Vinnie Mac gets mad at anything that tries to expose what goes on behind the curtain....
he tried to sue the guys that made Beyond The Mat.... claiming that some stuff in the documentary was going to make him lose money...
How he loses money, by us finding out that Jake The Snake is a crack addict, I dont know.... being that the guy hasnt even worked for him in like 20 years...
I also heard recently, that he was sue happy, when he caught wind of Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff's new "Celebrity Championship Wrestling" tv show...
Its funny though, cause he's pretty much the father of the "reality based" wrestling stuff....
as odd and stingy as he seems, sometimes... he's still one of my heroes...
You know IM if you don't enjoy posting here or other things that happen here you don't have to continue bragging that you only have a couple more day's to put up with "us" Just stop coming to the boards and posting and you don't have to put up with "us"
Reminder to those of you who joined Ableminds during a hunt (like me) and have renewals coming up... Save yourself a headache and PAY NOW!
BTW - We always leave the Xmas Wreath up until 4th of July at home - when is a good time to take down the Xmas tree? It's fake so there's little fire danger.
I'm not letting the wife read that post - giving her ideas can be dangerous. Besides, the tree takes up about 1/4 of our living room floor space (tiny room).
Happy New Year everyone! I am getting excited to start being sleep deprived and gassy from beer! It is hunt time!! I am so sleepy today and I think that I might be coming up with an "educational video" until I can get the cobwebs loose.
I was in a grumpy mood and the kids kept piling stuff under our tree (artificial) so the day after Christmas I made them help me take it down and put it awaythen clean up their mess under it. We usually don't take it down until New Years.
I finally undecorated my tree this weekend and now it's sitting in the living room waiting for a son to stop in and drag it behind the garage. I'm still watching TV through the branches.
I had something really freaky happen to me this past Friday.
The story begins in late June when my brother-in-law died. Their parish was building a new church so the funeral was held at the old church. This was in Utah. At the time my sister told me she was sorry the new church hadn't been finished and she mentioned the beautiful window behind the alter in the new one.
So shortly before Christmas I had a dream that I was at the brother-in-law's funeral again and it was in the new church and there was a beautiful window behind the altar. I told my sister about the dream and how the younger grandchildren were kind of romping around the altar. I also remembered that I was sitting behind Leo at the funeral. She has a grandson named Leo.
So my friend's mother died on the 29th of December and I went to the funeral on Friday. The casket was in the back of the church. I was standing looking at the altar and there was a beautiful window behind the altar and the grandkids were romping around the altar during the wake. It was like a deja vu moment when I was looking at that. It was just like in my dream. I mentioned it to my friend's daughter.
So we sat for the funeral Mass and when the family came in my friend's brother-in-law Leo sat in front of me. :O
Now, is that strange or what?? I had never been in this church before and haven't seen my sister's new church, but it was the same! I'm kind of freaked out.
Premonitions like that happen to me all the time. A lot of my dreams lately are just goofy and unreal, so I know they're not premonitions. Stuff like defying gravity and punching out aliens are usually just dreams. (I hope)
Just make sure you let us know EVERY DETAIL about that dream where you find the medallion...
I know it's freaky, but it is not abnormal, I have that happen from time to time.
Not sure if I had posted this or not before, (I think I have), but I was real close to my Great-Grandma. I used to read a lot of ghost stories and such, well the stuff that was written for kids in elementary and middle school anyway. So I asked her one day after reading a similar story if she would visit me after she died.
Speed ahead to 1988...
My mom and Grandma went to visit her in Hastings where she was in a nursing home. I wanted to go with but when we got there I couldn't go see her. I was afraid for some reason. They come back out a long while later and say she didn't eat anymore and she wanted to die. I prayed that night that if she wanted to die- let her and if she didn't let her get better. ( I was in 8th grade)
Later that night I am sleeping and wake up to this vision that I can only compare to the Anthrax 'State of Euphoria' album cover, except that instead of all of the faces around it only hers was in the middle.
It was accompanied only by a little "croak" similar to the end of the wind on a wind up toy.
I had no idea what it was or meant except that it scared the hell out of me. I did look at the clock though and while I no longer remember the exact time I know it was around 10:23 PM or so.
The next morning I find out that she had died somewhere between the 10pm and 11pm bed-check/rounds the nurses did.
I've heard that we KNOW everything - past and future - but that our conscious minds only tap into certain portions of that information.
This is thought to be due to various reasons - fear of knowing, being told our "knowing" isn't real thus we stop perceiving it, etc.
I think we can learn to tap into more of what we know, but it takes some discipline and persistence.
Those things that come to us - like knowing a loved one has died, or seeing a church scene before we've ever been in it, is, I think, our mind's way of preparing us for some knowledge or experience we will have. I also believe our loved ones may have a hand in our realizing these specific things.
Just one theory and no way to prove it, but it does make some sense.
I have had things like that happen to me over the years. The first time was when I was 8 years old. I think it is divine. For me it strengthens my belief in God, angels, and that there is another side that is good.
I am sending this email to you because you either live in New YOrk or know someone who does. I've got a BIG problem, and I really need some help.
