The darlins' went out tramping hill and dell after getting the clue last night. Had tons'o fun and found a couple of very interesting things. Didn't get home until after 1.
Looking forward to getting the clue tonight. I think we plan to go to Hunan or Wyld Times...sorry Becksie no Bulldogs for us tonight.
My guess is that the clues thus far have been noodled in nearly every possible way...until we have a bit more to chew on (like having our best-bet park choices down to 2, maybe 3), there's not much more to say that hasn't been said already
I know the other 3 all moved out of the cities so they may not be into it quite as much as they used to be although I know LL and Artemis are still around a little bit.
"lipstick on a pig" has nothing to do with cosmetics or stout-nosed, squiggly-tailed animals, for that matter. The phrase describes trying to superficially dress up an unattractive situation — so if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. I tend to think piggies are cute, but now you know.
I wish Frozen Buttox would show up somewhere though. She's a lot of fun. She posted once at PP last year and that was all. Just a hello post. Also outtamymind. Miss her too.
This is something that I have been thinking about all day... could it be buried in the state park part of Ft. Snelling? Phalen was a soldier at Snelling (if Clue 4=Phalen via Palin). There is the cemetary, water and ice, plenty of area that is all-natural, golf course (fore), history, contests of yore (battles?)
I think it is a long shot but it just keeps rattling around in the back of my brain...
I don't think it's because people are keeping things -if anything only the typical 1 person seems to be keeping ideas - otherwise its pretty open. I have not been on since yesterday and I know I'm behind about 400 posts. The night before I caught up about another 300. The only reason I'm able to post now is cause I'm reading under CM and he is caught up.
I swear I saw Inks driving a van at 7th and Smith this afternoon. I almost followed him to see hwat park he was headed to but I was in the wrong lane for that. heh.
I guess I should have rephrased I didn't mean to accuse anyone of holding back...to each their own! I just couldn't believe how quiet it seems this year compared to years past when it was like I couldn't ever keep up.
I wish I had more ideas...and some solid "this is the park" feeling, but it hasn't happened yet. Scouting, thinking, tearing apart clues until I have to put them back together - and work keeps getting in the way.
I'm hoping to have Friday afternoon off...if I can get one report done by then. I figure I'll have a better feeling for one park over the other by then.
So where's the dang clue?!?!? I truly wish we had two clues a day.
I drove around today and looked at a few parks but I just can't talk myself outa BC and HF and Mounds. UNLESS it's out of St. Paul. We'll see what tonights clue conveys...we got woods and water.
There just isn't much to say right now. I do think that Palin/Phalen is just way to early. Not that I mind hunting Phalen. Manana is my favorite restaurant between here and there.
I just finished speaking with my Mom. We did our rendition of clue deciphering. I grew up having those conversations with her. I'm sure glad she's still around to share this special time.
The off leash areas are located at Rice Creek Regional Trail Corridor in Shoreview, the Lower Afton area of Battle Creek Regional Park in Maplewood, the Woodview Open Space Site in Roseville, and the Otter Lake Site in White Bear Township. Acreage of the sites is estimated.
The Battle Creek site is 10 acres
The Otter Lake site is 10 acres
The Rice Creek site is 13 acres
The Woodview site is 4 acres. This site also has a handicapped accessible area that is entirely fenced
I'm most certainly not keeping anything to myself, but I'm not beating you guys over the head with it a bazillion, trillion times.
Also, there's less opinions being stated - in my opinion - than in years past. More like funny-ha-ha posts. Folks holding their cards closer to their chests?
This might have already been said (if so, I apologize), but do you guys think the "hill and dell" could refer to Dellridge and Hillsdale streets over at BC? Clue 2 seems a bit early for something that blatant but who knows....

We'll toast to your birthday tho.
See ya'll at the paper tonight - - nap time

Might be interesting though.
