love's gonna find you yes it is
You just can't hide
You'll hear it call
Your heart will fall
Then love will fly
It's gonna soar
I don't care for any casanova thing
All I can say is
Love stinks
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
I've been through diamonds
I've been through minks
I've been through it all
Love stinks
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
I like some of the Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff, but how did they get listed in the "hard rock" section?
Same with Rush although I will grant that one on a technicality.
What happened with the Def Leppard vote? Photograph as a hard rock anthem? Don't hold a candle to "Foolin'" or even better "Rock of Ages".
I must not know what 'Hard Rock' is I guess...
Oh - and next time they should get a host who doesn't have a new album to pitch.
I'm done now.
--turning over soapbox--
Shout shout shout
Shout at the devil
He's the wolf screaming lonely in the night
He's the blood stain on the stage
He's the tear in your eye
Being tempted by his lies
He's the knife in your back
He's rage
He's the razor to the knife
Oh, lonely is our lives
My head's spinnin' round and round
But in the seasons of wither
We'll stand and deliver
Be strong and laugh and
[Chorus:]
Shout shout shout
Shout at the devil
Shout shout shout
He'll be the love in your eyes
He'll be the blood between your thighs
And then have you Crying for more
He'll put strength to the test
He'll put the thrill back in bed
Sure you've heard it all before
He'll be the risk in the kiss
Might be anger on your lips
Might run scared for the door
But in seasons of wither
We'll stand and deliver
Be strong and laugh and
Shout shout shout
Shout at the devil
Shout shout shout
Shout at the devil
He's the wolf screaming lonely in the night
He's the blood stain on the stage
He's the tear in your eye
Being tempted by his lies
He's the knife in your back
He's rage
He's the razor to the knife
Oh, lonely is our lives
My head's spinnin' round and round
But in the seasons of wither
We'll stand and deliver
Be strong and laugh and
Shout shout shout
Shout at the devil x6
Shout shout shout x5 (fades into background)
I won't say any more until you see it.
I was satisfied with #1.

Song: Shattered Turn The Car Around
In a way, I need a change
From this burnout scene
Another time, another town
Another everything
But it's always back to you
Stumble out, in the night
From the pouring rain
Made the block, sat and thought
There's more I need
It's always back to you
But I'm good without ya
Yeah, I'm good without you
Yeah, yeah, yeah
How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
Give me a break let me make my own pattern
All that it takes is some time but I'm shattered
I always turn the car around
I had no idea that the night
Would take so damn long
Took it out, on the street
While the rain still falls
Push me back to you
But I'm good without ya
Yeah, I'm good without you
Yeah, yeah, yeah
How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
Give me a break let me make my own pattern
All that it takes is some time but I'm shattered
I always turn the car around
Give it up, give it up, baby
Give it up, give it up, now
Now
How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
All that I feel is the realness I'm faking
Taking my time but it's time that I'm wasting
Always turn the car around
How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
Don't wanna turn that car around
I gotta turn this thing around
O.A.R.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O.A.R.
one of my favorite bands..and yep that is one hell of a sick song...is stuck in my head as well..
all there songs get stuck in my head.
Ran away to the top of the world today
don't know nothing, i don't know a thing but if i just keep on listening, together we'll sing
i've been walking for about a thousand years
and my feet are tired of crying all those painful tears
and my sight is going blind and my soul is way down low
but i haven't seen a thing, so that's all i can know
said cause i don't know nothing, i don't know a thing but if i just keep on listening, together we'll sing
i've been drinking to drown away my tears
and i'm sick of all the violence and i'm sick of all the fears
but i'm moving down the road, true i'm moving kind of slow
but i haven't heard a thing, so that's all i can know
said cause i don't know nothing, ya'll don't know a thing
but if we just keep on listening, together we'll sing
don't think that it's going that good today can't take my eyes off of the rain and everybody's running away
well i don't think that it's going that good today
can't take my eyes off of the rain
and everybody's running away ran away to the top of the world today
i've been crying and losing lots of sleep
cause the roads are getting longer
winter snows come kinda deep
but i still will move along
and i still can feel the sun
and i see or hear a thing
and i'll break into a run
said cause i don't know nothing, ya'll don't know a thing
but if we just keep on listening, together we'll sing
don't think that it's going that good today can't take my eyes off of the rain and everybody's going insane
well i don't think that it's going that good today can't take my eyes off of the rain everybody's running away ran away to the top of the world today ran away to the top of the world today ran away top of the world today
how i found out about them...
that was a crazy game of poker
Ohh myyyy
20 throw down in my best bridge
and the man to my left has folded down
well johnny doubled up with a royal flush had three jacks and a pair of nines my mind is turning - just two shots more
there's not much left to play
well then dude walks in, black hat on top
what am i, if i'm lucky
wasn't a county cop
cause i'm just runnin out of time
Who's up for game two
what to do
my wallet's gettin thin
and i just lost my watch last night
well i gotta problem
just one answer
gotta throw it all down
and kiss it goodbye
Yeah!
That was a crazy game of poker
(That was a crazy game of poker)
I lost it all
(I lost it all)
but someday i'll be back again
And I, never to fold.
