Doesn't the PP have some kind of identifing markers for this sort of thing?

I'm sure it does, but a newbie prolly wouldn't know that.

I just want to know if this is true.

Dear Clue Writer, I already wrote your explanations!

Clue #1 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #2 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #3 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #4 - Sarah Palin tells funny jokes...but seriously Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #5 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #6 - Go to Svenska/e Dalen...in case you missed it we said it twice.

Clue #7 - Go to Swede Hollow...probably don't even have to Google it by now. Also we threw in yet another anagram for good measure.

Clue #8 - Look up a book with an R-rated first line...then Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #9 - Go to Swede Hollow based on street names you probably don't need since you know its Swede Hollow.

Clue #10 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #11 - Go to Swede Hollow

Clue #12 - Careful down the stairs or a sled if you dare

50 paces are neither here nor there

Find the only tree that's worth a lick

Then hang a right by that one big stick

When youre nearer the water than you'd like to be

You'll see some snow thats been dug up all week

Don't step in the creek though your gloves might get wet

Watch out for your neighbors puck seeking pet

           Congratulations you made medallion news

Amazingly you never needed the clues

Thanks for another hunt that lasted all week

The plot was good and you're rhymes weren't weak

I can't wait til next year when all I'll do

Is sit around and wait for the eleventh or twelfth clue

The hunt from the past is now a race

To see who can double park and keep pace

With everyone running with half a clue

I hope I'm the lucky one that makes the news

I pray I'm wrong and its not at Swede

And in the end the jokes on me

But til we see the twelfth clue through

This little rhyme is oh so true

I would guess the private forum was my Yahoo group as I know someone did post that over there today. I also had this thought which I haven't seen here yet. The source of the information on Payne is the book written by Donald Empson. Maybe the cluewriter used their selective hearing to hear it as Imp Son, with an imp being interchangeable with a pixie.

I think a lot of that stuff was dumped over the hillside from demolition somewhere else in the city.

Imp son vs Empson= pixie: very good, Allison!

Just to clear things up... the next line from the book snippet I posted was just r-rated, something to the extent of "she opened her legs to the gangsters".

I would never withhold info, I have no chance of ever finding the thing! I am a full blown noodler, half-assed hunter. If I did find it, I would give it to a serious crew member to turn in!

Once someone pointed out the thing about Payne having his lands confiscated for serving in the Confederate army and they got this information from a book that Boxmeyer wrote the forward to and was written by a guy named "Imp"son, that pretty much sealed it for me. Otherwise I was starting to work up a pretty good Harriet argument.

Though I still don't really feel like searching in Swede. That's more of a job for the hardcore diggers. I am off the next two days though so I won't rule out stopping by to say Hi.

I'm sure have been pointed out by now, but Payne used to be called Dacatur (as in "Daniel Decatur Emmett" the writer of "I Wish I Was in Dixie"). Not that this should matter anymore since everyone is already thinking SH.
