gaborik likely out for the year.

this will probably set the franchise back 3-5 years minimum. you can't lose a superstar in his 20's for nothing. he's going to walk at the end of this year and I wouldn't be surprised if it was to division rival Vancouver.

if anyone sees him walking across a street please run him over.

Wild President/General Manager Doug Risebrough just wrapped up a brief conference call with local media, informing them that Wild RW Marian Gaborik is scheduled to have surgery on his left hip on Monday, Jan. 5. The surgery will address a deficiency in his hip that has caused chronic left groin pain. The surgeon has apprised the team that a return to play from this surgery is as soon as ten weeks, with the player able to begin skating after six weeks.

I can't be disgusted at the Wild. Even with the track record this year, it is still better on average than the Vikings, Timberwolves, Saints, Fighting Saints, North Stars, Kicks, Twins (minus 2 seasons ever were.

Disappointed for the past 12 games or so - most definitely. Disgusted? Nope.

Very true. It was one of those moments of temporary disgustedness (is that a word?) :grin:

Horrible situation though. It'll be interesting to see if they try to bring in any scoring at all to try to salvage the season.

Peterson needs to hold onto the ball (especially early on) and Jackson needs to take a sack and learn not to toss the ball up at the last second with three opposing jerseys surrounding it...

If Mark Sanchez (USC) decides to go pro, the Vikings should give Detroit whatever they want for the #1 draft pick, even if it means giving up a defensive player or 2. Sanchez would be a playmaker and more importantly a leader rgiht from the start.

From what I heard his son has been pretty much running the Twins as it was so he'll continue that role on a full basis, and I would assume his sons would take over any other business ventures as well seeing as how his wife passed away a while ago.

Vikes are in the 'suckage' zone for 1st round draft pick - something like 23 or 27 overall.

They could possibly get Sanchez there. Not a lot of teams are going to be targeting QBs.

Otherwise I'm sure trading up is an option.

Hopefully he and Bradford both come out early.