(never to fold)
Who's up for game three can barely see the bourbon drowning next to me And i just lost it all
well there's a man sittin next to me
Red, was smiling
cause its funny don't have no money tonight yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh
That was a crazy game of poker
(That was a crazy game of poker)
I lost it all
(I lost it all)
but someday i'll be back again
And I, never to fold.
(never to fold)
Bop bop bop...
I say now skittleedat dat,
Well how bout that?
I'm coming out the front never coming out the back
And I walked into the bar yesterday
Cause I had something to do, something to say
And Johnny walked in right behind me and I didn't turn around
Til I heard the sound of his feet falling on the ground
I looked over my shoulder and I saw a clown
And I said what'cha doin' in the bar tonight.
So I said Johnny whatcha doing tonight?
He looked at me with a face full of fright
And I said, how bout a revolution?
And he said right.
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah jah jah
Jahova!
And I said, what'cha looking at?
He hit me across the face with a bat
I grabbed my .45 and I said let's get out and go
So he opened the door and said do what you're here for
I said I'm wandering round the road four to four
And I said I been walking for about a thousand years.
And my feet are growing tired
My eyes a little wired
Don't know what to do unless I retire
And he just said let's play some crazy poker
So I said Johnny whatcha doing tonight?
He looked at me with a face full of fright
And I said, how bout a revolution?
And he said right.
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say die
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say die dah dah
Day day oh!
I said that, was the craziest game of poker that I ever saw
I said that, was the craziest game of poker that I ever saw
But I'm not gonna quit and I'm not gonna stop
Don't give a shit cause I got the drop
Johnny just got two eyes just like mine
And I'm feeling kinda funky, kinda fine
And I drank a bottle of whiskey, 'fore I came
Came to the bar to see what's the same
I saw my man named Johnny sittin' across the table from me
And to my left was a man, he had no chin
Didn't really think about starting a scene
The man to my right wasn't feeling kinda nice
He looked kinda mad and I felt bad
Beacuse I took his money last night it's kinda funny
But now I'm just struggling--
I need a honey-bunny.
I don't know what to say anymore
So I'm just gonna go out, anywho...
So I said Johnny whatcha doing tonight?
He looked at me with a face full of fright
And I said, how bout a revolution?
And he said right.
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah
I say of, you say a
I say revolution, and you say jah jah jah jahova
javhova, is watching over me...
Day day oh!
Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl Lyrics
Jessie is a friend,
yeah, I know he's been
a good friend of mine
But lately something's changed
that ain't hard to define
Jessie's got himself a girl
and I want to make her mine
And she's watching him with those eyes
And she's lovin' him with that body,
I just know it
Yeah 'n' he's holding her
in his arms late,
late at night
You know, I wish that I had Jessie's girl,
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
Where can I find a woman like that
I play along with the charade,
there doesn't seem to be
a reason to change
You know, I feel so dirty
when they start talking cute
I wanna tell her that I love her,
but the point is probably moot
'Cos she's watching him with those eyes
And she's lovin' him with that body,
I just know it
And he's holding her
in his arms late, late at night
Like Jessie's girl,
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
Where can I find a woman,
where can I find a woman like that
And I'm lookin' in the mirror all the time,
wondering what she don't see in me
I've been funny,
I've been cool with the lines
Ain't that the way
love supposed to be
Tell me, where can I find a woman like that
[Solo]
You know, I wish that I had Jessie's girl,
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
I want Jessie's girl,
where can I find a woman like that, like
Jessie's girl,
I wish that I had Jessie's girl,
I want,
I want Jessie's girl
Brass Monkey Lyrics
Artist(Band):Beastie Boys
(chorus) Brass Monkey - that funky Monkey
Brass Monkey - junkie
That funky Monkey
Got this dance that's more than real
Drink Brass Monkey - here's how you feel
Put your left leg down - your right leg up
Tilt your head back - let's finish the cup
M.C.A. with the bottle - D. rocks the can
Adrock gets nice with Charlie Chan
We're offered Moet - we don't mind Chivas
Wherever we go with bring the Monkey with us
Adrock drinks three - Mike D. is D.
Double R. foots the bill most definitely
I drink Brass Monkey and I rock well
I got a Castle in Brooklyn - that's where I dwell
(repeat chorus)
Cause I drink it anytime - and anyplace
When it's time to get ill - I pour it on my face
Monkey tastes Def when you pour it on ice
Come on y'all it's time to get nice
Coolin' by the lockers getting kind of funky
Me and the crew - we're drinking Brass Monkey
This girl walked by - she gave me the eye
I reached in the locker - grabbed the Spanish Fly
I put it in the Monkey - mixed it in the cup
Went over to the girl, "Yo baby, what's up?"