As you know, I've got 10 month old twins, Charles and Catherine. Well, Charlie was rushed to the hospital via ambulance a couple of weeks ago. Why? Because he had an allergic reaction to a cat. His face swelled up so much that his little eyes were slits. He had a rash all over his neck, face and chest. They gave him Benadryl and Prednisone at the hospital, and he was back to normal within a few hours.
But, that isn't the problem. The problem is that Craig and I have three beautiful cats: Lenny, Squiggy and Pandora. We will not bring them to a shelter or drop them off to a vet. We want them to go to good homes... Which is why I am emailing all of you.
Here are the descriptions of the cats:
Lenny is a huge orange tabby that is eight years old. He is such a mush and my favorite cat. (I know it's horrible to have a favorite, but I do.) Craig found him and his brother, Squiggy, strung up in a tree by their necks by some hoodlums in a park in Islip. He got the kittens down and brought them to the vet. The vet took care of the cats - free of charge - and put them in one of the cages in the front of the office. After a week, no one took Lenny and Squiggy. So, Craig decided to bring the boys home. Lenny loves laying next to the heater and being brushed-- especially by this thing we have called the "Love Glove". He's a sweetie and I will miss him very, very much.
Squiggy is a big, completely black cat that is 8 years old and is incredibly affectionate. Craig found him and his brother, Lenny, strung up in a tree by their necks by some hoodlums in a park in Islip. He got the kittens down and brought them to the vet. The vet took care of the cats - free of charge - and put them in one of the cages in the front of the office. After a week, no one took Lenny and Squiggy. So, Craig decided to bring the boys home. Squiggy loves being rubbed and scratched. When he's really happy, he drools or sticks out his tongue. He is a very vocal cat, and some of his meows even sound like words... "Hello"... "I Love You...."Hungry". It's bizarre. He's a terrific cat that loves people. Oh, and something REALLY cool about Squigman is that he plays fetch. Seriously.
Pandora is a seven year old Russian Blue female. She is petite as she was the runt of her litter. Craig found Pandora with her brothers and sisters while he was on patrol. A truck in front of him threw a garbage bag out the window. Craig got out of the car while his partner went after the guy that tossed the bag out. Expecting to find drugs or the like in the bag, there was a family of newborn kittens instead. Craig and his landlord were able to nurse all of the kittens back to health and find homes for them all-- except Pandora. Craig's landlord kept one (Merlin), but no one wanted Pandora because she was so tiny. No one thought that she would make it. Well, Craig (being the softie that he is) took Panny in, even though he already had Lenny and Squiggy. Pandora is grey and white. She is still small, and is very soft. She would sleep on my belly while I was pregnant. Like Lenny and Squiggy, Pandora still has her claws. She is up-to-date on her shots and is an indoor cat. Just give her a basket, and she is perfectly happy.
All of the cats have all of their shots, all of their claws and are indoor cats. They use a litterbox, scratching posts, toys and so on. We will provide everything for all of the cats, whether you take just one or all three. If you want to see pics, please let me know. I have plenty, and would be happy to send you some!
If you or anyone you know would like to give Lenny, Squiggy or Pandora a home, please let me know as soon as you can.
first I was gonna say you should post pics in the pet thread...then I realized I wanted to see pics of the kid with the puffy face. poor kid. I want someone to take Theo already. sorry Bear. :frown:
Yes, I have missed you all. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things. I just slogged through a bunch of old posts and it just got me thinking about clues and getting my mind cranked up for this year's hunt. I am looking forward to reconnecting with many of you and meeting new people this year. Only 12 more days until it all starts. I was thinking that we should figure out a plan for the Victory Dance this year. I know I mentioned it to a couple people last year about getting a hotel room down there. Lilman got me into going a couple years ago and it is just a blast. Would be fun to have more of a cooler crew contingent there this year. Have a good day and I will talk to you all sooner than later.
I will ask her what name she wants, in the past I think I have used Brassmonkeyette but I will let her decide. Ive learned my lesson of making decisions for my wife! :pbpt:
What a great thing you are doing, Bear, by trying to help get the word out about these cats needing a home.
I am allergic to cats myself, and don't know anyone in New York, that I can think of at the moment, but I will spread the word to friends who may know of someone.
Wife's allergic here too. She's only good for about 6 hours at a cat house when she's medicated. Sorry I couldn't help. We have a family friend that just lost their old cat (they used to have two) but they bought two new kittens in less than a week!
I guess they couldn't deal with the loss all that well - either that or the girls nagged incessantly until they caved. Those two kids are good at that kind of thing. Scary.
He came up a while back, Iceman. I don't think anyone really knows who he is.
BFG- He has talked in various places on Facebook about being part of the cooler crew, knowing Jake, etc. He once said he was asked by the cooler crew to write the clues for a big mock hunt. He hasn't posted anything incredibly bad, he just lies a lot and nobody knows who he is.
Was at the Kate Contest tonight... I was really pulling for Barbara tonight (she came in 2nd last year) as she really brought it tonight - but the one they crowned had over half the room pulling for her (most past royalty)... she had a good voice but off stage came across as very prime and proper... hope she can morph into a Kate image fast as this year's family is a FUN group!!!
If anyone is looking for a fun time Friday night - the Sooty installation party is happening at the Little Venetian (old Sgt. Peppers on Hwy 120) - be there by 7:30 to see the action - Fun Vulcan time...
