Maybe dump 100 out in a big area like a baseball field...after the first four, you think "nah, I'm not going to bother.

Plus I think the premise is the same, it could be a mccain/palin sticker just as easily.

edit: damn cm beat me to it

Info that may or may not be useful in the future: William Hamm helped organize the first Carnival in 1886.

Clarification from my wife on the workhouse/jail thing.. she was pretty sure the workhouse was a little further away from BC than the jail was from Swede but it may be the other way around... still not a huge difference though.. was also thinking that they wouldn't have brought protesters to the workhouse, but the clue doesn't specify protesters, just "those in detention" so who knows.

The bulldog is the pp's mascot but it says pitbull.

Still could be.

My thinking leads to it's not a bulldog, it's not a pig, it's a Hamm!

There is an adult detention center at 425 Grove st, near Swede; not sure if someone mentioned it.

Another street by the detention center is Olive street.

Olive Grove is an Arbor.

May be a stretch, the detention center is still a ways from Swede, but nearby.

I'm willing to bite on the translation of the 4th clue as the hiding item, not so much a location. No Fear T-Shirt was not on my radar, but a campaign button certainly was. The button would stick out like a sore thumb, but if its wrapped in a white or off-white t-shirt it will be a LOT harder to find. Lipstick sounds like something that may be hidden WITH the Medallion to throw out one too many leads. Obviously the puck ain't gonna fit in a lipstick case.

Another lead shot down - "Hippychick" was a 1990 dance tune by a group called "Soho" - I cannot find anything Soho related on the east side of the river - anything that comes up in Google is on the Minneapolis Side - and a short street in Woodbury

The miracle on ice guy

I knew it! It's at Rice. Across from the statue by the River Centre entrance.

Even those in detention during our recent convention, Heard a politically hip chick

Is it a pig or pit bull, it was argued most fitful,

That looks more lovely in lipstick?

Seems to imply it is close enough to the Xcel for those in detention to hear.

I'm too lazy to read todays posts while I'm at work.

I have a question: Did there use to be a jail out where Phalen Park is now

and

a thought. Protestors were arrested on the Marian Street bridge. Rymes with a park Marream. (Spellin may be wrong)

This has been fun slogging through all the day's noodles. Made for a good ending to a weird day.

I have not hunted Kellogg - even when the dang medallion was hidden there in that White Castle Box. A group of us were sure it was down on Harriet Island that year and thought all those goofs "up there" were nuts.

The noodles about hamm, buttons, t-shirts and dogs have been entertaining and I think may hold some merit.

You might be onto something, CM. Rice Park was where all the action was during the RNC. Well, other than the Poor People's Park.

I definately like this idea because the joke was refering to her being a hockey mom verses a pit bull....Maybe a hockey rink at the park....

OR I do also like the idea of it being hidden IN something palin/McCain.

take this for what it's worth, from PP board..

"I looked online and there is a Bally's at Sun Ray. That would reference BC's north border (with "detention"marking east, "pig" west and "pitbull" the southern edge)."

I'm 98% convinced it's NOT at BC, which means it probably is at BC.

Is it just me or is it really quiet in here this year? Seems to me in recent years when I've left for over 8 hours I normally came back to more than like 122 new posts in this folder...are we losing people or are people just keeping stuff to themselves more now?
Wed, 01/21/2009 - 3:34 PM Permalink

Well, I can tell ya there's not much I've kept to myself... but yeah doesn't seem as active as last year (first year I was postin on here) so who knows?

Just came back and went through 133 posts since noon.

Digging in BC and SH. Not many people out.

Ran into Posen and BFG.

I noticed that too, L and A. Maybe more are at the PP boards, or did not pay the posting fee (10 bucks for basic, and now they take Credit and Debit Cards and great customer service, so no excuse); I wonder where posters like Oldtimer, Liquor Lady, Artemis the Hunter, Eastside Digger, others like that are.