I offered her a sip - the girl she gave me lip
It did begin the stuff wore in and now she's on my tip
(repeat chorus)
Step up to the bar - put the girl down
She takes a big gulp and slaps it around
Take a sip - you can do it - you get right to it
We had a case in the place and we went right through it
You got a dry Martini - thinking you're cool
I'll take your place at the bar - I smack you off your stool
I'll down a '40 dog" in a single gulp
And if you got beef you'll get beat to a pulp
Monkey and parties and reelin' and rockin'
Def, def - girls, girls - all y'all jockin'
The song and dance keeping you in a trance
If you don't buy my record I got my advance
I drink it - I think it - I see it - I be it
I love Brass Monkey but I won't give D. it
We got the bottle - you got the cup
Come on everybody let's get ffffff
Simon Carly - Jesse Lyrics
Oh Mama say a prayer for me
Jessie's back in town, it won't be easy
Don't let him near me, don't let him touch me
Don't let him seize me
Jessie, I won't cut fresh flowers for you
No Jessie, and I won't make the wine cold for you
No Jessie, I won't change the sheets for you
I won't put on cologne, I won't sit by the phone for you
Annie, keep reminding me that he cut out my heart
Like a paper doll
Sally, tell me once again how he set me up
Just to see me fall
Jessie, I won't cut fresh flowers for you
No Jessie, I won't make the wine cold for you
No Jessie, I won't change the sheets for you
I won't put on cologne, I won't sit by the phone for you
No, no, no
Jessie, quick come here, I won't tell a soul
(Not even myself)
Jessie, that you've come back to me, my friends will all say
(She's gone again)
How can anyone know what you are to me
That I'm in heaven again
Because you've come back to me
Ooooh
Jessie
Jessie, I'll always cut fresh flowers for you
And Jessie, I'll always make the wine cold for you
Oh Jessie, I can easily change my mind about you
And put on cologne and sit by the phone for you
Oh yeah
Jessie
Lets open the wine
And drink to the heart
Which has a will of it's own
My friends (My friends)
It's tough for them
They're feeling bad
They think I've sunk so low
Jessie, I'll always cut fresh flowers for you
And Jessie, I will make the wine cold for you
Oh Jessie, I will change the sheets for you
And put on cologne and I will wait by the phone for you
Oh, Jessie
(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la)
Oh Jessie
(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la)
Jessie, I will cut fresh flowers for you
And Jessie, yeah, make the wine cold for you
Oh Jessie, and I will change the sheets for you
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
by Gordon Lightfoot
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go it was bigger than most
With a crew and the Captain well seasoned.
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.
The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,
T'was the witch of November come stealing.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane West Wind
When supper time came the old cook came on deck
Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya
At 7PM a main hatchway caved in
He said fellas it's been good to know ya.
The Captain wired in he had water coming in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the words turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd fifteen more miles behind her.
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the ruins of her ice water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams,
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered.
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
BTW - I was a good boy this year. Santa got me a used copy (in excellent condition) of Pink Floyd's "Shine On" Box Set. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to all the CD's yet, but I've read most of the book already.
NO! wheres MY Med MAN!?
This box set came out in 1992 with EIGHT CDs - seven of Floyd's albums ("The Wall" is a 2 CD Album) and a bonus CD of old singles from Floyd's early days. It has a large picture book with lots of background stuff on the band. Very cool. The only thing missing is the Lava Lamp and crappy Ganja. Better than any box set Floyd has put out since.
I must have gotten the collectors edition since mine came with a huge lava lamp (one I can't find a powerful enough bulb for now) and excellent ganja)
But then again I got it the day it came out so maybe things have slipped since then
Damn It!
::kisses::
out of that song.
by Cat Stevens
Now I've been happy lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun
Oh I've been smiling lately,
dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be,
some day it's going to come
Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again
Now I've been smiling lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun
Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller
Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train
Get your bags together,
go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer,
it soon will be with you
Now come and join the living,
it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer,
soon it will all be true
Now I've been crying lately,
thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating,
why can't we live in bliss
Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again

Deep inside of me.
Girl you just don't realize
What you do to me.
When you hold me in your arms so tight,
You let me know everything's alright.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm...
Hooked on a feelin',
I'm high on believin'
That you're in love with meeeeeee.
Lips as sweet as candy,
The taste stays on my mind.
Girl, you got me thirsty
For another cup 'a wine!
I got it bad for you, girl,
But I don't need no cure.
I just stay addicted
And hope I can endure.
All the good love, when we're all alone.
Keep it up, girl, yeah you turn me on.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm...
Hooked on a feelin',
I'm high on believin'

Cat Stevens music is through out the entire movie.
This is one of my favorite movies.
Also Rob and I have some really odd but great unreleased remixes of Pink Floyd.
I'm still around. I'm just....
Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville
Nibblin' on sponge cake,
watchin' the sun bake;
All of those tourists covered with oil.
Strummin' my six string on my front porch swing.
Smell those shrimp
They're beginnin' to boil.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville,
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
But I know it's nobody's fault.
Don't know the reason,
Stayed here all season
With nothing to show but this brand new tattoo.
But it's a real beauty,
A Mexican cutie, how it got here
I haven't a clue.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville,
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
Now I think, - hell it could be my fault.
I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top,
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home.
But there's booze in the blender,
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that there's a woman to blame
And I know it's my own damn fault.
